The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that the front driver side window failed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the window was repaired. The contact mentioned that all the windows were replaced on the vehicle on nine separate occasions. Also, the contact stated that a rubber plug also failed which allowed water inside the cabin of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the rubber plug was replaced. The contact stated that the rear driver side window failed again. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 63,000.
In 2010 I purchased a used 2007 Jeep Liberty from a dealership. Within the first month of the purchase the mechanism inside the front driver's side door broke causing the window to drop into the door rendering it unusable. I took the vehicle back to the dealership and they repaired the mechanism for free. In 2012 the same mechanism in the same door broke again. This time I was told that this is a common occurrence but was forced to pay for the repair myself as Jeep has not yet recalled the mechanism. Yesterday, December 21, 2013 the mechanism broke again this time in the front passenger side door. I have called the dealership again but have not yet scheduled a time to fix the unit. I do not feel as if I should have to pay for this repair as it is an on-going issue and obviously a defective product.
The contact owns 2007 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that the front passenger side regulator failed and the window could not be closed or opened. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure who advised that there were no recalls for the vehicle and offered no other assistance. The failure mileage was 84,000.
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Liberty. While driving approximately 35 mph, the contact noticed that the rear driver side window was falling slowly into the door panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostics where the technicians advised that the window regulator would have to be replaced. The failure also occurred on the rear passenger window. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 55,000.
I purchased this vehicle on December 1 2011 and about a month or a little more later (in January) the front passenger window started messing up (when you rolled it up it started going up crooked and you have to take your hand a straightened several times while rolling it up all the way. Also, the switches that are in the middle area between the seats, the one for the back driver's side passenger side, quit working all together. Toward the end of February or the beginning of March we were traveling down the road ( grandson was in the back luckily on the opposite side in his car seat) and the driver's side back passenger window started malfunctioning (when you went to roll it up the motor that rolls it up started making noise) and the window dropped and somehow jammed the door completely shut and we cannot open it. Today while we were out we noticed the driver's side window is starting to act up. That's three out of 4 messing up or messed up and one has caused us not to be able to open the door at all. We cannot afford to have all this fixed on our own and it is not that old of a vehicle and the mileage is not really that high and it is still in good shape otherwise and from what I have read from some of the other complaints filed on here for the 2007 Jeep Liberty this seems to be a repeating issue.
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that the front driver side window detached and fell down into the door panel while driving 25 mph. The contact also stated that the rear driver side window was beginning to fall down into the door panel. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and the contact was informed that a regulator cable broke. The contact was also informed that a new regulator assembly needed to be installed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but offered no assistance. The failure and the current mileages were 45,000.
3 of 4 power window in car have dropped inside the door. 2007 Jeep Liberty.
Window has dropped 4 inches will not go up have to physically push up with hands and the window is taped to hold in place. In my state, a vehicle will not pass state inspection if the windows do not work especially the drivers side which is where my problem is. Considered a "safety" issue.
Both rear power windows have failed within the last 2 days. Both windows have fallen, will no longer roll up, and are currently being held up with the help of a wooden shim.
Jeep Liberty 2007 driver side window suddenly fell down and would no longer work leaving car wide open. Four days later the passenger front side window also just fell into door, no way to get windows up. One dealer says possible recall coming, another said they never heard of problem before. Being fixed under extended warranty but really is a safety issue common on Liberty's. Should be Jeep recall to repair all windows before it happens again.
The window on my 07 Jeep Liberty started making noises when it was rolling down and up, however it only did that once and it stopped going down or up altogether. The window falls down on its own while driving, shutting the door, or even just sitting there. It falls down about an inch at first and gradually goes down about another inch. I continuously have to pull the window up myself, just to keep it up for the short amount of time. The dealership stated it was a regulator, but I had to get a whole new "upgrade" for my year of the car. I believe this is absolutely ridiculous that I have to pay for all of these parts, when it is happening to everyone. I have seen so many comments and complaints. I personally can not afford to pay for it and do not want to experience this in the future either.
