Car Stall problems of the 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Recall NHTSA campaign number: 19v813000 remedy says that we will receive a second notice when final remedy becomes available. It notes that vehicles experiencing a fuel pump failure will receive an interim repair. I have been to 2 dealerships and called fca multiple times to talk about this recall's interim repair and have been sent around with no answer. They seem to be purposely dodging any accountability for this interim repair they have promised. My vehicle has stalled multiple times on streets and highways.

My 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee laredo 4x4 has randomly but continuously stalled or hasn't started up successfully for the past year that I have owned it. This has caused much stress, anxiety, and inconvenience for me, my wife and young daughter. We live with the constant fear of being left stranded throughout or own city or worst yet stranded out of town during family road trips. This is completely unacceptable and undesirable as loyal Jeep vehicle owners of several different Jeep models including two Jeep patriots and one Jeep liberty. This past Friday I was unable to start up my Jeep to go to work and was left stranded in my garage. I had to miss work that day and have the Jeep towed to a local authorized dealership where it is still parked four days later unable to start up and is undiagnosed or repaired. This is causing me and my family much financial hardship due to my wife and I having to alternate missing work or trying to borrow a spare vehicle from other family members. I hope to have a remedy as soon as possible by the manufacturer as this issue and subsequent recall has been in effect since last year 2019. I hope that this complaint does not fall on deaf ears and that a solution is developed and provided to me and my family right away.

Car stalls without warning on the highway. This has happened 8 times in the past year. Recall was issued November 2019 with a temp fix. I received the temp fix in January 2020. I had another stalling incident on the highway Feb 11 2020. The car has been at the dealership since. Jeep/Chrysler has been less than helpful.

Auto mechanic says that the 5th cyllinder in this Jeep Grand Cherokee hemi engine is prone to fail. Probably manufacturer defect. The fifth cylinder misfire caused cylinder to deteriorate and leak metal into engine causing failure. The car stalled while driving on a busy road in jacksonville florida. .

Fuel pump relay - my car stalls when it wants and takes off really fast when it wants, and starts when it wants to transmission. - I am told there has been a recall on the transmission my car is slipping gears.

Vehicle does not start as it should consistently. Vehicle has an inconsistent delay in moving forward after stopping at a red light and will have a jerk/jumping feeling in the transmission after the delay/stall from moving forward. This has been an ongoing issue since December 2019 when I initially took the vehicle to get looked at and the dealership states they do not have parts to fix the issue as of September 2020!.

Tl- the contact owns a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that after the vehicle was serviced for the NHTSA recall campaign 19v813000(electrical system) a temperary fix was install due to the part not being available the local dealer wickstrom Jeep located at 660 w northwest hwy, barrington, IL 60010 had installed an external fuel pump relay. The contact indicated that the vehicle would stall while driving and on occasions would not immediately start. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that fuel pump had experienced melting due to the temperary fix of the exterior fuel pump relay. The local dealer wickstrom Jeep located at 660 w northwest hwy, barrington, IL 60010 was notified of the failure and adviced that the perminent repair for the recall was still not available. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 90,000. Jft.

Tried to start my Jeep it wouldn't start. I used the push button. I waited a few hrs and tried again. Same issue. Tried my remote start. Started up. Next day used the push start, started up no problem, on the highway (95) the truck was hesitating when going up an incline. Next day push start won't work, the engine would turn over as usual but wouldn't start. Remote start and it started up. Son took it and put it on the diagnosis machine and said there weren't any codes. Researching a hard starting problem I've read tons of posts very similar to what I have experienced. I called the dealer to make an appointment. Asked could it possibly be the same issue that my truck was re called on already. He said might be r09 fuel relay recall, timp problem, (recall was a temporary solution to install a fuel pump harness bypass so that the fuel pump turns off) but that if it is, the dealer said they already replaced that and will not do again unless it is pd for, after they put the Jeep on their diagnosis machine at $175. 00 per hr. So after they completed the 9th recall I pick up my Jeep with hopes that I could do more research. I also called Jeep. The lady was very nice but they will do nothing except add my complaint to their system. I found out that many people had the same problem as I do! Jeep/Chrysler have put faulty timp in these cars and do not want to put a recall out on them. Many cars with my model have had the same complaints. The faulty timp has the fuel pump running constantly which drains the battery it runs when the car is off. Now if I �try� to start the vehicle it smells like something is burning. After researching this problem I found the issue to be a timp problem and now am aware that I am not alone. There are hundreds if not more Jeep owners that are having the same issue.

I have been since 2017 (September) with a situation of a recall t36, the situation was resolved temporarily (see annexes included). I was then assigned to a consultant mr. Lucas figueroa, work my case and clearly indicated through emails (I have all the evidence) that the alternator (by then 2017) was not available anywhere, triangle dealer del oeste was installed a piece that was not the recall while the piece was available. I must clarify that this situation occurred on September 8, 2017 and I was delivered my bus on November 9, 2017. You can refer to case #11039953 assigned by NHTSA. I am demanding to have the t36 recall part installed. It clearly indicates in the communications that it is a temporary remedy. And even more, I was told that when the part was available or manufactured them (an fca officer) would call me to let me know that I could pass to install the same. I never got the call. I need this case handled with the seriousness it deserves. Recall dealer t59 (which has already been done) I explain about the recall pending the t36 (alternator) and I am notified that the alternator is already installed.

The vehicle stalls and loses power while driving without warning (or warning lights) happened multiple times. Restarts after 15-20 minutes.

A fuel pump relay failure can result in a stall condition if the vehicle is running or a no-start condition if not running. I use currently my car for works matter. I was very kind and I am very afraid to use the car and this prevented me from being late in my personal affairs ann I am emotionally affected because up to the mopars does not have solution.

Also, while turning into a parking lot, the vehicle stalled and failed to restart. The contact noticed light smoke coming from the engine compartment. The VIN was included in NHTSA campaign number: 17v435000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.

The contact owns a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While leaving the driveway, the vehicle hesitated as the accelerator pedal was depressed, but the vehicle stalled. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and drove approximately half a mile from her residence before the vehicle stalled again. The contact was informed that an appointment could not be scheduled for at least another month for diagnostic testing and repairs. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 15v115000 (electrical system) as a possible cause of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 47,000.

Tl the contact owns a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While starting the vehicle, it stalled and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart when the brake pedal was applied. The failure occurred numerous times. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 65,000.

Multiple episodes of extended crank without start. Also several episodes of stalling without warning while driving - 1x in drive but another time on highway at night in traffic. All episodes have happened in 2017 staring August through 'now'. Car has been to dealer service 4 x without resolution. Currently with dealer being operated with a "flight recorder" as they did experience problem but couldn't identify the mechanical source - they contacted "Chrysler" for advice. I'm lucky, I'm driving a loaner for 3 weeks now from my dealership.

The engine and all systems stop; turn off without notice. Actually not a stall, but all power ceases to work abruptly. The car then must be stopped fully to allow a restart. Without power steering or brakes the car is immediately subject to a rear end collision. It has always occurred at speeds around 15 to 20 mph, and normally when slowing. Jeep dealers have been unable to fix the problem and, of course I cannot duplicate for them as it occurs without notice periodically. Jeep recently, finally issued a recall for a fix but the problem continues even after their "fix". The car does have an aftermarket supplemental braking system to allow towing by an RV. That has been disconnected as a possible cause, but the stalls have continued. I can't drive the car nor will I allow my family to do so.
