36 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 04/20/2023

Crunk up the vehicle to leave work and power steering immediately went out, messages and warning lights saying lane departure and blind spot warning were unavailable. No issues prior to this. I drive it to work with no issues or warning lights. I had it towed to dealership because it was unable to be driven. Thank god I was just in a parking lot and not driving down the highway when this happened. It can cause a wreck, killing myself and or another person in the vehicle with me as well as other people involved in the crash. Dealership gave me the run around and I was not able to speak with just one person. Nobody there was communicating with each other causing more chaos and frustration. This Jeep only has 3,315 miles on it so it should not be doing this.

37 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 03/26/2023

Upon startup power steering was disabled and the console message "power steering available service required". Blind spot detection and lane departure also showed as in-op. Wheel was very hard to turn. After traveling a few hundred feet I determined that the car was not safe to drive. After two vehicle restarts the problem cleared. If this happened at speed, in traffic, a serious accident is likely. Dealership is unable to look at problem for weeks. This is a serious safety issue which requires immediate attention from NHTSA!.

43 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 06/29/2022

The uconnect display on my vehicle is phantom pressing buttons, going to different screens, turning things on and off as I drive. Yesterday, I was put in a extremely unsafe situation with my vehicle where the uconnect screen turned off my blind spot detection. I was unaware until I attempted to merge into another lane and hit another car!!! I called uconnect and Jeep and they told me they won’t do anything because I’m not the first owner of the car and that it can’t be replaced but for 1,000 of dollars. I feel like this should be repaired by courtesy because this is a safety issue.

44 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 05/13/2022

My vehicle has a faulty front camera system that began at around 1800 miles. When driving, multiple lights will illuminate on the dash. The cruise control, blind spot monitoring, lane keep system, and emergency automatic brakes will shut off. It has been in the shop off and on since may 13,2022. Dealership has been replaced multiple parts, but is unable to get camera system to recalibrate and function properly. Car manufacturer, Jeep, has gotten involved and can not seem to figure out what is wrong either.

45 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 04/23/2022

With 173 miles on the vehicle, I went to start the vehicle and the power steering, electronic stability control, blind spot monitoring, and lane assist lights all went on. The power steering did not work and I was unable to back out of my parking space. I repeatedly turned the car on and off and the lights persisted for at least an hour. After an hour, all lights went off and I was able to drive the vehicle. This could have been extremely unsafe if this had occurred while the vehicle was in motion. This also was problematic as I was stranded in a parking lot late at night. I immediately took it into the dealer and they cannot reproduce the problem and I am driving a loaner as I do not feel safe in the brand new vehicle. No warning lights came on prior to this problem appearing.

46 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 03/29/2022

I have a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee trailhawk currently around 33,500 miles. I bought this vehicle new and have been having issues with it since I got it. I hear electrical crackling and popping throughout the cabin, mostly in the dashboard. I thought at first it was the adaptive cruise or forward braking system engaging, but the sound seems to be completely random. A common symptom is the speakers, microphones, and speaker-based safety alerts are completely cut out. If I'm on a call, the person on the other end will not be able to hear me until the speakers come back. Some of the systems that do not work as intended include: -- radio/siriusxm/apple carplay/android auto (no sound) -- uconnect voice command (no sound/mic) -- parking sensors (no proximity alerts) -- usb ports (slow charge and do not recognize phones) -- forward collison alerts (no sound) -- navigation alerts (no sound) -- blind spot alerts (no sound) I've tried the system with the following phones (with oem and high-quality aftermarket wires) on at&t, verizon, mint: -- iphone xs -- iphone 12 -- iphone 13 pro max -- samsung galaxy note 8 -- samsung galaxy note 20 -- samsung galaxy note 22 -- samsung z flip my Jeep has the panasonic uconnect system. I've attached pictures of the type & imei etc. This issue causes a direct safety concern when an alert doesn't activate or a when the loud electronic distortion comes through the speakers that will cannot be turned off—causing me to have to pull over and turn the car off for the sake of my hearing.

47 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 02/26/2022

There is an issue that according to a document that the dealer gave me and is related to rear camera component fault stored in the radio (code e b21 7a-9a) they say they have no solution to the issue. When placing the change of the vehicle in reverse, the radio does not project any image, it is a high vehicle and the visibility is somewhat poor.

48 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 01/01/2022

Power steering randomly goes out and random electrical issues and faulty sensors indicators. Vehicle has 8,000 miles I fear for my safety to safely operate this vehicle putting my life in danger and others on the highway.

49 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 12/05/2021

-the new 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee l-limited was made to be a third, row off-road, all weather driven vehicle. #1: the front windshield is flush with the front pillars. This causes accumulated snow or off-road dirt to easily be pushed to the driver side window (with no way to wash off) and blocking the driver’s side mirror. This makes it impossible to to use the blind spot light on the side mirror. In my case, I had audio alarm turned off as not to wake the kids while driving across the country. So I had a couple of near misses until I was able to stop, clean the driver’s window and turn the blind spot alarm back on. This is not a big deal if driving in clear rain, just not off-road or snow. It’s available for inspection whenever needed. -our safety was placed at risk by creating a blind spot, making my driver’s side mirror and sensor obsolete. This created me nearly striking the cars beside me. -I just returned from the dealership(puyallup-larsen Jeep)an hour ago and the staff admitted it was a flaw. They actually recommend I go buy some aftermarket window lip, that does not exist. It was disgraceful to say the least for them to admit a flaw and suggest I fix it on my own, after having my car for 8 hours and it having 3500 miles on it. -no warning lights other than the blind spot sensors activating that I could be sure was activated or not. #2: the third row seat over heated the phone charging cord, causing light cabin smoke and burning a slight hole in the gym bag. My 7 y/o twins were woken up and advised me she think she smelled smoke. I figured it was nothing, it a brand new vehicle. She said “something is burning dad”. I turned the cabin light on as my 14 y/o said she now smelled something in the second row. I saw a light fog and immediately pulled over, ran to the back and yanked out the cord out of the car. The cord was overheated to my touch. The cord had burned the plastic bag the happy meal toy was inside. Available for inspection whenever.

51 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 11/17/2020

Recently submitted a claim. Had to tow to my dealership and was just notified that the transmission is also malfunctioning. I have notified my dealer if these exact recalls at this website for this make and model and they are telling me it does not apply to my vehicle. Bizarre. Please help. I've only had this car 8 months.

52 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 06/25/2020

I was driving down the road and all of a sudden all the lights on the dash lit up and then the vehicle completely shut down, with no power. This happened while I was driving, so thank god it happen late when there was no traffic. I immediately smelled electrical burning and there was absolutely no power to the vehicle. I had to have the vehicle towed to the dealership. The dealership determined that the alternator burned up and damaged the battery. This exact issue is recall t36 but Jeep states that that recall does not apply to my vehicle because I have a 220amp alternator. Obviously, if my vehicle experienced the exact same symptom that the t36 recall is for, the 220amp alternator is also affected. The initial repair cost me $1500. A month later I had to have another repair for $3000, due to electrical issues, where the parking assist and blind spot assist modules went out, along with a headlamp motor assembly. It has been 3 months since that repair and now I have more electrical issues. The check engine light has come on again and I get a service 4wd system, the heat is intermittent, and my temp gauge doesn't move. I have been emailing back and forth with Jeep customer care but they just keep saying that the t36 alternator issue doesn't apply to my vehicle.
