Windows just fall down for no reason. The repair costs around $400. 00. Searching the internet this is a real huge problems with the Jeep line of cars. Thousands of complaints and Jeep refuses to see this as their fault. This is clearly design fault, and should be covered in a massive recall.

I bought a 2002 Jeep grand cherokee and 5 days later the passenger side window fell into the door while my pregnant wife was driving. Had she been driving a long distance in the winter this could have been very dangerous. I know that might sound like a long shot but it could happen.

Upon general use the plastic pin in the window regulator (driver's side front) broke dropping the window down into the door. I contacted the Chrysler dealer only to be told that they cannot keep these in stock as this is a common occurrence. I was told they will not issue a recall because this is not a safety issue. However, at the time it was 20 degrees below zero and I had a 6 month old baby in the car. I have not fixed it yet as there are so many replacements for this that the one for my vehicle has not been found and the cost is very steep. Chrysler has admitted that this was a poor design and has since been changed. I feel they should fix my car at their expense.
