1 Ignition Module problem of the 2010 Jeep Patriot

Failure Date: 03/30/2019

I was driving my car from work and the tire pressure light came on and was unsteady, the red light also came on but I did not stop. Upon arriving home there was beeping sounds but I had my key and lights off. I proceeded to the house and the following morning the car wont start, tried jump starting to no avail. Contacted Jeep dealership and the said it was wireless ignition module and a new key needed. I have also seen hundreds of other drivers complaining of the same issue. Two days ago the car could not engage gear and was left shaking and after shifting to a lower gear it gained control.

2 Ignition Module problem of the 2009 Jeep Patriot

Failure Date: 01/27/2017

The tpm and security light flash intermittently/ I have had the vehicle over to fiat Chrysler service for a number of repairs for the same problem. Parts replaced included: steering wheel communication transceiver, internal wiring and ground checked, main engine transmission module, ignition switch. Repairs have been covered by Chrysler max care warranty, dealership has been working with me regarding repairs and supplied a loaner car. The tpm and security lights will flash for a short time at idle, speeds 10 mph through 60 mph, dry, rain, snow conditions. When the Jeep has been for repairs Chrysler factory was contacted by the servicing dealer. Jeep owners manual says if the security light is on for 16 seconds the engine will shut down. Initial diagnostics indicated the ignition key was not identified, the engine should not have started. On going problem from January 2017, new ignition switch replaced 3/ 8/ 2017. I drove around with a dealer installed diagnostic device for two weeks. When the tpm and sl powered on pressed a button on the diagnostic module that would recorded codes 20 seconds before and after the diagnostic device was triggered . I hope no one gets injured due to the Jeep engine shutting off while driving the vehicle. Once again the servicing dealer has been doing the best they can. Chrysler needs to identify the problem, other similar problems have been reported on the internet.