Defective regulators on 2007 Jeep Liberty. Dealer wants $600 to fix a known defect.
2007 Jeep Liberty rear window fell down into door spontaneously as we are driving down the road with children in the rear seats. Defective window mechanism.
3rd incident in 6mo, window falls off track into door and has to be replaced, cost over $500 to fix, not covered by Jeep?.
Window carrier on rear passenger window Jeep Liberty failed while in a car wash. This resulted in window falling in its track with the consequent impact of baby in car seat exposed to soap, liquid, and associated perils of brushes and poisons. This is second identical failure of power window regulator on my vehicle and is very very common as reported in many internet forums. Vehicle is 2007 Jeep Liberty with only 8500 miles on it and the rear windows are very infrequently used or opened - maybe 20 times in the entire life of the vehicle which I have had since new!! clearly the issue is that the screw drive worm in the power window regulator is made of nylon and not steel. I have now temporarily fixed one side window with a design of my own incorporating a steel spring winding and want Chrysler to supply me with four new regulators so that I can modify all windows to an acceptable safe standard.
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that the windows failed to roll up and roll down as designed. The contact had the front driver's side window replaced at youngblood auto group (3410 s campbell Ave, springfield, mo 65807, (417) 882-3838) however, the failure persisted. The front and rear passenger's side windows also experienced the same failure. The contact used an object to keep windows in the upright position. The front driver's side window was deactivated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact was informed that the VIN was not under recall. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000.
Two previous rear window failures and a third Thursday Feb. 04 , 2010 . I have not contacted the dealer for this latest failure , I am out of warranty and this is a expensive fix . Park my vechicle in front of my home all windows up , my wife comes home and informs me my right rear window is all the down . Window would not right it self when engaged the engine and the window up control .
We have a 2007 Jeep Liberty and this is the 3rd time in 2 years that we will have to have a window regulator replaced. My wife and I came back to the car and found the window down about 3" when we tried to roll it back up nothing happened. We attempted to take it in around the end of October because it was making a grinding noise, but the dealership said they did not have time to fix it that day. Now our warranty is expired and we will have to pay for this repair. I feel Jeep needs to step up to the plate and recall these regulators.
2007 Jeep Liberty driver's window binds and won't close. Dealer said window needs a new regulator and he had to replace a few a month on this model car.
My drivers side window began to stick and move up and down very slowly all of a sudden one day. I drove my Jeep to the store, at which time my window was correctly in place. When I came out approximately 15 minutes later my window had sunk all the way into the door. I was told by my mechanic that the error was with the window regulator. This is an extremely common problem with Jeep Liberty owners and it is not only very expensive to fix, but it is a big safety hazard when windows do not work properly. Especially when it is December and very cold.
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Liberty. The contact returned to her parked vehicle and noticed the drivers side window was inside the door panel. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and the contact was informed that the motor for the window needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The failure had since recurred on two occasions, once on each rear window. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000.
My drivers side front window fell into door and I was told by dealership it would cost me $375 for the regulator and $250 in labor. The dealership has not even seen the window but knew what it was because of how often they see this in Jeep Liberty. Why isn't this a recall? will I have to worry about the remainder of my windows as well?.
While driving the left rear window fell down into the door. I took it to a mechanic and I was told that the regulator wheel was broke. I have no idea how it got broken. I have not taken it back to the dealer because my warranty has expired and the cost would be high for the parts and labor.
Defect in the track of all four windows. Part has come off of three tracks on Jeep Liberty windows, causing all 3 windows to fall down. All now have to be taped up. This is a safety issue/hazard as anyone could easily break into car without breaking windows or picking locks. It also impairs vision on drivers door because of being taped to stay up.
