Five problems related to transmission gear slipping have been reported for the 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Second gear is slipping. Some of the seals are leaking. One of the gears are stripped.
Automatic transmission slipping.
Transmission slips and doesn't change gears properly. This is due to transmission failure. The transmission was replaced, but the problem recurred.
Vehicle was in park and engine was running, the transmission slipped into reverse causing, accident.
