Unknown Or Other problem #1

Key would not turn on car. Opened up steering column to find small rod that pushes button on ignition was broken. Jeep dealership says cannot replace rod has to replace entire steering column.

Unknown Or Other problem #2

Power failure of the motor for the rear power windows. The windows have failed twice in a year.

Unknown Or Other problem #3

I was driving my 2002 Jeep Liberty and was raising the windows up and the window of the back passenger side fell into the door. These are electronic windows. I was lucky that none of my children were hurt. Luckily, the window did not break and I was able to open the door. This is the third time that this has happened in my car. I feel there is a faulty part that Jeep does not want to address. It is a plastic part in the window regulator. It cost me $400 dollars the first time to replace the part. The second one Jeep replaced for free. I just got off the phone and Jeep does not feel responsible for replacing it again. I am not sure if I want to get it replaced again or just fine some way to keep the window up. I am very frustrated because I do not want to replace it with a part that will just break again.

Unknown Or Other problem #4

Rear back passenger window was fixed(regulator) 2 yrs. Ago. Now same problem has reoccured, I called the Jeep recall number and they tell me there is no recall for the 2002 Jeep Liberty, I think that is negligence on their part as a auto company not respecting that this is a widespread problem, I am 1 out of thousands of people with the same exact problem. With the window going down at any given time it poses a problem for the glass to shatter creating a problem for whomever is in the back seat. I am very upset that the dealership won't acknowledge this problem, I need them to understand it is a mechanical fault of theirs.

Unknown Or Other problem #5

Rear window regulator assembly had to be replaced. 3rd time in past 16 months.

Unknown Or Other problem #6

I am experiencing a rattling sound when driving uphill or downhill through driveway, traveling 5-20 miles an hour. I took my Jeep 2002 Liberty 2wd to get serviced and received recommended repairs: prosteer control arm with ball joint upper center, remove and install propeller shaft to replace universal joints on both ends, rear wheel bearings, tail pipe is welded to muffler, muffler does not meet design specifications and should be replaced due to exhaust leak as well, remove rack and pinion, complete rack as does not meet design specifications and is leaking. I was driving about 25 mph and my rear right side tire was smoking profusely. I pulled over and noticed the gray smoke from my tire. I took the car to check the rear breaks. They were fine but was told that I had a leak from the exhaust pipe which dripped on to that area. The car has 75,806 miles. I was told that I could loose control of vehicle and entire area can collapse during traffic due to these issues. Aside from these issues, I am experiencing a whistling sound, problems with rear drivers side passenger power window regulator which produces grind-like sound. The window came off and I was told that I needed a new regulator for the window. I'm also experiencing a red stain in engine oil drippage on ground. Finally, strange odor from car -odor continues to be present whether I wash the carpets and seats (smells like mold/mildew or skunk).

Unknown Or Other problem #7

On Dec 8, 2008 I picked up my Jeep Liberty from my mechanic, he had replaced the transmission oil pan that rusted out and drained all the transmission oil out. On January 6, 2009 on my way to work early in the morning the transmission blew out totally, I was able to get back home and once again the mechanic has the Liberty replacing the transmission. I feel the transmission oil pan rusting out and leaking caused the transmission blowout a month later. The check engine light did come on in December and I had an appointment to have the engine looked at when the whole pan blew out. The transmission totally dropping in January could have caused a major accident if I were driving later, and I feel this could cause major accidents on the roadways across the nation. I have complained via the webpage at Jeep to no avail, this should be at least a recall on these vehicles.

Unknown Or Other problem #8

Air conditioning unit works for approximately 10 minutes and then starts blowing warm air. Clutch on ac compressor found to be disengaging causing the ac to turn off. Did not have repair done since it will cost $1000 on a 4yo vehicle.

Unknown Or Other problem #9

Plastic dust shield on shifter assembly broke off in cold weather. Shop estimate of nearly $400 to replace entire shift assembly since plastic piece cannot be fixed on its own.

Unknown Or Other problem #10

Dealer will not fix my safety recall. [the recall that has not been fixed is the safety recall # f23- lower ball joints. *smch].

Unknown Or Other problem #11

Faulty rear window regulators. To date have had the right and left rear window regulators replaced six times. 7/2006 right regulator, 6/2007 left regulator, 7/2007 right regulator, 9/2008 right and left regulator, 8/2010 left regulator. It is 2011 and they are both now broke again and are now being held up with tape. I continue to pay out of pocket to have them replaced as Chrysler continues to make me pay a CO-pay which in the past has been $150. I refuse now to pay to replace them anymore and believe Chrysler has a duty to make a permanent fix for the regulators.

Unknown Or Other problem #12

Air conditioner blowing out hot air, took car to auto dealer, they check it out charge me 74. 95, and said the problem was condensor leaking, well this didn't get repair do til said that I would have to payest. Of 455. 00, I call Chrysler corp and they said that they was not paying to fix, only have 50,931 miles, they claim a rock had did this, I hope this is not true seeking for help thank's.

Unknown Or Other problem #13

While driving at any speed consumer heard a loud noise coming from the rear and vehicle vibrated. Vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic determined that the rear coil springs needed to be replaced due to worn out parts. The brakes made noise when applied. The blower motor for the heat failed and the a/c was inoperative.

Unknown Or Other problem #14

Chrysler had a recall on the ball joint of a Jeep Liberty. Today while driving my car began making a noise and was difficult to brake and steer. I called the dealer and he said bring it down. I asked if it was safe to drive as I explained the problem to him. He said he could not tell me that but to bring it right down. I did then I had to hang around since everyone was at lunch. Within two minutes they told me it was the ball joint and Chrysler had put out a recall. I said I did not get notice. They said it was Chrysler responsibility. However, they also said they only have 20 new ones as there is a shortage. When I searched on the web today this recall can cause a person to lose control of their car. Luckily I did not. But I believe Chrysler has a responsibility to notify the owners immediately before they lose control of the car.

Unknown Or Other problem #15

A bolt with a built on washer dropped from dash between windshield and steering column. It was a large bolt, and didn't know what it was for. Contacted dealer, and dealer stated to bring in vehicle. &.
