1. Door handles broken on 3 doors 2. Electrical system - lights flickering and completely going out while driving at night. 3. Remedy: Chrysler intends to repair vehicles free of charge (parts and labor). However, the part required to provide a permanent remedy for this condition is currently not available. Chrysler is making every effort to provide the part as quickly as possible. ****this was 2014, no updates so far as to parts being available. Two years is not timely.

"takata recall" I purchased a Jeep for 7,500. Put 3,000 down and financed the rest. Next day, the axle boot was broke. Took it back to the dealer and they replaced it. At that time, I realized they gave me a 29% finance rate. So I bought they vehcile right out by writing a check for $4890. With asking if the vehcile had any major issues or been in the shop for any serious engine or transmission work, I was promised the vehcile was in good standing condition. Next day, with my fiance and my 20 month old son in the newly purchased vehcile, headed out for a vacation. About 10 mins from our home and the axle they just replacedon't broke and the transmission went. The vehcile had no emergency brakes and no hear, not even park. I had to pull into a person's yard and do donuts until it stopped. Got it towed home and called the bank and cancelled the check. Now the have towed the vehcile away and say I write bad checks. Yet I have paperwork from the bank supporting my cancellation on the check and record of funds to purchase the vehcile. Seeking legal advice now. I did purchase "as is". . . . Yet, that doesn't uphold to fraud and warranty of mechanism on the vehcile.
While I was driving on a main road, my car completely shut down. My steering wheel was locked, gas and brake petal were not working, basically my car was going on its own. Worst part was that it was going on a slant while other cars driving 45/50 miles per hour heading towards me. I could not stop my car, nor drive my car, nor try and steer myself to a safe location. My car just kept going. Something needs to be done. I have almost lost my life 2 times already. I do not feel safe driving my vehicle. Everytime I go to Chrysler. . . They do not know what to do or what is going on. When will this be fixed and how?.
I was leaving the car wash and after putting the Grand Cherokee in drive with my foot on the brake it accelerated on its own and the brakes were not responsive. Unable to stop or slow down, to avoid traffic, I crashed into a stone wall. The car is totaled and I had serious injury to my head as the airbag also did not deploy.

I was driving down the highway going approximately 65 mph when, without warning, the vehicle shut down completely. Engine shut down, all power steering, braking, and power systems were lost. Luckily, I was in the far right lane and was able to pull safely to the side of the road. Once the vehicle came to a complete stop I was able to restart the vehicle and continue on. This is an extremely dangerous issue. After calling the dealer was told there was a recall for the symptoms described but no parts available to fix it and it could be months before it could be fixed. No offer was made to provide me with a vehicle to drive while the issue remained open. I am not going to endanger my life, my family's lives, or the lives of other drivers by continuing to operate this vehicle. The dealer should be required to provide an alternate mode of transportation to the customer if the issue cannot be resolved in a timely manor.
When it started malfunctioning, I would be just driving and my Jeep would just shut off, engine, power, all the dash lights come on, and steering becomes difficult as well as braking, and now it won't start. This is extremely dangerous to be driving but the ignition switch isn't available yet, this is a known recall and now its causing me to miss work since its my only vehicle. This is unacceptable and very dangerous, this has taken far too long to fix. Please help! I need a loaner!.
I drove into an advance auto parking and when I was driving the car seem to accelerated and I could not turn the wheel on the car I tried to push the brakes to stop the car but the braking system was not working. I could not turn the wheel and the braking system was not working and I started to panic. My car ran right into a metal pole and totaled my car. The police at the seen told me and my husband that the impact that the vehicle took, the airbags should of came out, but they did not. My car is totaled and the body of the car in the front is split in half.
I had my vehicle valet parked with a single key in the ignition. Upon receiving my car I got into the drive seat and proceeded to push my seat forward since I had a passenger behind me and was providing extra leg room. We proceeded to leave the parking area of the hotel and at a speed of about 15 mph I turn to adjust and item on the rear floor when my knee hit the key and the entire car was switched off. I had no steering since it was in locked position and the brakes was difficult to stop. The engine was off. I am just glad I was not on the freeway at 65 mph. Why is it taking Chrysler (fiat) one year to get a fix for this recall?.
I was on my way to work and in mid motion the cars engine power steering and brakes shut off. Luckily I was going slow enough that I was able to stop my car and restart it without any accidents. But I'm terrified the next time will I won't be so lucky.
Vehicle began uncontrolled acceleration after being put in drive into a tree.
The contact owns a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while making a turn at approximately 15 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and failed to respond. The vehicle accelerated independently without warning. As a result, the contact crashed into another vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed and there were no injuries reported. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the technician informed that the vehicle was operating as designed. I was entering a parking lot when I saw another car exiting. I pressed down on the brake and the vehicle went into sudden rapid acceleration. I pushed harder on the brake and the car sped up to at least 60 mph. I hit the car that was coming out of the lot because I could not stop my car. The car that I hit hit a parked car. My vehicle then sped ahead hitting another car because I could not stop. I sped over the railroad tracks and my car finally came to a stop in a shopping center. This was the last experience with sudden rapid acceleration in this Jeep. No one in my household has driven the Jeep since. My daughter experienced the same rapid acceleration in February while she was parking. She was going in reverse to park between two parked cars. The Jeep accelerated so rapidly she hit the car parked behind. The parked car she hit was totaled. The dealer could not diagnose the problem and Chrysler dropped the case. In my case Chrysler sent an inspector to investigate the problem. Chrysler determined that that they would not change their previous position and denied any mechanical defect. We have a car we are terrified to drive. It cannot be repaired because the mechanical defect cannot be diagnosed.
My 200 Jeep Grand Cherokee is affected by the manufacturer recall number: p41. While driving this past weekend with my wife and two small children. The ignition switch changed positions causing the engine to shut off with steering and braking greatly reduced. Thankfully I was not on the highway traveling at high speeds. This occurred in a residential neighborhood while driving 25mph. Thankfully no other vehicle or pedestrian was in our path. This was extremely scary and could have been extremely dangerous and deadly. I am completely unsatisfied with chryslers responsiveness to this issue. Our Jeep is my wife's primary vehicle and drives my children around daily. I feel this vehicle is unfit and unsafe to drive. Chrysler promised a solution by the end of the first fiscal quarter which is months past. When will a solution be available? I fell Chrysler is responsible to provide my family with a safe vehicle, is a rental or loaner vehicle an option until a solution is provided? please help. . .

