Wiper problems of the 2007 Jeep Liberty

The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that the vehicle windows failed to open and close. The contact called a local dealer (berwick Dodge located at 1127 pine st berwick, PA 18603) where it was diagnosed that the windows needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was advised of the failure, but did not offer any assistance. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage was 52,000.

Rear passenger window has fallen into the door. This is a very common complaint among this make, model, and year. And it appears that all four windows are at risk of the same defect. Not sure when this happened, probably while stationary at night.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the rear passenger door window was replaced. In addition, the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the rear and front driver side door windows were replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 82,000.

Window regulators replaced on three separate windows starting in 2010, and one in 2013 and now 2014. Dealership said only lift plate has extended warranty, not the regulator. Yet my dealership (two since 2010) told me it's the regulator. It's only a matter of time before the 4th one goes out. I'm sick of paying for this when two of the windows that broke I have never rolled down except to clean. And one regulator broke while the dealership was cleaning it. If it breaks upon cleaning, that is a big issue and I want it covered and reimbursed for my costs. .

The front wiper and rear wiper stopped working simultaneously. Checked and replaced fuses but did that did not fix the problem. Was told by a mechanic that it is an electrical problem and will cost quite a bit to find/replace the issue.

On 3/19/13 the rear passenger window dropped into the door frame while the vehicle was not moving, sitting in driveway. Vehicle repaired under 2006/2007 recall by dealer. On 7/16/14 the front passenger window dropped into the door-frame and the vehicle was sitting the driveway again. This was reported to Chrysler claims and the August Dodge Chrysler Jeep dealership at 1201 greenville Ave, staunton, va 24401 (540)885-0875 on 7/16/14. Spoke to julie, employee id je779 refused claim on 7/16/14, because of mileage. She was informed that the window was never properly repaired on the former recall. On both occasions the window completely just fell out on its own, just sitting in the driveway. This is a very serious safety issue and windows do not just fall out. I am requesting that this modification be correct and complete and reimbursed by the above dealer which did not do a complete repair the first time. This vehicle has never been in any accident. Currently I have had a recall for a recall on the fuel tank modification and that has never been done. I have had that for months and months and this is still pending.

Window motor/lift has broken on 3 windows over the past 2 years: driver, passenger and the most recent (yesterday) is the rear driver. Two different repair places have advised this is a common problem with Jeep Liberty, and the part was a design flaw. The last one replaced was just under $400. The quote I received to fix the driver rear was $494. More important is the fact that replacing the defective part isn't a fix, simply a delay until it happens again as the replacement parts are all defective as well. Asking that Chrysler find a true solution and if not replace/recall the part, at least offer a substantial reimbursement in a timely fashion. Thank you.

The windows in my Jeep are falling down. In 2011, each window fell down. I would park my Jeep and the next morning the window was down. I took it to the dealer and they repaired the first window. Then the next window fell down and again they repaired that one. They made me wait for the next to windows to fall down one at a time and repaired them. Now my windows are falling down again. On 9/6/2015 my window fell down during the night. I just had it repaired on 9/10/2015. I notified daimler Chrysler corporation. They responded, that unfortunately it was my problem and there was nothing they could do. It will cost me 174. 43 for each window regulator lift plate to be fixed. I must have my windows fixed. I can not park my Jeep somewhere and have the windows fall down. This is a safety issue, I feel it needs to be addressed.

Since I have purchased the car used from a dealership, there have been two recurrent problems with it. I have taken it to multiple dealerships and independent mechanics, and none can fix these two issues: 1. ) when filling the gas tank at the gas station, the gas doesn't "shut off" when the tank is filled. The gas spills out over the side of the car almost every time I fill the tank - it does not matter the gas station. I was told to deal with it. 2. ) my driver side front window does not work - it never has. I can roll it down, but when I try to have it close it comes out of track and gets stuck. I have even had it in under warranty to dealerships twice or three times (in addition to two independent mechanics' reviews) in which I was even reimbursed for a fix - that never worked. I have been told by all of these mechanics that there is nothing that can be done. Please note I am estimating when this started, as I cannot seem to remember the date of purchase - it is around the year 2009. I did buy the car used, and it is a 2007. I bought it with approximately 40,000 miles. If needed I can find paperwork for the exact date of purchase.

I purchased vehicle Aug 2008 with 7500 miles on it. From that time to current date, fuel spills out when filling the gas tank full. Shortly after purchase, the first of 3 occurrences of the rear windows falling happened. The dealership repaired the first one, the second one I had to pay $100 deductible to have my extended warranty cover the cost to the same dealership. Now the first one is broke again, costing me another $100 deductible. In addition, in the past week I have spent over $600 to replace the ignition switch (vehicle would only start using my remote start) and problems with the check engine light on. I had the spark plugs and coils changed, injectors cleaned, compression checked, intake and carbon cleaner run through engine, and complete oil change. This doesn't include the $600 I spent today for new tires also spent $140 for a new battery last year. The window seal strips on both front windows continue to fall off. . It's not over yet - vehicle is in the shop now for the engine light. Who knows how much it will cost me. Chrysler needs to be accountable for their negligence in putting vehicles like this on the market. I hope a serious injury or fatality doesn't have to happen to get their attention. I haven't even addressed the safety recall notice I recently received. Vehicle currently has 58,000 miles on it.
