5 Window Regulator Failed problem

Failure Date: 11/03/2010

Yet again, a complaint against the faulty window regulator in the Jeep Liberty. I've had 2 window regulators fail in the last 3 weeks. There needs to be a recall on this and Jeep needs to be held accountable for the faulty part.

6 Window Regulator Failed problem

Failure Date: 10/15/2010

My vehicle, a 2006 Jeep Liberty, has a recurring problem with window regulators failing. It has happened to me twice. The windows fall down into the doors creating a major safety hazard. The falling window startled me and it happened during a downpour, creating a major driving distraction. There are thousands of complaints about this problem on the internet, but Chrysler has not issued a recall. They should do so immediately.

7 Window Regulator Failed problem

Failure Date: 09/20/2010

It is common that 2006 Jeep Liberty window regulators fail frequently. I have had all 4 of my windows fail; two of the windows have failed a second time following dealer repair. Although the rear windows are rarely used, both have fallen completely into the door while I was driving. This is clearly a dangerously flawed design that should be corrected by Jeep/Chrysler.

8 Window Regulator Failed problem

Failure Date: 09/15/2010

Window regulator failed on driver side rear window in 2007. Regulator was replaced and covered by factory warranty. Window regulator failed on passenger rear window in 2010, not covered by factory warranty. By 2010, the window regulator had an updated design that required a new window to be purchased in addition to the regulator, as the old window would not fit properly with the new regulator.

9 Window Regulator Failed problem

Failure Date: 06/07/2010

2006 Jeep Liberty. The window regulator failed again, this is the third time on the passenger side front. Every window has failed at least once, some twice. This should be recalled. I have searched the internet for the last couple of years on this and have found hundreds of similar owners with this problem yet nothing seems to be done about it. Where is the quality and care for the consumer?.

10 Window Regulator Failed problem

Failure Date: 05/21/2010

Window regulator failure. Window spontaneously falls down. Have had this problem 5 times now (obviously one window twice). Chrysler needs to fix it.

11 Window Regulator Failed problem

Failure Date: 03/10/2010

The window regulators fail on recurring basis. The front driver side window regulator failed twice and the front passenger window regulator failed recently. Two different dealers recognized this as a common failure item but charges approx $600 per repair because my Jeep is out of warranty. The dealers stated the regulator piece failing on recurring basis is made of plastic.

12 Window Regulator Failed problem

Failure Date: 02/22/2010

Beginning on February 22, the first of three (3) window regulators failed in this vehicle. The first was the driver side rear passenger window, second was the driver's door window (6 days later) and the third was the right rear passenger window which failed yesterday (3/4/10). The rear windows have seldom been open since purchasing the vehicle new in 2006. Two of the windows slid/dropped open completely while the vehicle was underway while the third dropped open upon closing the right rear door.

13 Window Regulator Failed problem

Failure Date: 08/21/2009

I bought a 2006 Jeep Liberty limited on 8-20-09 in excellent condition with approximately 50,000 miles. Before I even drove the car off the dealerships lot, the rear driver's-side window/window regulator failed rendering the window inoperable. Dealership did not have part and had to seal in up position so as not to fall, while part is being ordered. Upon extensive research on the internet on various highly respected car review/rating sites, I have learned that the 2006 Jeep Liberty has a known defect in quality of window regulator design and material used which causes windows to drop into doors or cease operating routinely on average of every 2-3 months. Yesterday while driving, my rear passenger window dropped while I was driving 65 mph on a major highway in traffic. I was subsequently startled to the point I swerved, and narrowly missed hitting another car which would have caused a multiple car collision on a major interstate. I have since taped my window in the "up" position until I can resolve this issue with dealer. Dealership has informed me that they will only cover this first replacement/repair, and that I will be responsible for future window regulator repairs of $500. 00 each. This is absolutely unacceptable. A company/dealership should stand 100% behind their product and should certainly address potential safety issues resulting from something as critical as this. The known window regulator failure could cause accidents, bodily injury, theft/vandalism issues, and depreciation and degradation of vehicle interior due to weather damage. I will be filing complaints with state attorney general and car manufacturer/corporate headquarters. A safety recall should immediately be issued, and these window regulators should be redesigned with something other than plastic that has proven to repeatedly fail. While certainly an inconvenience of time, and a financial drain and stress to consumer, this is most assuredly a very serious danger to occupants & other drivers.
