When I went in to waconia Jeep (905 strong dr, waconia, mn 55387) they told me I need a new fuel pump. Did not do recall work. My call often stalled but I was able to get back to my home in colorado. Dealers in denver metro area don't have any "openings" for 3 weeks.
I will be driving the Jeep & it will stall just turn off lose power steering. It happened twice on freeway & 10 times on street. It stalls when am turning. I took it to Chrysler Jeep dealership in monrovia CA they did a diagnostic didn't find anything they kept it overnight drove it nothing they didn't fix anything & it keeps stalling. There was a recall for fuel pump relay I don't know if the work was really done since it keeps stalling. Am afraid to drive the car on fwy only driving on street. Afraid of it stalling again.
Vehicle has shut off while driving a number of times. Two incidents were while I was sitting idle at a stop light. Two other incidents happened while in motion, slowing down, approaching a stop light or stop sign. There is a recall for a fuel pump relay describing similar situations but my VIN shows no such recall.
My car has been in and out of the shop for the past year. Two years ago my fuel pump went out and that was replaced at that time and was also a recall situation. Since then the same fuel pump has been replaced 5 times and the same problem keeps occurring. My car will stall and not start. After the fifth fuel pump I called the company and opened a case and was told they couldn't duplicate the problem. Two separate dealerships have looked at my vehicle and were unable to detect the problem. Since then the same problem has happened twice and I can't seem to get any help. Please help!.
Tl the contact owns a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. On several occasions, while driving, the vehicle stalled and lost power. As a result, the steering wheel seized. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to covert Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram (8107 research blvd, austin, TX 78758) where no diagnostic failure codes were found and the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was then taken to nyle maxwell Chrysler Dodge Jeep of austin (13401 ranch rd 620 n, austin, TX 78717) where no diagnostic failure codes were found and the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact took the vehicle to mac haik Dodge Chrysler Jeep ram (3207 s general bruce dr, temple, TX 76504) where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump and the fuel pump relays needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified and a case was opened. No further assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 49,000.
Jeep will only start with remote starter. Push button start does not work. I had the fuel pump replaced however, am just learning of a tipm recall for this model. Vehicle was in stationary position in my garage when it would not start.
Tl-the contact owns a 2011 Jeep cherokee. The contact stated that while driving 50 mph, the engine stalled without warning. After several attempts the vehicle restarted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump relay and brake booster failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 102,000. Ak.
Vehicle stalled, will not start from time to time, I notice several complainants online on the same. The complainants had taken vehicle in for repair add met with negative results each time the consistent fix was fuel pump & fuel relay but this did not repair vehicle these were dealer fixes.
Jeep was taken in for the p54 fuel pump relay recall on 6/12/15. Next morning after returning from dealer, the engine would crank but not start. This problem was intermittent, and the engine would sometimes start after 15-30 minutes of trying. Eventually on 6/15/15 it wouldn't start all morning so was towed back to dealer. They couldn't replicate problem and released car back to me doing nothing. Intermittent no start continued for weeks, car taken back to dealer on 7/6/15 and they replaced win module, another component of ignition system. Next morning, 7/7/15, car would not start again. Intermittent crank/no start condition continued to occur for weeks, car taken back to dealer on 7/22/15. This time dealer spent almost 3 weeks working on the problem. First, the fuel pump relay (the recall part already replaced once) was determined to be faulty and was replaced. This didn't solve the problem, and the tipm was said to be causing the condition, and was replaced on 8/10/15. Jeep worked for a week until today, 8/15/15, while driving down a busy long island road car stalled out while driving ~30 mph. My wife and our 4 month old baby were in the car, and I was somewhat terrified. There was traffic surrounding us, and I was left with no power to the brakes or steering. Luckily I was already in the right lane and was able to put hazards on and pull over slowly without incident. If there had been a red light or sudden braking in front of me however, the situation would have been much different. After pulling over, car cranked/no start as it has previously for the past months, and did so for 20 minutes until finally started and drove it home. I have had our Jeep in the shop 4 times for what seems to be the issue described in the fuel pump relay recall, but we are still experiencing the same problem! I am at my wits end, and no longer feel safe in this vehicle.
