All of my power windows have fallen into the door at one point or another over the past year and a half. Jeep has fixed this issue each time, but they fix the issue with the same parts that are defective so it is inevitable that it will happen again. This is clearly faulty craftsmanship and needs to be recalled by the manufacturer.

Windows keep falling, had to drive home and use alternate vehicle because the car was exposed with the window down.

After minimal use of the rear windows on my 2007 Jeep Liberty I have had 3 failures. I bought the Jeep in January 2007 and had no problems until August 2008. At that point I had the drivers rear window repaired due to the inadequate window mechanism. In July 2008 the passenger rear window went down for the same issue. I was told that the repairs were being completed with a higher quality system so that it would not be a problem in the future. In August 2008 the rear drivers side window broke again. At this point I have had to leave work 3 times to get repairs on my windows. The dealership this time told me that Jeep is not providing a better solution to fixing the windows. When I called and told them the issue with the window the dealer immediately asked if it was a Liberty. Apparently this is a very common problem that they see several time daily. My question is why has this not been a recall issue from Jeep if there is such a high volume in repairs. Although missing work every few months to take my car to the dealership is not a huge inconvenience I am worried about the same repairs after the car is out of warranty.

39 Visibility problem

Failure Date: 07/08/2008

Window regulator, the power window regulator broke while I was driving, and the window almost broke. No one was touching the window button. I brought my Jeep Liberty to the dealer to have the problem fixed. The vehicle was under warranty still but as it turns out the original regulator is no longer available and the new regulator wont fit on my existing window. So the dealer said the warranty would cover the cost of the regulator but I had to pay for the new window and labor, which cost me about 200. Dollarsthe whole bill was around 454 dollars. I have heard of several people that own Jeep Liberty's and they have also had window regulator problems. I think this should be a dealer recall item considering now you cant even get the original regulator and in order to fix it you have to buy a window. I feel like I have been scammed.

2007 Jeep Liberty 4x4, 3 windows have broken with the other sounding like it will go any time. When the first was fixed the child safety lock was broken and can't be disabled. I asked the service manager to check all windows after the first one broke but was told they can only do anything if it is actually broken.

I own a 2007 Jeep Liberty. In Feb 2008 my left rear window collapsed into the panel. As it was under warranty it was repaired, or I thought it was. In Aug 2009 my right rear window collapsed into the panel, once again it was under warranty and was repaired. In oct 2009 my left rear window collapsed again. Now this is an ongoing problem with Liberty's and because it is out of warranty now I was told I have to pay for the repairs. It is documented on several consumer advocates reports about this problems. I feel this is a safety issue as if there were children in these vehicles I am afraid of possible injuries. I do not feel it is fair that we the public should have to pay for Jeep's recurring problems. I feel a total recall and proper replacement of the regulators and window itself as prescribed by the Chrysler engineers.

My 2007 Liberty has slow window regulators. They go up and down slowly when in use. It can take 8-10 seconds for them to open or close. I had the passenger side replaced at the dealer under warranty. They said it is typical for them to slow down and even break completely but, they are waiting for a new design to be produced. But now, the passenger side is slow again and the drivers side has started doing it to. When it is cold outside they barely move at all. Now after further readings, I guess they will just eventually fall into the doors also like everyone else's. Come on Chrysler!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH yah, my carpets wore out fast to. Dealer said it is wear and tear. My Dodge, chevy and Toyota never did that.

43 Visibility problem

Failure Date: 11/15/2007

After only a few hundred miles on my new 2007 Liberty, the passenger front window failed, due to a faulty regulator, in November 2007. The dealer repaired it under warranty but said it was a common problem with this vehicle. After minimal use, the rear driver window failed for the same reason about 8 months later. I could manually push it up but it would fall after a few minutes of driving. The window may have been up and down a dozen times in total before failing. This is a real safety concern, and it is disgusting that such a broadly acknowledged defect is not being handled responsibly by Chrysler.

I purchased a Jeep Liberty in 2007, within a few months of owning the vehicle I had to go to the dealership to get the windows fixed because they would fall down the door and off the track. This has now occurred every 3 months but all different windows in the vehicle. I have asked before why they keep needing to be replaced and I was told by the dealership that the motor for the windows is a cheap plastic part that doesn't hold up well. It has come to the point where I now have to keep pieces od wood in my glove compartment so if the window falls down I can stick the wood in the window and hold the window up.
