The front seat has air bags in it for massage and adjustment features. These airbags expand and cant be adjusted down pushing you into the sterering making it unsafe to drive. I took my 2023 Jeep grand wagoneer to the dealer on 4-7-26 and the part that failed is 68608275ab. Thisa part is on national back order. The vehicle is very difficult to drive with the seat in this condition. We are still wiating for this part however we must to continue to drive this unsafe vehicle that had a price tag of $112k. I spoje with the mfr and they had no help except to email me weekly for a parts update. There are no warning lights when this happens.
- comfort control module (ccm) for driver's seat and passenger seat. - malfunction/failure of ccm caused seat lumbar/bolsters to automatically overinflate beyond maximum with no response from seat controls. - on or about 11/07/25, passenger seat back lumbar automatically overinflated beyond maximum, while passenger was seated, causing passenger to be pushed forward against seat belt. Overinflation caused seat back panel to bulge out as well. Seat would not respond to controls to deflate lumbar. Pulled vehicle over so passenger could unbuckle and seat themselves in rear seat. Immediately inspected by local dealer/service center on 11/10/25. Ccm was replaced under warranty (34,453/36,000 miles) and have not experienced issue since. - on 02/17/26, driver seat back thigh bolsters automatically inflated beyond maximum while driver was seated, causing driver to shift in seat due to bolster digging into hip and thigh. Overinflation caused clip securing seat cover to cushion/frame to become detached as well. Seat would not respond to controls to deflate lumbar. Other seat controls began inflate/deflate automatically. Immediately inspected by local dealer/service center on 02/19/26 and was told module needed replacement outside of warranty (42,000/36,000 miles) to the cost of $1,573. 83.
On October 20, 2025, at approximately 2:00 pm, while driving on the highway to pick up my children from school, the driver-side back cushion (airbag/cushion system) in my seat unexpectedly deployed or inflated with significant force, striking my back. The impact was strong enough to leave a visible mark, which I have documented with photographs. As a result, I experienced immediate back pain and was at serious risk of losing control of the vehicle due to the sudden and forceful nature of the incident. I immediately contacted my doctor’s office following the incident. My physician confirmed that the injury was consistent with trauma caused by the seat mechanism. I then contacted the dealership where I purchased the vehicle. I was instructed to drop off the vehicle and leave the keys in an envelope. On the morning of October 21, 2025, I received a text message from the dealership indicating an initial estimate of $117. 65. I called the dealership to request a written report of their findings and to inquire whether there were any recalls or service bulletins related to this issue. I was informed that no recalls or service bulletins existed and that I would be required to pay for further evaluation. The dealership declined to take responsibility for the issue and also stated they could not provide a written report. As of this date, the vehicle remains at the dealership with no resolution, updates, or further communication provided. This is a serious safety concern that requires immediate attention and proper documentation.
The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notifications of NHTSA campaign numbers: 25v472000 (seats) and 25v576000 (electrical system); however, parts for the recall repairs were not yet available. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal before the vehicle stalled. An unknown message about the hybrid mode and gasoline mode was displayed. The contact was able to coast to the side of the road. The vehicle was restarted, and the system reset independently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was determined that the battery pack control module (bpcm) had failed. The vehicle was not repaired due to the part not being available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that before the vehicle stalled, there had been issues with the electrical system. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 13,741.
Assessment of ongoing mechanical & safety issues – 2023 Jeep grand wagoneer to whom it may concern, I am providing a clear, factual assessment of the ongoing issues with my 2023 Jeep grand wagoneer, which I purchased for $108,000 and have owned for less than two years. During this time, I have experienced twelve separate mechanical and functional failures, several of which have rendered the vehicle undriveable for prolonged periods. Below is a summary of the major issues that continue to impact the reliability, safety, and usability of this vehicle. 1. Seat / massage mechanism defect (ongoing for months) a malfunction in the seat massage system has created a large, hard protrusion in the driver’s seat. This defect has resulted in significant back pain, requiring both urgent care and follow-up medical evaluation. I have now been diagnosed with sciatica, which my physician has indicated is likely related to prolonged pressure and improper spinal support caused by the seat malfunction. Two dealerships have confirmed the issue and ordered the replacement part months ago, yet the part delivery has been repeatedly delayed, most recently to January 6, 2026. This has affected my ability to safely and comfortably operate the vehicle, and has now escalated into a documented medical issue. 2. Suspension noise during auto-leveling the vehicle’s air suspension system produces extremely loud noises during auto-adjustments. This raises concerns regarding the safety and structural integrity of the suspension system. 3. Window hinge failure a window hinge has prematurely failed, requiring service intervention. This is not consistent with typical wear for a vehicle less than two years old. 4. Cruise control malfunction the cruise control system intermittently ceases functioning while driving. The only way to restore it is to turn the vehicle off and restart it, which presents a safety concern when traveling at highway speeds. This points to a possible electrical or.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? while driving, the passenger seat side airbag deployed unexpectedly. I was moving slowly, just starting to cross an intersection after a traffic light turned green, when the airbag in the passenger seat “exploded” without warning. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? the sudden loud noise startled me. This caused me to panic while in an active intersection. When I saw the seat airbag deploy, I became extremely concerned that my own seat could also explode, potentially causing injury to my back. The fear and distraction while driving put both my safety and that of surrounding drivers at risk. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? no. There were no warning lamps, messages, sounds, or any other symptoms before the airbag deployed. The failure occurred suddenly without any prior indication.
Hybrid electric system warning light on while driving with my family on the highway, difficulty with the rear seat headrests, fresh engine oil residue on the underbody. On two occasions, the vehicle remained on and was unresponsive, and all the lights on the dashboard came on, displaying lights and warnings for faults in the hybrid system and battery. It didn't respond when I tried to turn it off. As this may put my safety and that of my family at risk.
I was driving my kids to school when the driver seat moved forward on its own and pushed me against the steering wheel. I was able to remain calm and thankfully and move the seat back. Very scary.
The driver seatback (backrest) moves forward spontaneously while driving, and will pin the driver against the steering wheel if you don't press the backrest control button on the side of the seat again. This is incredibly dangerous and unacceptable. This is the second time I will bring in the car to the dealer to address this same issue.
The program saving seat are never the same. It seems to be the random positions and constant adjusting of the seats . I took it to the dealer and they performed a re programming per a service bulletin. It didn't help. Took it back today and they can't find anything wrong with it. No codes and they confirmed the previous programming took and is up to date.