I had the tipm fuel pump relay bypass "fix" done last fall after failing to start a number of times. It has been recalled since I had the repair done. I am now experiencing the exact same problem. It fails to start a few times each week, eventually starting after several attempts. I've taken my vehicle to a local dealership a number of times and they can't find anything wrong (no error codes). This is an intermmitent starting issue and apparently difficult to diagnose. It's almost certainly related to the tipm. I continue to pay diagnostic charges since no "codes" are registering anywhere. ($150. 00) until they get a "error code", they claim there's nothing they can do and it's not covered by my extended warranty. The internet is full of similar complaints for this make and model year. I just want my car to start and run well!.
Tl-the contact owns a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 60 mph down to 30 mph, the engine completely shut off, and comes to a complete stop. There was no warning indicators illuminated, the vehicle restarted. The failure recurred on multiple occasions, the vehicle was taken to a dealer, was diagnosed fuel pump relay and was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and the approximate mileage was 87,000. Rw.
I was driving down a freeway at 55 mph when the car suddenly stalled. There is no warning other than the rpms hitting 0. This has happened three times in the past month and is becoming more frequent. When this happened I lost power steering while changing lanes, luckily toward the berm. I was able to put the car in neutral and roll off to the side of the crowded freeway, to a stop. I put the car in park and it started right back up. I was able to drive the rest of the way home making sure I kept an eye on my rpms to determine if the car had stalled again. It happened a second time, but I was ready that time and in a position to get off of the roadway. There is currently a recall for the fuel pump relay, and I did have it fixed at my own cost before the recall came out. Unfortunately, it was fixed with another faulty part since the fixed one has not been developed yet. I bought Jeep for its reliability, safety, and dependability, but I am very afraid to drive my car at this time. I also tow a trailer, that luckily has not been connected when this happened, or this would be a completely different complaint with a much worse ending. Since there is no eta on the recall part, I am not sure what I can do. I am almost to the point of buying another car rather than picking up a rental for an indefinite amount of time. I love my Jeep, but this is a much more serious issue than we are being led to believe.
Recall fuel pump relay p54 notice 11/6/14 problem vehicle may stall or cause crash without warning contacted dealer and Chrysler 4 occasions. They say they are working on a solution with no due date and no recourse.

Car didn't start as it should have after pressing the start button. After several tries the car eventully started up. I took the car into the dealership and they tested it. It was confirmed that the car fuel pump system is not working correctly and it is related to the recall p54. They are not able repair the car due to nationwide backorder of the part involved. They are not sure if and when the part will become available or when the recall repair items will be come available. They could not comment on the car saftey while driving with this condition. Talked to the Chrysler group recall assistance center. The comment "every car is acting differently and they can't advise if it safe to use the car". No further assistence was avaible neither was any futher help offered. I'm using the car for travelling around a 3 hour radius of wyomissing on a weekly basis. Average driven miles per year is 20,000.

Tl- the contact owns a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact indicated that the key would not turn over in the ignition to start the vehicle and the failure was getting progressively worse. The failure was to the point that the contact was not able to start the vehicle. The dealer was notified of the failure, indicated that the part was not available and provided an unreasonable timeframe for the appointment for NHTSA campaign id number: 14v530000 (fuel propulsion system). The contact also indicated that the dealer also indicated that the brakes booster was rusted, needed to be replaced and that the part was not available to remedy the recall repair for NHTSA campaign id number: 14v154000 (service brakes, service brakes, hydraulic). The dealer would not release the vehicle back to the contact until the manufacturer provides a remedy to repair both recalls due to the potential intermittent failures that may occur. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000. Dyd.