On 3 separate occasions, in 2 separate Jeep Liberty vehicles (model years 2006 & 2007), both my boyfriend & I have had windows fall into the doors. Twice it happened during the normal course of using the power window feature to lower the window, but once it happened while traveling down the road. Mechanics have replaced the regulator on all 3 occasions, stating that this is a very common problem they've seen with these vehicles. My concern is that when traveling down the road and having the window suddenly drop, there's the potential for the driver to be surprised by the movement, as well as items flying into or out of the vehicle.
Power window failed suddenly in 2007 Jeep Liberty. The window cannot be closed and is a safety issue. At this time, the window has not been repaired.
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that the driver side brake light failed intermittently. The dealer made six attempts to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was taken to private mechanic who was also unable to duplicate the failure. In addition, the contact stated that the window regulators were faulty and she was unable to close the windows once they had been opened. The driver side window was replaced twice. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but no repairs were performed. The current mileage was 98,120 and the approximate failure mileage was 45,000.
2007 Jeep Liberty. To date we have replaced all 4-window regulators due to becoming inoperative or sticking.
Rear passenger side window suddenly dropped off the track while driving. An infant was in a car seat on that side of the vehicle and this could have caused debris to enter vehicle. This is the fourth incident of a power window suddenly falling for this vehicle. Dealer states that window regulators are poorly designed. A replacement design is not available.
Drivers side and passenger side electric windows would stall and drag while being put up. Jeep replaced parts and fixed the issue with no charge. My Jeep is not quite 2 years old and has 32,000 miles. The drivers side window has been used more (as you can imagine) and it has been getting progressively worse for 6 months or so. I also had to have a transmission regulator put in when the car was new. It was shifting rough. . . .
Vehicle has 25000 miles and has had four power window regulators break, two of which were the same window. Vehicle transmission also shifts very hard between 1700 and 2100 rpm. Regulators were replaced on warranty, but I fear after warranty expires this will be very expensive. Have had no luck getting transmission fixed, everytime I take it in for repairs, I'm told they can't find anything wrong.
I have had my windows fall and not go back up 5 different times since I have owned my 2007 Jeep Liberty,Nov 2007. Every time I take it in and get it fixed the dealer says they hope this time will be the last. One time when the left rear window fell the door would not open because of the pressure from the broken window motor. This is very dangerous since the window will not stay up. This is a safety issue. I also have several stains on my stain resistant seats from water, rain and bottled water which is not dirty.
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Liberty. While driving approximately 30 mph, the front driver side window fell down into the door panel. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the window regulator was repaired. The failure occurred five additional times on different windows and replaced. The failure mileage was approximately 1,500 and the current mileage was approximately 32,000. Updated 01/11/lj.
Left side power windows fall to full open position. This poses a safety hazard driving with window full open at highway speeds. Won't return to closed with power window switch. This has occurred four times with either drivers window or passenger windows. Requires replacement of power window regulator at dealer.
The front driver window goes up crooked and has to be let down and up several times to make it go up correctly. The power windows on my Jeep Liberty made a pop when going up and the window failed to shut (back passenger); I had to manually lodge it up. A few hours later the right passenger side window did the same thing; however, it also made the door un-operable locking my child in which required him to go out the other door. If there had been a wreck my child could have been trapped inside. I took it to the dealer and they said they fixed the problem stating the regulators and motors needed replacing. I asked them what caused the door to lock and they said the cable pulley which controls the windows wrapped around the locking mechanism and froze the door. Well a few months have passed and the windows are once again having the same problems. I was told it would cost several hundred dollars to fix these items though they had previously worked on them. I have relocated from GA to va and would not have the same dealer. When these windows fall while driving it startles you to the point of panic because the rear windows makes a funny sound when down (the way the air current hits the car); which can be quite distracting. I hope you will deal with this problem so it doesn't cause a serious problem with those not expecting it. Another problem when driving if you hit the gas it sounds like the back end slips and will not go or will just jerk and slip on the roadway.
