Component/system failure: the internal fuel pump relay within the totally integrated power module (tipm-7) failed. This component is not available for inspection as it is an internal board-mounted relay, but the dealership-installed external bypass relay (part #cbwpr091aa) and the failed fuel pumps are documented on the attached service invoice. Safety risk: the failure caused an unpredictable engine stall at highway speeds in heavy traffic. This resulted in a complete loss of motive power while moving, creating an immediate risk of a rear-end collision and leaving the vehicle stranded in a live lane of traffic. Confirmation: the technician documented a terminal 'static pressure drop' to 35 psi (spec is 58 psi). Based on this confirmed low-pressure state, the dealer required the replacement of both the main fuel pump and the siphon/auxiliary transfer pump, alongside the installation of the external bypass relay kit (part #cbwpr091aa) to restore safe operation. " inspection: the vehicle was inspected and repaired by the authorized manufacturer representative (larson Chrysler Jeep). I have also opened a formal case with stellantis corporate (case # 96059987). Warning symptoms: there were no warning lamps, mil messages, or starting issues prior to the initial stall. The 'long crank' and failure-to-start symptoms occurred immediately after the highway-speed stalls. The vehicle would not restart until it had sat for a period of time, indicating a thermal failure (heat soak) of the internal fuel pump relay. This resulted in the vehicle being stranded in live traffic multiple times while waiting for the component to cool and allow a restart "note: the attached repair invoice from larson Jeep contains a clerical typo in the VIN (listing a 'd' instead of a 'b'). The dealership has been contacted to provide a corrected copy, but the technical diagnostics and repair were selling dealer: titus will used cars lakewood, wa servicing / repair dealer: larson Jeep puyallup, wa.
I took my car to the dealer for the recalls. They are basically only putting a band aid on the issue. They are telling me they did both recalls but it didn't fix the issue. Klaben in kent ohio. They basically did just a flash on it but that didn't fix the issue (loss of crankshaft position). Everything I read said the reluctor wheel needs replaced and they are telling me the vehicle is too old and won't fix. This is all part of the recall. If you have any questions please call me. Hello I have a 2014 Grand Cherokee 3. 6 and the oil cooler went out again . . This is th 3rd time. The last 2 times I pay out of pocket for it but now 3 different mechanics told me there’s either a recall or something with the oil cooler when Jeep has to fix it. I don’t want to pay another $1000 again please help me out Jeep of lowell didnt help at all.
Had a catastrophic fuel system failure and was repaired on the z46 recall the dealer had my vehicle for 2 months and finally got me a loaner after 30 days. Vehicle was finally repaired after 2 months, drove for approximately 2 months and less than 400 miles and it failed again showing a code of low fuel pressure the same as last time had vehicle towed back to same dealership after making appointment and they have had it for 2 weeks and still have not even run a diagnostic check and are refusing to offer me a loaner.
My truck was affected by the fuel pump recall brought it to the dealership to have it performed was told fuel pump was bad and contamination occurred was told they will repair the truck as part of the recall. 3 weeks later received a call truck was ready but gave a code for temp sensor that was not covered by recall had to pay $500 for the repair I authorized and was told part was out of stock for a week. After the part was installed I was told the car was ready all codes were cleared and car was good to go. Meanwhile the truck was not road tested after all the repairs were completed. I picked up the car Friday 4:30pm went home and the truck lost power again and check engine light and lightning bolt came on. Dealer was closed had to tow it to them for them to look at Monday. Got a call stating they retightened everything and told me to come get the car. Meanwhile car was not road tested again! picked up the truck and again after 50 miles same thing again check engine light and loss of power brought it back to the dealer and was told that need to do a cleaning of the engine but to drive the truck and see how it goes. Took the truck went to work around 90 miles on the highway smoke starting coming into the cabin truck lost complete power and almost caught fire!! vehicle was in NY had it towed to the nearest station until we speak w dealer to arrange for it to be towed back to CT. Spoke w dealer next morning and was told they have an affiliated dealer in NY to have it towed there and they will look at it. Took it to manhattan Jeep and was told the dpf sensor had melted and they needed to replace it. Part was on back order for a week. Had them replace it after replacing they told me the truck is still not running correct. Statting that the honeycomb in the dpf was broken and needed to be replaced along with the catalyst converter! all this was done due to the recall not being performed correctly!!! and not be road tested after replacing fuel pumps, fuel rail, fuel injec.
