I filed a complaint with a representative from Chrysler and it is shown on the previous page. . However, a couple of things aren't as I described them to her. We received 3 recalls and took the Jeep to mtn. View in ringgold GA on July 28/2014. The recalls were for trailer hitch, air bags and seatbelts. . We were there for approximately 4 hours and were told we were ready to leave. A few (3) miles towards home the air bag light came on-we had stopped at a vegetable stand and immediately turned around and went back to the dealer ship. . They were not happy. . After about 35-40 minutes a guy comes out and said it was our battery!! that we needed to purchase a new one. . We left and started home again and just a couple of miles up the road the light came on and has continued to stay on. . On the other information the girl took she said we did not take the car back to the dealership-but it was not fixed. . I called and filed a complaint because of the harsh treatment and the problem was not solved and because medicine belonging to my husband had been taken out of the console. . She suggested I notify Chrysler and then gave me and odi # 10618678. Chrysler said it was reported the airbag module and a ball joint had been replaced. . .
The air bag light is on and we took the vehicle in to have the recall fixed (orc module) the dealership installed a jumper wire as part of the recall but said the orc module is bad. I contacted Jeep corporation about getting the module replaced but they said it had not been recalled, just the filter for it. After checking online I have found several people who have been told the same thing and it seems to me the so called "fix" is not the actual problem. The dealership wants $460 to replace the module which in my opinion is what should have been recalled. I am sending this as a way of documenting what has been done and not done if the air bags malfunction as I have read in my research.
I received a safety recall notice over one year ago for a defective occupant restraint control module. I immediately called the local Jeep dealer to schedule an appointment for repair; however, they stated that replacement parts were not yet available. I called one month ago, and, again, parts were not available. For the last 3 weeks, my airbag light has been lighting up for long periods. Please advise.

On sept 18,2013 I took my 2002 Jeep Liberty in to get recall m35 wire harness installed so my airbag light will finally go off and not stay on all the time, took mertens garage 2 hrs to install it, I drove down the road one mile and airbag light came back on again, I took it back to dealership, they told me the recall was for the wire harness any other problems wouldn't be covered. I was not very happy with my results and how I was treated, since I bought my Jeep brand new from this dealership. Iam scared to drive my Jeep with my kids in there in case the airbag would go off on its own! what can I do since iam still having problems with airbag light coming on?? please get back to me. Thank you renee hollinger.

Item #1 occupant restraint control (orc). I am chagrined with the tardiness of Jeep/Chrysler motors corporation in their tardy compliance with this recall (12v-527). Originally issued on January 3, 2013, my daughter (former owner of this vehicle) visited a Jeep dealer in washington DC. They said "no parts are yet available. . . We will contact you when they are". At a later day (may 2013) my daughter visited the local Jeep dealer (courtesy motor sales, inc. , altoona PA) and inquired about the problem. . . Again "we cannot get the parts, they are not available". I purchased the vehicle from my daughter and have visited courtesy motor sales twice since I purchased (latest August 27, 2013) with the same answer "we don't have the parts available and we will contact you when they arrive"! it is inconceivable that replacement parts are not being made available for this very dangerous problem! at the present time I am unable to drive the vehicle as the air bag light is now on constantly and the recall notes that . . . . . "a damaged computer chip could cause the airbag light to illuminate, followed almost immediately by an inadvertent deployment of the front airbags (liberty and grand cherokee). . . . . . ". The recall notice continues by stating that "inavertent deployment of the airbags may increase the risk of injury and the possibility of a vehicle crash". How many more injuries and possibilities of crashing must it take to get action on this? in conclusion, I cannot understand why your recalls are not being "tended to" in an expedient manner. I am getting "lip service" and you are being ignored. If either of these recall problems do happen, both your organization (for not enforcing in a timely manner) and Chrysler motor corporation (for delaying remedy) will be the responsible parties.