My 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee that is equipped with a v-8 5. 7l engine failed because of a faulty fuel pump relay inside the totally integrated power module (tipm-7). Fortunately the vehicle was not moving at the time and would not start. The car has been sitting at the dealer since 11/4 because Chrysler has informed them that there is a backlog of well over 1,000 tipm-7 units and they don't know when or if they will be available (their words, not mine)! frankly, I am outraged as a consumer. I paid $42,000 for a vehicle I cannot use.

Car would not start on first attempt and progressively got worse requiring more attempts over several days. Car would start and quickly stall. Replacement of fuel pump relay fixed the issue.
After getting my fuel pump replaced, my fuel pump light still comes on. What is going to be done to correct this? I read that a bad fuel pump from the dealership could have been put on my vehicle.
See vip inquiry report. Fuel pump relay. No parts avalable. How long do I have to wait? it had to be towed two times. Vehicle has been sitting at dealer for two weeks. Nothing but problems with this vehicle. Is this a lemon? thanks,.
In the affected vehicles, the fuel pump relay inside the totally integrated power module (tipm-7) may fail, causing the vehicle to stall without warning.
Early oct. My vehicle started to have a issue with starting. So I just ignored it for a few weeks as time went on it got worse and worse. So on October 30th I did some research. Found that it was a tipm problem I was occurring. Mind you I am mechanically incline I do work for a car company and fix cars all day. So on oct 31st I took it to suburban Chrysler in troy mi. They did 2 recalls and said you have a tipm issue. Ok covered under warranty? nope! $1190. 00 to fix. I state to the service advisor fred, there is a recall for the same issue. He states it dose not apply to your vehicle. I state I don't understand. But there is a fix can I have my vehicle repaired the same way. He states no. So I need to buy a whole tipm where others just get a bypass? they state yes. F*** that. I remove my vehicle from there. I call Chrysler for any kind of support. Nothing. No assistance. No words of advice. I tell them, how do I drive my car if it stalls or wont start. Sorry cant help you. Am I supposed to drive my car? they cant tell me if I can drive my car. That up to me they state. So there not sure if I should drive or not. Over the weekend I contemplated about where to take my vehicle to get fixed. I guess ill pay $1190 Monday goes by. I get home and sure enough a recall notice in my mail. You mean to tell me they did not know 3 days earlier? they just wanted me to pay $1190. So his commission check is nice. I know how it works. Little did they know I was a service advisor for Chrysler for over a year!!!! now its 11/21 and my vehicle did not start this morning due to the fuel pump running all night. . . . Now if the fuel pump burns out do they replace that under the recall? there is a trick. If it runs when the vehicle is off. Open the hood and slap the fuse box and it will turn off. Mind you it was 11degress here this morning.
While driving the abs, and tracking lights came on. Made it home , and notice that the fuel pump continued to run when the ignition was turned off. Started the Jeep back up , and the brake pedal went to the floor. Had Jeep towed to thd Dodge dealership. Estimated cost, 1,300 I.
Vehicle would not start. Dealer replaced fuel pump relay, mentioned many people were having this issue and that Chrysler may have/need to recall so keep receipt. Suspect it may be the tipm.

I parked the car in the garage and heard a noise. After searching the whole car, the fuel pump was stuck on. I turned car on and off thinking it would reset and it did not. On August 14, 2014 my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee would not start. Over the next two weeks the starting issued got continually worse. The day I took it into the shop to have looked at it took 8 to 12 times to start. The vehicle will crank but not start. The technician performed diagnostic testing and found no fuel pressure when not starting. Technician found fuel pump not being turned on when key is turned. Technician installed a relay overlay harness for tipm circuit. Diagnosis - faulty tipm.
Had a problem starting the vehicle. Took it to the dealer on 8/27. Was told it could be the tpim and/or fuel pump. Parts are ordered, but they have no idea of when they'll arrive. Now I'm in a rental.
The tipa is defective and the fuel pump won't turn on, therefore my car is unable to start. I have to pay $1300 to repair this as the car is now out of warranty. I have done research and learning this is an extremely common defect in the Jeeps.
