Car Stall problems of the 2016 Jeep Patriot

My Jeep is stalling while I am drivin, the only light on my dash is the tracting control light when this happens and it happens random mostly on the freeway which pose a risk of a getting into a accident. I replace the thottle body on it new spark plugs and wires and it keeps stalling.

I was driving down the highway at 65 mph and my car jerked then stalled out. I almost lost control. I had to coast across 3 lanes of traffic and it stopped on the feeder road.

The vehicle stalled while driving. Lost steering capabilities and had a hard time pulling over. Had to turn key completely off and wait a couple minutes and it turned back on. I was on a busy city street.

Vehicle stalled with no warning signs while I was driving and went into limp mode, took it to a Jeep dealer to check it out. They say the Jeep needs a whole new transmission. Will not drive at all but has power. Only has 112,000. Codes: p0777 - pressure control solenoid b - stuck on, p0741 - torque converter clutch solenoid - stuck off, p0730 incorrect great ratio.

Vehicle is stalling without warning at low or high speeds, with loss of brake assist and steering assist. Multiple visits to dealer have not solved the problem as dealer claims he can not duplicate. In several of the stalling incidents, a critically hazardous condition was created. Stall has occurred both in straight line travel and in turns at intersections.

When driving the engine seems to sputter, stall, jerk, rev the rpm at random when driving. It happens on the highway going 70 or in a neighborhood going 25 while driving or starting to go from a stop. It will jerk really hard like it is going to stall out but no lights come on the dash to indicate something is wrong and I have taken it into the dealership many times and they tell me it is normal, I've never had any vehicle behave this way except when I was 15 learning how to drive a manual transmission and that wasn't the fault of the vehicle. It also will while in park randomly rev the rpms when nothing is being used in the vehicle, if I then put it in drive and back to park it usually settles down but not always, sometimes I have to shut it off and back on. The jerking and sputtering while driving has gotten a lot worse in the last few months, over the past few years it would randomly do it but it happens more and more now every time I drive and I am conscerned that one day it will stall out and cause a major accident. I have inquired many times about this to no avail from 3 different dealerships.

Driving down the road my Jeep will just stall and put me in a dangerous situation. No warnings with any dash lights.

The vehicle stalled sitting still. When I cranked the Jeep it would not turn over. As I turned the ignition key it just kept on cranking with out me holding the key.

Same issue as recall s89/16v907000. Stalls randomly and power not delivered to engine properly. Major safety issue for our family.

The car stalls while driving it down the road at more then 20mph and it's very dangerous because it does it with no light or any indication that something is wrong. I believe it's completely electrical but I'm taking it in to the mechanics tomorrow. I was driving down a highway when it stalled on me thankfully I was on the slow lane and was able to pull to the side but not before someone almost rear ending me.

Vehicle loses power and/or stalls while driving, even at high speeds. Vehicle stalled several times when stopped. I had to let car sit for a few minutes before it would restart. Lost acceleration at low speeds, especially after turning a corner and beginning to accelerate. You press on the gas and nothing happens. This also happened several times on the highway going 60mph. Luckily it kicked back in. There is a recall on the same year Patriot s89 for the crankshaft sensor, which was the exact problem on my Patriot. I informed the dealer of this recall when I took the car in for service. He said it wasn't applicable to my vehicle and wouldn't keep the paperwork I gave him for the recall. The dealer, however, told me it was the abs system and charged me to replace it and then ended up replacing the crankshaft sensor after the problem still happened on the test drive after replacing abs. The Patriot stalled on the highway. If the dealer would have listened to me and done the test drive first, they would have discovered the issue right away. This is a huge safety issue. Luckily I didn't get hit on the highway.

My daughter has a 2016 Jeep Patriot is just stalling out exactly the way the recall states except because hers was built in November they are saying its not on the recall. . . She will be driving and it just stalls and has happened over and over.

Vehicle constantly stalls while driving. Even happens when I'm driving on interste and speeds of 70 mph. Vehicle eventually starts back up but this is a huge safety issue. Had the codes ran and came back with an issue with the crankshaft positioning sensor.

Engine idles rough. Check engine, traction and throttle control waning light came on. Car sputtered and would not go over 30mph. Would almost stall when accelerating from a stop. Took to nearest dealership and was told the throttle body needed to be replaced. Picked up the car to take to my mechanic but the lights never came back on. Have driven roughly 100 miles since. Car still runs rough and has for about a year.

Vehicle stalls while driving unexpectantly, while driving and leaves no recourse or corrections for the driver to be made. Power to all of the vehicle systems stayed on whilst all the controls of the vehicle were removed from the driver. Eventually restarted. But refuses to start after being stationary again. Was driving down a city street when my car just stalled out on a straightaway. Finally restarting and making it home, and now not starting again.

My 2016 Jeep Patriot was purchased on January 29, 2016. This vehicle has been nothing more then a death trap for me and a cash cow for the dealership. I have had major life or death problems almost with this vehicle. This vehicle began stalling out and shutting off while driving down busy interstate or other roadways in 2017. My vehicle is currently at the dealership due to stalling out and shutting off in the middle of a busy highway on June 29, 2019 after I left my job. I have filed a complaint with the consumer protection division and I expressed the dangers and the government hasn't stopped in to intervene as of today. I notified Chrysler manufacturer of the problem in 2017, when my vehicle only had 50,000 miles. Once again there wasn't anything done concerning this situation. I notified the NHTSA and this organization hasn't done anything but post my complaint online. This is my second complaint with NHTSA. There has been several recalls on this matter but Chrysler claimed that my vintage number wasn't part of the recall. Although my 2016 Jeep Patriot was doing the exact same thing as the other 2016 Jeep Patriot, that was stalling out and shutting off in the middle of the highway. This death trap of a vehicle should have been recalled when I first initially filed this complaint. Well I guess I'll just watch and see how many people have to lose their lives behind these garbage Jeep Patriots before they recall these death traps. I will definitely look into filing a lawsuit against Chrysler and name all of the agencies that was made aware of this deadly problem. And they done absolutely nothing concerning this matter. I contacted the manufacturer once again this morning. And I have been assigned another case manager and so I'll wait on this phone call after 8:00a. M. Today. I can provide all documentations of the complaints filed.

It started about two years ago while driving down the road it started jerking like it was between gears . Took to dealership several times just to be told they couldn't find nothing. I told them something was wrong and its so bad when it happens vehicle stalls and almost dies. I have called Jeep and they do nothing but blame it on a recall that has been done already. It has gotten so bad I bought my wife another vehicle and I'm driving it do to my safety concerns.

I was not informed of this recall and had no knowledge why my car would stall. No notice was sent o my house. I want another vehicle, it can be used same year and style but fixed!.