While getting on the freeway about to merge on the middle left lane my vehicle all the sudden flick on all the dashboards lights - did not loose any power, but got my very concerned. 3 days later 3/14/2015 while I was putting to a parking space about to make another left turn the steering lock and lost all power. Lights were on, but I had no breaks and no steering. When tried to start the vehicle the engine had a hard time starting. Per the recalled online it says to adjust seat and not to have any other keys with the vehicle key. There were no other keys on this. I called my local dealer and there was no information on this.
When I was driving my 2005 Grand Cherokee, the vehicle turned itself off causing me to lose braking and steering power. The ignition recall is what is going on however Chrysler/Jeep does not have the parts to fix the problem nor are the offering any possible solutions. They are refusing a rental car due to the issue not being life threatening. However, having a vehicle shut itself off while driving is very life threatening to myself, passengers in the vehicle and innocent bystanders around me on the road. I am highly dissatisfied with Chrysler.
Vehicle loses power, power steering and power brakes and then shuts off while driving. Believe this is related to recall p41 which has no parts available at the present time. I feel my car is not safe to drive and am requesting a rental vehicle until part becomes available. Since I have to have the car towed to the dealership for a diagnosis I want to make sure the part is available. I am expecting Chrysler to reimburse me for all my expenses relating to this fix. This problem has occurred 5 other times besides this last occurr- ence.

My 2005 Grand Cherokee has on several occasions turned itself off while driving down the road. The last time this happened was at night and raining and the windshield wipers, headlights and everything shut off for several seconds while driving down the road. Because of this a tractor trailer pulled out in front of me with my children in the car and we were nearly killed. I had no lights, windshield wipers, the brakes and steering were very difficult etc. I took it to the dealer today and they stated that there is a recall for this however no fix for the issue at this time?!?!?!?! this is completely unacceptable as my vehicle is completely useless, it is not worth my families lives to take the chance of driving it.
My daughter was in a turn when she lost power steering, lost braking power, etc. She had to apply hard brakes to prevent going into the opposing lane. While she didn't understand what had happened, her passenger told her to try restarting the car. She did, and was able to continue.

I was on the freeway stopped in traffic but driving slowly as traffic moved when I tried to drive the steering wheel the brake and gas pedal felt really stiff so when that happened I just put the truck on park and turned it off and back on and after doing that it drove normally.
