Anti-theft is keeping the Jeep from working. The vehicle starts and dies after 2-3 seconds. I have googled it on the internet and there are literally tons of people on you tube/facebook (even some licensed mechanics) complaining about the issue.
The truck seems to have lost power to drive and also to provide proper to the radio which goes in and out. While driving there was no engine light that came on and the truck started hesitating to keep going. At 0 to 40mph it was acting like it wanted to shut off but as I gave it more gas it seemed to get better and the music came in clearer but then it would jerk like it was going to shut down. I have had the starter, alternator, engine and spark plugs changed and checked but it still is doing the same thing. This is unsafe with my kids in the car and no warning light to say that anything is wrong. This needs to be addressed I've seen too many trucks with similar issues like mines.

I own a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee I was traveling on the freeway a few days a go when my truck decreased in speed somewhat. I pulled off the freeway to stop at a gas station. Once stopped at the light a thick plum of smoke appeared in the aft portion of the SUV. I pulled into the gas station with screams of your truck is on fire get out. I quickly placed the truck in park jumped out and the truck continued to roll out of the gas station onto the street hitting some local construction workers nearby equipment. The rear axle case was on fire. I grabbed a c02 tank from the gas station in an attempt to stop the fire. The detroit fire department had to come to completely extinguish the fire.
2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee -- sudden acceleration -- pulled up to a gas pump, stop went to shift to park and the vehicle suddenly accelerated. If I had not quickly turned off the key I would have gone through the station.
2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee safety recall f25 - electric radiator fan. Consumer states the fan was replaced in January 2008 for the second time because it would not shut off and feels that it should have been replaced at no cost since it was recalled previously . The consumer also stated the transmission wouldn't shift into first gear. The dealer found a bad transmission valve body, 02 sensor and sync signal out of specifications. The upper and lower ball joints had to be replaced. Updated 09/08/jb.
