My 2007 Jeep Liberty has yet again had another window break due to their faulty brackets installed by Jeep. This is the second window of mine to go out in less than a year. At first the window was having trouble go up by itself and then yesterday it made a popping noise and the glass fell down completely and will not come back up. This should be recalled there is no doubt about it.

7 Side/rear Glass problem

Failure Date: 04/17/2010

I own a 2007 Jeep Liberty. In April 2010, I had to have the power window regulator, motor and glass (nothing wrong with the glass) for the driver side front and rear replaced. Of course the warranty expired. I was told that the regulator failed but I had to have all replaced. I was told that the design for the 2007 regulator was changed and that is why I had to have all replaced at a cost of $425. 00 each. Now the passenger side rear window just dropped down into the door without warning (Aug 25,2010). I assume that I will have to have the regulator, motor and glass (again nothing wrong with the glass) replaced at another $425. 00. I am just waiting for the front passenger side glass to fall into the door and have to replace that also. I have searched the internet and found thousands of complaints regarding this issue. Some have had to have the regulators replaced three or four times. Yet there is no recall. This is a disgrace. It is totally unfair for the owners of these vehicles to have to continue to shell out this kind of money over and over again when there is clearly a design flaw. How many complaints will it take before they issue a recall? [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

8 Side/rear Glass problem

Failure Date: 12/09/2009

The contact owns 2007 Jeep Liberty 4x4. While the vehicle was stationary, the contact stated the rear passenger side automatic window released in a downward motion without assistance. The vehicle was in the process of being repaired at the dealer. The identical failure occurred previously with the front driver side automatic window in which the window regulator and glass were replaced. The failure mileage was 45,000.

9 Side/rear Glass problem

Failure Date: 11/23/2009

Driver's window began to slide almost immediately after purchase in Dec. 2008. Back passenger window stuck about 2 inches down and then suddenly came crashing down while I was on the interstate. It nearly scared me to death! the back window is in the door. We try to keep the window covered and are not currently driving the vehicle because we can't afford the repair right now. Occasionally the wind pulls the protective covering off, and we have rain stains on the seats as a result. My understanding is they no longer make this regulator because it is faulty, so the glass have to be replaced also with the new regulator at a cost of about $500 per window. This is crazy for the consumer to have to pay for a faulty product. I have contacted Jeep, but they do not seem concerned. I am shocked and saddened to find so many complaints about the same thing and for Chrysler/Jeep not be held accountable.

10 Side/rear Glass problem

Failure Date: 11/10/2009

Replaced the rear power window regulator and glass for the second time this year. They assured me it would not happen again after the first repair since they used am improved part. Dealer states this time Jeep knows of this defect but "can't find a supplier with decent parts" so people are forced to make the same repair over and over. When this happens, I am unable to close the window, causing a safety issue when driving and parking the vehicle in lots.

11 Side/rear Glass problem

Failure Date: 07/26/2009

Jeep Liberty, 2007 - rear windows fall into door panel while driving or parked. My children sit in the back seat of my vehicle when moving and my daughter had her fingers pulled into the window pocket. Another time the weather was cold with hard rain and the window just dropped, I'm in traffic, I was distracted by incident and it took several minutes to pull off the highway and cover the open window area with a blanket and again there were children in the back seat. The defective regulator on the Jeep Liberty and other Jeeps has been reported numerous times by consumers who have had to replace the equipment in the same vehicle 4 or more times. Chrysler/Jeep refuses to correct the problem which results in the window glass falling into the door, leaving windows open while children or animals are in the vehicle and leaves the vehicle vulnerable if locked and parked anywhere. This failure accurs in over 75 % of the Jeep vehicles and once the part is replaced can fail again within a month. This is not just an expensive inconvenience it does effect the safety of individuals in the vehicle when moving and when vehicle is parked and locked.

12 Side/rear Glass problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2009

2007 Jeep Liberty. Consumer writes in regards to left rear window falling down. The consumer stated the window would not roll back up. The consumer's husband managed to grab enough of the glass to pull it up. In December of 2010, the consumer received a letter which extended the warranty for the problem. However, it was only extended to seven years from the date of service, which in her case was July 2, 2007. On March 15, 2011, the right rear window was repaired after falling down. On June 13, 2013, the left rear window was repaired for a second time, and on August 21, 2014 the left front window failed again.

13 Side/rear Glass problem

Failure Date: 01/07/2009

Component: visibility:power window devices and controls details: the window regulator in my Jeep goes out it is a manufacturer defect in the making of the vehicle, it has already happened to my vehicle 3 times in 8 months and gm refuses to recall it. It is a safety issue because the window just fall out of trac k. Cost is not affordable each time @ $500 to fix it. Also the fix is total replacement of parts and window glass because the window glass will not fit the new parts? um then maybe it should be recalled because they know if it is fixed with the same parts it will not stay fixed!!!!!!!.

14 Side/rear Glass problem

The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that the passenger side rear window fell down in between the door and will not come back up. This prevented the door from opening.