The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000. Sw.
Learned thru internet search that there are 2 recalls on my 2002 Jeep Liberty: (1) unwarranted airbag deployment and (2) possible gas tank explosion if rear-ended. I called the Jeep customer service line and talked to a matt, who confirmed both recall items. He said I would receive a letter from Jeep telling me how to proceed, but that at this time the parts needed to fix both recall problems were back-ordered. So I am driving a car in which the air bags might explode at any time (my airbag light comes on and off at will) and if I am rear-ended there is a good likelihood that my gas tank will explode. What am I to do if one of these occurs while I'm waiting for the Jeep notification and/or replacements part to be in stock? I am afraid to drive my car now, but have no other options available. What do I do?.
2002 Jeep Liberty. Consumer writes in regards to air bag system occupant restraint control module recall notice. The consumer received a recall notice in late 2012, early 2013. The consumer continued to drive the vehicle, while waiting for Chrysler to notify him, as to when the parts would be available. On or about August 4, 2013, the air bag light illuminated and it continued to come on every time the vehicle was driven, usually after a minute or two after starting to drive. The light would go out, and come back on. There was also a beep, when the light illuminated.
Recently, the airbag light has been illuminating when I start the engine. It does not go off while driving. The only way it goes off is to re-start the vehicle. Sometimes it takes several re-starts to turn the light off. After reading some articles online, I am worried that my airbags may spontaneously deploy.
I live in puerto rico and have a 2002 Jeep Liberty sport. As explained by many owners, I received the notification from Chrysler in regards to the m35 safety recall. I didn't gave to much attention since nothing happened since the notification was received. By surprise on Sunday night the air bag light starting appearing in the panel going on and off. It happens like 5 times why vehicle was in movement. I called today July 23,to the number in the letter and by surprise they still have the part in backorder. The person check the VIN and transfer me to the pr office. Guess what, puerto rico office couldn't gave me any information since all they know is that the part is on backorder. The person named marie couldn't gave me any solution to the issue. But who is going to be responsible if by any chance the air bag get's open and I have an accident?is Chrysler prepared to get demands from drivers due to any accidents this issue may cause? I called again the us office and spoke with to michael, who explained that in us the dealers are giving prioirty to those cars that are giving the issue, which I understand is a plan b while they receive enough parts to do all the vehicles. In pr, sorry no plan b is available neather a waiting list. I was transfered again to the pr line in order to see if they were doing a waiting list, but nothing. I asked marie to transfer me to the manager or general manager of the pr office but mr. Neftali rodriguez was not able to talk to me since he was in another call, but he advise marie to tell me that thre was no more info. Can someone advise me to whom I should address this issue? I undestand this is a serious situation and the same loop but nothing is being done. I will continue to inform this issue to the Chrysler headquarters since this is really serious. Is the ntsa taking any action?, please let me know.

2002 Jeep Liberty. Consumer writes in regards to defective air bag system recall notice. The consumer had been in contact with her local dealer since November 9, 2012, about the air bag defect when she first learned of the recall. She explained that the air bag light was on, and she was concerned, since she is a small adult, that must sit close to the steering wheel. The dealer informed her, there was nothing they could do, except to put her on a waiting list, and they would notify her, when the parts arrived. Her last call to the dealer was may 6, 2013 and she was given the same information.
Notice of m35 recall received via post card on 3/5/13 from our local dealership. I have called the dealership three times and Chrysler company customer service two times to see if the part is finally in to fix the airbag circuit so it will deploy properly. No one has an expected date of repair. The most recent calls were made today since our airbag light is now starting to come on periodically. I am afraid to drive the vehicle in light of this new development. Hasn't enough time passed for the part to be manufactured since the recall actually came out in January? help!.
Received recall notice m35/NHTSA 12v-527 in January. Called Chrysler group recall assistance center on may 24 and was told the part was still not available. They still don't know when it will be. When asked what Chrysler suggests a person should do if this is their primary means of transportation, and it is clearly unsafe to drive if the air bag could deploy unexpectedly. I was told that Chrysler has no suggestions, and that there have been no accidents or injuries caused by the defect covered in the recall. After reading reports on this website, it would appear as if that is not true information. Airbag light stays on while vehicle is running. No failure as of the filing of this complaint.

My air bag light kept coming on and off over a span of a couple of weeks, after researching online we found the recall on the air bag sensor. We followed up with Chrysler and they told us to call our local Jeep dealer to set up and appointment to have it fixed. Our Jeep dealer could not do this due to the fact that they do not have the part in stock. We kept calling Chrysler and the dealer for the past several months and they both have no answers for us. The part has not been delivered to the dealer to have this recall fixed. My car failed safety inspection and I now have a red r reject sticker on my Jeep. The part has been delivered to the warehouses and the Jeep dealer said it may still take a couple month to get the part.