Fuel spit back on refueling. Repeated attempts produced same result. Dealer said need to replace fuel tank due to check valve problem. Researched found this is continuous problem with Grand Cherokee and other Jeep models for several years. Cost the replace tank us excessive.
When I accelerate the fuel pedal to the floor the more it cuts out it did that before the recall on the high pressure fuel pump and it's doing it after supposedly it was replaced. The dealership replaced injectors, fuel rails, fuel filters, all new tubing kit, and most important high pressure fuel pump, upon inspection the dealership only replaced high fuel pressure pump and did not perform the work this is the second time I informed you about this issue. I am so highly concerned not only from my safety but safety of others if they've done this to me the dealership will do it to anyone. I hired an attorney to investigate until these illegal activities and I will be going in front of the attorney general on this matter. I have a highly concerned issue with this vehicle the admissions is terrible the soot that goes into that engine it's ruining it at 138,000 miles my biggest issue is the exhaust gets in the vehicle with all the windows shut and I get sick on that def fluid that burns out the exhaust somehow someway it's getting in the vehicle and it's getting me sick I've already brought this to the attention of the manufacturer and he said the motors are junk and they should be recalled immediately this is my second complaint and no results.
My car didn’t move I would put drive and it would park and I would try driving and it didn’t move then it would move and stop again.
The Jeep has had major issues with the fuel system. The first reported issue is during the fill the filler would click like it was full when it was in the beginning stages of the fill. It ended up soaking me with gasoline and shutting down a gas station for spill. I filed a complaint with the NHTSA and the vermont attorney general because the dealerships were not fixing the problem. The fuel tank was finally repaired when the attorney general got involved. 2024 the Jeep is again having issues with the fuel system. When the tank is filled to capacity it creates gasoline fumes so strong that it infiltrates the cabin and can be detected from the parking lot. It is really scary to keep having issues with the fuel system. I am shocked after reading on the internet so many Jeep owners with fuel system issues that the vehicles are not on recall. I want to report this because it is a safety issue.
May 8th 2023 - car would stop, shift in neutral going at any speed. Had to pull over stop car, restart and slow start again while Jeep would shift, jump and clutch. May 9th-18 - Jeep was in shop to put a "bandaid" over issue. May 8th 2024 - car transmission doing same issue along with a leak. Car would shift in neutral on hiway, transmission sounds like it's dropping. ----- https://repairpal. Com/recall/19v447000 this recap is exactly what is happening to my Jeep but for some reason my VIN is not protected under this same issue but I do have the same engine.
My oil cooler has failed and it caused oil to mix with my coolant and also causing a bad coolant leak. It over heats to car and my warranty will not cover anything! this is a major problem with diesel Jeeps and the oil cooler needs to be recalled also. It can catch on fire and is a real safety hazard. I’ve tried multiple times to fix the oil cooler and leak. Jeep will not fix my recall at all. A recall that is on the vehicle and can cause a fire!.
The z46 manufacture campaign has been open for an extended period of time. I have not been able to have my vehicle fixed because of a continued lack of parts at the dealership. I have had my vehicle in for service on multiple occasions and each time I am told "the parts are on back-order". I dropped my vehicle off this morning and again was told "the parts are on back-order".
