1 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2015

The headlights, dashboard light, and interior lights all flicker spontaneously. The headlights have went completely out at night while driving. Sometimes the headlights do not come on at all or takes several attempts before coming on. At times the headlights and interior lights will flicker on and off for several seconds before cutting off. When raining and using the windshield wipers and headlights the lights will flicker on and off. This has been occurring for over a year and I am unable to drive the vehicle at night for fear of the lights going out.

2 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 06/25/2015

While driving the vehicle at night, the dash panel lights and headlights began to flicker on and off repeatedly. Turned the headlights off then back on and the problem went away for a few minutes then started again. The next day the service engine soon light came on and I lost acceleration ability, rpm's went up but the vehicle wouldn't accelerate while already in gear on a main road at a stop sign. Codes p0700 and p2767 were set.

Tl-the contact owns a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at 65 mph, the headlights flickered and failed. 4 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 02/02/2014

I was driving on California state route 20 eastbound in the curves past the omega rest stop, at 6:00 am, when all of the warning lights on the instrument panel illuminated. The instrument lights went out, and several seconds later illuminated again, they when out again and illuminated a third time, at which point the headlights on the car shut off. It was a very frightening event. I was able to flick the steering wheel headlight control and the lights came back on. I immediately took my foot off of the gas when the headlights went out, because I was in a curve section of a mountain highway. Luckily, a pull out was a quarter mile ahead and I was able to get off the road. I called aaa roadside assistance and they dispatched a tow truck to tow the car back to grass valley/nevada city. Two warning lights remained on the dash until the lights were turned off and the car towed. A light on the upper right with a car and a swag and a light in middle. Abs ? at the local repair shop, they found no codes to indicate any type of failure. The car has been taken since to magnussen's Jeep dealer in auburn, California and they have been unable to detect any problem. A similar event happened to my husband in 2008 approximately and the repair facility was unable to determine a problem. I have worked in truckee, CA and have commuted to work since 2001 on this road in several vehicles( (including two other Jeeps). I have never had a similar incident and I believe it is a serious safety issue. When the repair facility was unable to detect a problem, my husband and I began looking into the problem on this website and others and believe that our incident is not unique and reflects a substantial defect with this vehicle. Additionally, our compound low gear has not worked since the last recall was performed at the Jeep dealer in roseville, CA.

5 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 01/23/2013

While driving 55mph suddenly every dashboard warnings light, ignition, radio, headlights, etc. Turns on and off. Engine stalls for a couple of seconds each time this occurs. The same thing happened on a number of occasions. Dealer says they never heard of this problem and could not duplicate this problem when the car was in the shop. The car was at the dealer's shop on two occasions. The first time they said they couldn't find the problem and the second time they did something to the computer. The car is doing the same thing and is going back to the dealer on 2/18/13.

6 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 11/23/2012

I purchased vehicle 2 weeks ago, November 115, 2012. Over a period of several days, all lights on . Instrument cluster light-up, gauges go crazy, loose power and ability to operate vehicle. Very dangerous situation since I was on highway at highway speeds. Also, headlights begin to flicker off-on at a high rate causing a dangerous situation. I have researched online and found numerous similar complaints for Jeep. I went to my local Jeep dealer today. . . No help. Called Jeep hotline, 800-992-1997, no help, claim they havent had a problem. This is a safety issue and Jeep should stand behind their product.

7 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 08/08/2011

2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee headlight will flicker on and off. This also includes the dash lights. I have reserched this problem online, and have found that many others have had the same problem with this year and model. Many of these people have contacted Jeep, which basically ignored their compliants. Something should be done about this as it is a safety issure, and the dealerships and company are refusing to deal with it correctly.

8 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 01/06/2010

All exterior headlights (high / low beams and parking lights) and interior dash lights turn-off unexpectedly and without warning which is causing an extreme safety hazard. I have taken it to the shop numerous times but the problem does not duplicate while at the shop as it may happen 3 days in a row then, disappear for a week or two. The problem has been occurring since January of 2010 and still continues to this day (November 2010) without any resolve. The lights will turn-off in the morning or night as there is no pattern. I talked to Jeep directly but, they state they don't have any records of this problem or will not help with the problem until one of their Jeep dealerships contacts them with a diagnosis problem, which seems very odd that they are not overly concerned with their product.

9 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 07/15/2009

I purchased my 2006 Grand Cherokee in may of 2008. I started having a problem with the headlights flickering on and off and then totally going off about 3 weeks after we purchased the vehicle. We took it back to the dealership while still under warranty and they serviced it to find "nothing wrong. " the service person drove the vehicle at night and stated nothing happened. A couple of months later the same thing happened again, we took it to the dealership a second time, and the service person said the same thing again, "nothing wrong. " we go almost a year with no problems and the flickering of the head lights and interior dash starts all over again. I would hate for someone to have to die before the manufacturer decides to do something about this problem. I have a 5 year old daughter and a 17 year old son that I transport daily and I refuse to allow him to drive my vehicle because of this problem. Hopefully someone will decide to take action concerning the issues with the Jeep cherokee.

10 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 03/14/2008

Headlights and dash lights are turning off when we take a right turn and use the blinker. This does not happen on every right turn only occasionally. We have turned the vehicle into Jeep 5 times to be fixed and the issue continues to happen. Jeep has been unable to make car do this when they have the vehicle in for repairs but have replaced several parts on the vehicle. Each time they return the vehicle to us, within two weeks the problem starts again. Each time, the headlights go out longer and longer and are harder to get to turn on.

11 Headlights problem

The contact owns a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the instrument panel light would flicker and the headlights would dim for approximately thirty seconds. 12 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 11/07/2006

Purchased brand new 06 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4. Right from the get go, oncoming cars would flash us at night. I learned later that the 06 low beams are 60% brighter than the 05 model. I have complained to sourg Dodge in goshen in. They are completely worthless. Since then I've been pulled over twice and last night was ran completely off the road. I turned my lights on and had a friend drive past me. He verified. The lights are blinding. I took my ticket to sorg Dodge. No help, I'm on my own. Unless of course I want to purchase new lights. No costumer service what so ever. Don't waste your money for poor quality and poor service. This is the lowest priced SUV for a reason.

13 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 09/02/2006

The daytime running lights on 2006 Grand Cherokee vehicles is much too strong and blinding, leaving surrounding drivers potentially less apt to react safely to changing driving conditions. These are drl lights, not normal or high beams. All vehicles are the same, I have verified.
