The heating and air conditioning system does not provide enough air flow to keep the windshield defrosted in the winter or remove humidity in the summer.
This is the 2nd time I have had this problem. The heater/blower/vent system failed and no hot air comes out the right side of the car including the defroster which is dangerous. It turns out that there are cheap plastic temperature doors on the heating system under the dash that break. This is a very common problem on 1999-2004 Jeeps with dual heating systems. I had this repair done at 72,500 miles and now again at 141,900 miles. Both times the repair was about $1500. The repairs were done on Nov 9, 2009 and Dec 2, 2015. I am taking the car back to the dealer today because the air is still not coming out of the vents properly. I was checking about recalls before I go to the dealer, and I just found this website that describes the common problem and a low cost way to fix it yourself. . Read more...
