Tl-the contact owns a 2002 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that while his daughter was driving at 45 mph, the speedometer failed to read the vehicle speed. The check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. In addition the contact stated that the abs sensor wires are broken rubbing against the emergency brake cable. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 142,000. Aw.

Speed sensor connector wires break at differential from friction from the emergency brake cable resuting in no speedomter or odomter readings.
The contact stated while driving the vehicle suddenly lurched forward at a high speed. He called a towing service that inspected the vehicle and discovered the throttle was stuck. The towing service was able to free the throttle cable, and towed the vehicle to the dealer. The dealer was unable to duplicate the problem. Therefore, no repairs were done.

When the vehicle was put in drive the vehicle accelerated without warning which caused minor damage to the vehicle. Dealer found accelerator pedal was loose and without pressure. Dealer refasten loose throttle cable.
