3 Brake Light On problem

There has been no accident- the abs brake light comes on at infrequent times, took to dealer (adams Jeep- annapolis, MD) they said cab unit is bad (an electronic control box) $700 to repair, we did not have it repaired, I feel that this type of unit should not fail and wanted to check into recalls, dealer said there are not any on this repair. Brakes seem to work as normal otherwise. Should this safety item be looked into? please address all contact to matt schaaf- as I handle all the maintenance on the vehile for donald. Ps- your website is a great source, thank you. Matt.
