I have no heat in this vehicle. I replace a part and detached the glove compartment permanently so that I can turn a knob to get heat, at least, on the driver side. There is zero heat on the passenger side, but I engage the "c" button and the passenger side gets recirculated air on that side, (not warm, but at least not freezing cold). Sometimes turning the knob engages the heat, sometimes not. I have discovered that this is a defect in manufacturing for 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited vehicles, along with prior years. However, to my knowledge, there has been no recall. I purchased this vehicle pre-owned, with 80k miles on it. My question is if this is a defect in manufacturing, why should I have to pay hundreds of dollars to repair it. It seems that the dealership should absorb the cost of this repair and not the consumer. Additionally, why hasn't this problem been listed as a recall?.
The contact owns a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the front driver side and both rear windows had to be replaced. The contact stated that the motors failed in all three windows and the windows would not stay in the upright position. The failure mileage was 80,000 and the current mileage was 90,000.
Window regulator on drivers side power window has broken twice! both times no warranty covered it, although the parts repaired were Jeep parts, brand new.
Hvac system components failure. 1) blend doors plastic motor stop broke rendering them useless. No heat in passenger compartment. 2) recirc door broke falling on top of the fan rendering the defroster useless. Unable to run defroster creating a serious safety issue.
The regulator on 3 of the 4 windows have gone out, have them repaired at $400 per window. The engine fan will not turn off after stopping, unless I pull out the fuse under the hood, have had this repaired 2 times at an expense of $400 each time. Passenger side heat stopped working. It appears to be a common problem and design flaw in the blend door of Jeep Grand Cherokee's.
Blend door on heater broken, unable to turn heat on or defrost. This makes this vehicle unsafe to drive in cold weather. I can not drive vehicle in winter time. No assistance from dealer in repairing this defective blend door.
The heater stopped working last fall. It will not blow warm air and it is very dangerous in cold/rainy weather since I am unable to see to drive.
The climate control system has been making irregular noises. Then today it got stuck and the passenger side was only blowing hot and the driver was still adjustable.

Heater or defrost does not work right because of a blend door failure and is very unsafe. Upon checking around how to fix I ran across thousands of others having same problem and costing them $1200-$1900 to get fixed and it should be a recall to get repaired. It is just not right and very unsafe!.
My 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee ltd is having problems with the defroster, the heater, and air conditioner. It has driver and passenger climate controls. Initially, the passenger side stopped functioning. Eventually, the driver side heat and air stopped working. The defroster is barely working and only on the fan control.

The automatic climate control blows only cold air. This is a problem experienced by 1999 - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokees. The climate control does not function properly and does not provide proper warm air to the defroster causing window fogging.

Blend door went out on passenger side approx 5 months ago then today the drivers side went. Unable to defrost window. No heat/ no ac. Tire pressure light kept going off. Until the center top display went out, engine light wont shut off.