Complaint to national highway traffic safety administration (NHTSA) subject: vehicle sold by carmax with open recall campaign z46 in violation of stop-sale order dear NHTSA, I am reporting carmax for selling a vehicle affected by recall campaign z46 (NHTSA 22v406) in violation of the stop-sale requirement. In November 2023, I purchased a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited diesel from carmax while it was still subject to this recall and the part needed for repair was on national backorder. Carmax failed to disclose the open recall or the serious safety implications. As a result, I experienced significant engine and def system problems and incurred over $3,800 in related expenses. The vehicle was eventually repossessed, and I had to borrow nearly $2,500 to recover it. In addition to these costs, I experienced credit score damage and emotional stress from the situation. I am requesting NHTSA to investigate this dealer for violating the federal stop-sale order and endangering consumers by releasing a recalled vehicle without remedy or disclosure. Sincerely, [xxx] [xxx] [xxx] [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
I need help! please! my car is under the x78 extended ecodiesel warranty. The government (epa) sued fca back in 2019 for making these cars with over 14 illegal deletes, like Volkswagen. Instead of making them buy the cars back, they let them say they would make all repairs related to this huge list of components. I’ve had nothing but problems the past almost 2 years. My Jeep was at one dealership a full year. Now it’s at another dealership in ennis texas for about 59 days now. . My Jeep went into limp in mode in front of an 18- wheeler on interstate 45, I was almost killed. I was so afraid! I sent a letter requesting they contact the manufacturer as they have said so on the paperwork. I’ve gone to get my car 4 tiles and it’s still not repaired. I get a text message on Saturday telling me my Jeep is fixed and ready? I’m not getting into that vehicle again, my daughter is having nightmares, she’s asked me please don’t drive that car again! I’ve attempted to pick this car up 4 times, it’s not fixed! same code from 10/04 initial drop off. The same codes came back on 11/9 after they said they’ve replaced the pcm and mass air flow sensor and other parts?.
Two open recalls on the vehicle (6/9/22 and 6/8/23) that have no repair available. 1. Both recalls can result in immediate and unexpected loss of vehicle power and "cause a vehicle to crash without prior warning" 2. Dmv (CA registered) will not issue current registration tags or paperwork due to recalls being incomplete. 3. Vehicle has had multiple issued related diesel engine, including entering into limp mode unexpectedly and incomplete diesel exhaust regeneration which has made it unsafe to drive at highway speeds. I have attempted to call the dealership every month and each time they have no solution as the manufacturer has not released a repair.
In Aug my warning light came on, I called mopar was given a case number it was not until October that I was contacted after repeatedly calling for status. The is was the egr cooler which mopar showed had been replaced when recall issued, I was advised by stellantis to have towed to dealer, it was towed oct 15, dealer advised it was replaced a few years earlier but I provided proof it had not, dealer then replaced but then advised it could not be cranked due to not holding coolant, it was not doing this prior to being towed. I then asked for the outstanding recalls to be completed, they advised no parts…I see now one is showing incomplete that should have been done, the other is a problem with part, I called after receiving a letter those parts were in and they said they were not, I then called you and was advised I am on a list to have this completed. I have been having to rent cars to get me to dr appointments since August. It is currently in the shop having the dpf r.
Car shut down and engine stalled while driving. I coasted to a stop in the middle of traffic. Car would not restart. Had to get towed home. There are two open recalls on this vehicle- one for fuel pump and one for tone wheel. The dealers say they can’t fix it because no parts are available. This is unacceptable. One recall has been issued over a year ago. This is my primary vehicle. I have already had to borrow a family members vehicle for weeks now. I cannot wait months hoping for parts to become available. I need recall work to be performed now or at least a temporary fix to get me back on the road.
This recall, campaign number 22v-406, has been open for 13 months at this point. How long is it acceptable to still be waiting on parts and a plan from stellantis to address a potential safety issue that warranted a recall.
The outstanding recalls have not be addressed despite one of them being over a year old at this time. The v46 high pressure fuel pump issue is particularly worrying as not only does this pump failure result in a dangerous situation on the road but can also cause tens of thousands of dollars in engine damage as a result. The recall was issued more than one year ago and no remedy yet exists. This is not acceptable timeline. Fca & stellantis need to either find a remedy of purchase these vehicles back at a fair price immediately as many of us are afraid to drive them with our families.
Recall z46, NHTSA 22v-406 was issued a ~year back. Dealership was contacted at that time and they informed us a remedy and/or parts are not available. Now, the fuel system has failed. The failure occurred in an intersection. Vehicle was towed to a mechanic and determined it was the fuel system failure and it was under recall. Vehicle was then towed to the dealership. One year later there is still no remedy and/or parts available. Mopar was contacted and they informed me there is no remedy and/or parts are not available. 1 year is unreasonable. The last recall w79, NHTSA 20v699 was handled the same way. We made the repairs ourselves and then requested a refund which was ignored. I am assuming the newest recall 66a, NHTSA 23v-411 will be handled the same way. A quick search on the internet revealed that mopar parts are available to remedy the fuel issue.
Codes p06dd, p0456, p0306. Mechanic said new motor is needed as there is a bad lifter, losing oil pressure and other issues. I have 133000 miles on my car. After further research, many other people with the pentastar v6 engine have the same issues. A lawsuit was filed previously.
