Car has died while driving 4 times in the last 3 years. Complete loss of power while driving. Lost of power steering, loss of brakes while driving. Chrystler is saying recall was resolved by previous owner but it is still happening. Extremely dangerous. I have paid out of pocket to replace the tipm (over $3000) and I was not told about the fuel pump relay issue associated and connected with this recall.
I had a recall for my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee to repair a faulty fuel pump relay causing hard starting now it’s starting to intermittently do the same thing sometimes starts right up then sometimes will crank a long time before starting. This is what it was doing before they did the recall now it’s doing it again.
To whom it may concern my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee has a very strong gasoline smell to the point I get dizzy when I’m driving it and a instant migraine even if the car is parked in my drive way overnight the next morning you can smell gasoline from the outside too please help me thank you for your time.
Vehicle is stuttering and stalling out due to the computer being broke.
Fuel cap recovery error light comes on and when taken to the dealership and diagnosed they replaced the fuel cap twice in 2 years. Still presenting the same problem. Engine rocker arm and camshaft failure on 3. 6l v6 pentastar engine. Stability control problem when driving on rough highway roads at highway speeds makes the vehicle over correct in a left or right direction out of lane almost causing accidents. New shocks & struts, and check of the stability control systems has not corrected the problem.
There’s a recall on Jeep that causes the Jeep to stall while driving which could result in a crash or injury . There’s no recall on my Jeep though and it’s doing exactly what the recall is for the other Jeeps . I’ve taken it too three different spots including Jeep and they don’t know what’s wrong with it.
Greetings, after 3 dealership attempts to correct the tipm - NHTSA 19v813000 recall, my Jeep still stalled 4 times at highway speeds. I narrowly averted being rearended several times. I am terrified to drive the vehicle! I have yet another dealership appointment Friday, January 12, 2024 to correct the issue. Previous visits could not reproduce the problem or show any code errors. There were no warnings at all during these malfunctions, only the loss of braking and power steering did I realize the vehicle had stalled. Are there any remedies afforded to me at this point from Chrysler? the vehicle has only 124,000 miles. I've been extremely lucky that I haven't crashed or injured another party to date, but I fear it could happen at any time since this is my only transportation to and from work.
My car has had recall for over 2 years I’ve contacted multiple dealers to get it replaced no one has gotten to me and my car has been stalling while driving my most recent problem was I was driving on the highway and my car decided to stall and a 18 wheeler was coming behind me and it almost lead I to a wreck that could have cost me my life also my check engine light has come on a thousand times and every problem that it shows on the scan tool I get fixed which lead to me getting 5 tune ups last year and 2 this year because the code shows I need a tune up but it’s something deeper than what is being showed I paid 12k for my vehicle and I have spent double that in price trying to get it fix.
The vehicle randomly shuts off as I’m driving. It happened about a month ago on a very busy highway and then again today on a major street in my hometown. I’ve taken it to the shop twice and they cannot duplicate the issue or find a problem with it. I’m nervous it’s going to shut off at the wrong time and something bad happen. I don’t know what to do.
Fuel system failure. Decelerating to a stop or turn and vehicle stalls out. Already had the recalls processed which took months of being on a list. Pcm then fails. And because of chip shortage in 2022, couldnt get the car repaired. Finally get the part in and mechanic installs it only to find out the fan, because it sat so long failed too. So after 3 fans (this vehicle takes a special fan) we finally got the right one (mechanic) and he installed it. Got car back and we had another stall out after 4 days of having the car returned. Called Chrysler recall and escalated to a technician. The stall happens when you are actively driving it.
Driving for 2 mins . Came up on a red light stopped after turning green my Jeep stalled.
Carbon like smell entering cabin, engine stalling, and check engine light on. Ginn Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram in covington georgia stated they performed the recall repairs for the fuel relay wiring harness in June 2022 and the brake booster recall fix last week. The break booster recall is still showing unrepaired, and the stalling, fumes entering the inside of the Jeep is worse. The Jeep did not have a check engine light show up until after it left the cdjr service center. Due to dispute with the dealership that sold the vehicle putting an extended warranty in the paperwork, that I was not provided in writing yet its cost was added to the Jeep, the cdjr service center claimed the Jeep required $5700 worth of work to its hemi v8 5. 7l engine but they could not begin the work until I consented to the warranty providers $450. 00 fee to teardown the engine for further diagnostics. I could not consent to something I was not provided it writing, so the ginn cdjr refused to move forward and claimed they performed the last recall repair. They have refused to provide repair records and invoices. They also stated the Jeep is "driveable" when notifying me they would not fix it. Three weeks prior, as it was in their service center for three weeks, the service center instructed me not to drive it.
The vehicle randomly stalls without warning while driving, causing the power steering and brakes to fail. It occurs randomly every 7-14 days, usually when it's first driven for the day and usually within the first 5-10 miles when slowing down to make a turn. Occasionally it will occur at a stop sign and a few times it has occurred in traffic. It can be restarted by putting it in neutral or park. It has been doing this ever since I purchased the vehicle in 2017 with 68,000 miles on it. It now has 195,000 miles and the stalling has become more frequent. I hoped the recall for the fuel relay would fix it, but it has not. I have read that it is a tipm problem. There are several hundred similar complaints on the NHTSA website. The problem is discussed in Jeep forums on the web. This is a serious safety issue because of potential rear-end collisions. Why won't Jeep or NHTSA address it?.
