The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the local dealer orlando Dodge located at 4101 w colonial dr, orlando, FL 32808 regarding NHTSA recall campaign number 13v252000(structure). The contact was informed that the remedy to install a trail hitch to rear of the vehicle could not be completed due to rusting of the subframe. The cause of the failure was not determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 141,000. Jft.

Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that the body of their vehicle made abnormal wining noises. Whenever the vehicle went over bump in the road the vehicle would make the noise. The lower frame was rusted and the control arm as well. The vehicle was not towed. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic and the mechanic stated that the vehicle was on recall and they should go to the dealer. The contact did not call the dealer, they called the manufacturer and they said that nothing could be done because the vehicle was out of warranty. The failure. Mileage 97,000. Jw.

The contact owns a 2002 Jeep Liberty. When the vehicle was taken to have the lower ball joints replaced, the technician stated that the upper control arm needed to be replaced. In addition, the contact was informed that the frame was rusted. The vehicle was not repaired. Today the Jeep dealer said the frame rail was not good enough to install the hitch as called for in the recall. I called the Chrysler complaint line and was told there is nothing Chrysler can do. So now I must drive an unsafe vehicle, how can I sell it, or even trade it in. What am I supposed to do now? I read that vehicles less than 10 years old could be purchased back. These Jeeps were recalled for rear suspension componets rusting up so now that the frames is rusting I have to drive a death trap. I am wondering how many times Chrysler is using these excuses in order to not do anything. One could even think this recall was crafted in such a way that Chrysler could get off using these excuses what are the people in my situation supposed to do????.

The dealer refused to supply the oem trailer hitch unless the contact replaced the framing. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.