The fuel pump recall can cause a major problem if on a highway or interstate (engine can quit suddenly and without warning, according to the recall notice). This recall has been act for nearly a year with no resolution in sight (NHTSA recall number 22v-406, manufacturer recall number z46).
The vehicle is beginning to choke when accelerating - loss of power is noticed. The engine light is on. This recall was issued in June of 2022. Here we are almost a year later, and there are still no parts for repair?? why?.
Unknown.
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle failed to shift gears as the rpm's increased. The contact stated that the check engine warning was illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to an auto store where the code reader displayed a failure with the diesel engine not regenerating. The vehicle failure cause has not been diagnosed by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact was relating the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 22v406000 (fuel system, diesel). The contact stated that the parts to remedy the recall were not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer has exceeded a reasonable amount for the recall remedy. The manufacturer has not been made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 123,858. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Car wont start when button pushed and everything in the Jeep has been fixed and it still wont work leaks oil non stop. Work needing to be done: new transmission to stop leak new fuel injection pump to start car (has not) new shifter new battery new dashboard as the screen would flicker car barely has 100k miles on it. Makes no sense.
The top of the fuel filler tube - mopar (68302344ab) is made of weak plastic. While fueling the vehicle, the capless portion of the part above broke and a small amount of fuel spilt. Now the car is difficult to fuel and the fuel tank is exposed due to the lack of the fuel capping mechanism.
Fuel pump relay has failed. It is internal and soldered onto the tipm board under the fuse block. This is a well known issue and a cheap fix on 2011 - 2013 models of Jeep Grand Cherokees. The fix was to wire in an external bypass relay. My only option at this point is to replace the tipm board which is quite expensive, hundreds of dollars, for a $8 failed relay. . . . Terrible design. Thankfully I wasnt traveling 70 mph on the expressway when the failure occurred, (stall/lose power). Please extend this recall thru the 2015 models.
Safety recall does not have parts available to fix. Vehicle may stop running unexpectedly. My car stopped running in December and has fragments of the engine. I’m not sure if it is related to this recall or not. My car’s engine is being replaced right now by the dealer, under warranty, but I cannot trade it in for what it is worth because of this outstanding safety recall.
The capless gas system is cheap and coming out of the car. It leaks gas out of the bottom and every shop ignores me. I have found multiple conversations online with people having the same problem. This should be recalled. The system was redesigned three times in one year. It is poor engineering. It causes my car to throw codes over and over to no relief. It had happened multiple times over my past two years owning it.
While driving down the road the vehicle lost power. No warning lights had come on prior to losing power. Luckily I was able to get it pulled over off the road before it died completely. After that it would not start but the check engine light was now on. I had vehicle towed to a shop close to my house. After the shop’s diagnostics, I was informed the problem was the high pressure fuel pump.
My vehicle has a recall with the parts not available, I crash without prior warning, and injured. I have contact fca us and other customer care numbers provided. My vehicle was repaired for the outer damage due to the collision, but my vehicle does not pass emission due to parts not being available. My car is drivable with very little power and can only drive a very low speed and locally. I have called about this matter for over a month and afraid that I will get in to another accident. I have not received information on when parts will be available. I had it checked and most probable other components require replacing due to the recall. This put me at risk and could have put my children at risk.
While on freeway at 50 mph. My 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited 3. 0 diesel ,. Loss motive power. I was very fortunate to not crash the vehicle, but the situation was horrifying! I received the recall notice for the hpfp ( high pressure fuel pump) , z46/ NHTSA 22v- 406 but crystler corp doesn't have the part available to fix. Iam currently have a loan on my vehicle and can't drive it!.
Having issues with Jeep stalling and loss of acceleration . Dealer says there isn’t a fix yet? recall but no fix? please advise what to do if it completely fails. Sandy graber grabscr@hotmail. Com 4258702884.
There has been a safety recall since June of 2022 out on my car, and the manufacturer has failed to provide a timely remedy for the situation. I have since taken it to have work done for a permanent code (caused by the recall), and spent time and money trying to resolve the safety issue that the manufacturer has failed to. I am concerned that I am driving a car with a safety issue that has not yet been resolved after nearly 9 months.