When you turn a corner the engine shuts off. All the electronics still work (like radio, and lights) but you have no power stearing it is manual. You have to coast to the side of the road and put the truck in park and restart it. This has been recalled and fixed a few times and it is still happening and Jeep will not do anything to fix the problem. They want to duplicate the issue but you can not. This happens whenever it wants to - there is no rhyme or reason why it happens and you cannot duplicate it. I've taken notes every time it happens, (gas gage at where, weather, time of day, where I was going, how long I drove the truck) nothing matters, it just happens when it happens. So far now it is happening at least 1 time a month since December 2021. And I have called Jeep every time and reported the incident. I have a case number but they will not fix it or send out a new recall.
Recall 14v5300 - replacing fuel pump relay to prevent vehicle not starting and stalling was performed in November 2021. It has not solved the problem. Th Grand Cherokee still does the same thing. I replaced the relay that was replaced in the recall. No help. Chrysler corp. Did not fix the problem. A new recall needs to happen. This Grand Cherokee has stalled slowing down to come to a stop and when slowing down to turn at an intersection. This is very dangerous. It could cause an accident at the intersection. This recall needs to be revisited or a new recall needs to happen to solve this problem. Thank you reid a. Van kirk.
Tipm is malfunctioning constantly draining my battery, headlight flickers random check engine codes sporadically… just has been a complete nightmare trying to diagnose.
Jeep stalled out in traffic. Just died on the road.
My vehicle keeps shutting off when I make a turn - I lose all power - I have no warning at all that this is about to happen - the radio and headlights stay on (no steering at all so I have to struggle to turn the wheel since I am in a turn when this happens) and I have to coast over to the shoulder to put the vehicle in park and start it up again. This truck has been recalled for this problem several times already and repaired several times already and it just keeps happening. I am going to get in a car accident one of these times. It is the pump relay that is not working.
I contacted keffer Jeep Chrysler in charlotte, nc when I received the recall notice. This dealer ship has a poor service department and they almost never answer calls but use the voice recorder for messages. I left two messages regarding the recall but never received a return call. Today I tried again and got the voice mail again, so called through the manager's line and finally spoke to someone in service. At first they were very helpful, but when I mentioned the recall it changed and I was informed that it would be more than two months before they could arrange to make the recall repairs (the end of November). I have encountered this before where dealers do not feel that they are properly compensated for recall work and thus try to shift off to another dealer through delays. I am now going to find another dealer, but felt that the impact of the ntsb recall safety measures is being impaired by the conduct of keffer. The recall is very clear that this defect is dangerous and thus I have not used my Jeep cherokee pending getting the recall addressed. Thank you for your help in curing this problem for the public at large.
While driving the vehicle it will with no indication shut off and stop running. Its very scary and dangerous. I have taken it to the dealership and they told me the car is just old and have pressured me to buy a new car.
I bought this Jeep from burkenkotter in castle rock colorado back in April and ever since it stalls on me on the highway randomly and I lose my power steering and brakes and scares the crap out of me. It’s done this over 10 times over the 5 months ive owned it.
My 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee has a stalling problem when I am driving down the road and it locks up my steering and brakes and is very dangerous and I can not find the fix and it already has the external fuel pump relay recall and it still dies and my dealership in town doesn’t know what to do either and I’m still on the hook 9k for the Jeep.
In March 2021 my wife’s 2011jeep Grand Cherokee was at naples Chrysler-Jeep for a stalling problem where while driving, the car’s engine would stop while moving in traffic. Power steering and brakes lost power thereby making it nearly impossible to steer or stop without coasting to the side of the road. There was no warning from the vehicle that there was a problem. Once the car coasted to a stop, my wife was able to put the car in park and restart the car. This happened 4 or 5 times before taking it in for maintenance. After 2 weeks looking for a problem, they replaced a fuel pump relay in the tipm. Again, in late July the car repeated the stall while driving 2 times. The car is currently at naples Chrysler Jeep where techs are trying to duplicate the problem with no success. No codes came up during computer testing. We are reluctant to drive the vehicle if the technicians can’t locate and fix the problem before returning the car to us. Because of the sudden nature of the stall, we fear we could crash causing serious injury or death.
I received notice of the v62 fuel pump relay recall more than a year ago. It sounds like this is a serious safety issue, especially since I do much hwy. Driving, & the Jeep could stall at any time. The local dealership, brubaker @ 1020 lititz Ave, lancaster PA 17602 continues to tell me they can't get the part. Can you help me resolve this serious safety issue ?.
Oil cooler leak, leaking oil down back of engine, onto skid plate. Parts are on national backorder. Failure is a common issue that seems to occur with the poor manufacturing of the cooler plug.
Cityautopark dealer located in burlington,NJ, unwilling to resolve 2 safety recalls on my vehicle. For a several month ignored my request based on unavailability of needed parts, meanwhile sending me a postcards with urgent safety recalls. This kind of service is not acceptable, especially when it concerning public safety. Recalls on my vehicle 1. Brakes; 2. Fuel system. I hope you will help me to resolve my problem with this ignorent customer service. Thank you.
On more than 1 dozen occasions my Jeep has stalled while driving anywhere fm 20 to 40 miles an hour. I lost steering control and brakes while the rest of gages stayed on. After the first few times I figured out I could throw in neutral , hit the ignition button and it starts right back up. Chrysler Jeep told me this was a "relay " recall for over 1 1/2 years that they had no repair for. So they just kept replacing trhe part. I would get anywhere fm 2 wks to few months with the "new, bad part" the reall repair came in last week. After replacing it, I made it 2 days before I stalled again. This time on an exit ramp doing 30 miles an hour around a sharp turn . I (and my 13 year old son) went off the road into a ditch. I had to use 4 wheel drive to get out. I casued minor f=damage aswell. This time! I keep telling them it;s only matter of time before I die or kill someone when this stall happens. I have had a rental or been with out a car for at least 5 weeks of this last year alone for this recall failure. I look online and there are hundreds of websites and links to Jeep Grand Cherokees that have done this. How many ppl have to wreak or die to get someones attention?? I have filed this complaint a few years ago.
It's stalling and sometimes don't start and cuts off when you coming to a stop.
Our Jeep continues to stall while being driven, making it very unsafe as the power steering and power assisted brakes stop working when the engine stalls. This is the subject of several recalls, most recently v62/NHTSA 19v-813 issued a year ago. What is happening to correct this dangerous fault with our Jeep. We have experienced multiple stalls since 2015 failed recall and they continue to this date, always while braking and mostly while also turning to the right.
The vehicle was traveling at approximately 40 mph on a traditional two lane country road. As I approached a left handed turn, I pressed the break pedal and instantaneously lost power steering and power breaks. The vehicle became difficult to control and drove off the road into a small grass field. After coming to a stop, I looked at the dash and realized the tachometer showed 0 rpm indicating the engine had stalled. At first, I was unable to restart the vehicle because the shifter was still in drive. The vehicle restarted with no hesitation once the shifter was moved to park. The p54 recall has previously been completed. Fca has been informed and the vehicle was inspected by a Jeep dealer. The recall for v62 is still in development and the vehicle has since received the temporary interim repair. I have decided to park the vehicle until fca can reassure the vehicle is safe to drive.
Tl the contact owns a 2011 Jeep cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 19v813000 (electrical system) however, the parts to do the repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. A dealer was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available. Tf.
My car died when I was going around the corner holy shit, and no warning lights or nothing came I lost all power steering ran off the road and came about an interest in hitting the tree because there's this recall on my Jeep and I called to get it fixed and I'm on the waitlist it's over two years long and I need help getting this fixed because it's causing my car to die all the time unexpectedly. It has died several times due to this recall.
Tl the contact owns a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving approximately 55 the vehicle suddenly stalled and loss automotive power causing the vehicle to crash into a ditch. The vehicle was towed away and no injuries were reported. The cause of the failure was not determined. An unknown local dealer and the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact indicated that the failure was related to the NHTSA campaign number: 19v813000 (electrical system) but the parts were not available. The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 191,000.
Vehicle died while driving 8/21/2020 on hwy 68 and at hwy 74 at 27265 nc while driving 45 mph through a construction zone. Had it towed off the road to me house then towed to the dealer. Could not get it off the road due to construction. Had to leave it in the road until flat bed showed up. Engine began to shutter then stopped. Would not re-start at all. Sometimes would start like it was only running on 1 or 2 cylinders but then would not cut off all of this happened during 5 o"clock traffic. Filled a complaint earlier on this vehicle about starting issues exactly like this. The recall on this issue has not been resolved by Jeep been way to long for them to resolve this issue. It is at the dealer and I assume it will cost me a pretty penny by the time it is done. They seem to always find a way to generate a bill even on a recall. I am so tired of dealing with Jeep. This oem should not be able to let this go this long. I work for Volvo another oem company and when we have a mqr (quality issue) it is the top of the list to be resolved and delivered to the customer. I quess it takes inury or loss of life and a law suit to get it to happen.
Vehicle has stalled a number of times also has failed to start many many times. Vehicle has stalled on city road below 50 mph had to pull off and attempt to re-start. Has stumbled on highway a number of times. Hard start setting still is a common issue under many conditions. The so called first recall placing an external fuel relay has been done did not fix anything. This vehicle is a hazard in many ways. If it fails in a bad location it could lead to los of life or injury. Also if the need to start the vehicle at a moments notice is needed, it would be an issue in most cases. I find it unacceptable that Jeep has not repaired this issue. Will it take lose of life or injury to force them to repair the issue??? I have received notice of the recall many many month ago, solution is still listed as no solution.
