2 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2011 Jeep Patriot

Failure Date: 09/15/2020

Jeep stalls after refueling. Anytime you fully fill the tank this is an issue. Was very startling the first couple of times it happened. I now expect this to happen, but for other people it could be an extreme hazard. It happens with the vehicle stationary or in motion. Subsides after second or third restart. . . Or if you let it sit with the gas cap open for a minute or so, these seems to help.

3 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2007 Jeep Patriot

Failure Date: 03/06/2019

2007 Jeep Patriot limited 4x4 cvt. Every time the gas tank is filled up, the car stalls, bucks, and/or hesitates. After fill up, about a mile or less driving out of the gas station the car will buck and eventually completely stall losing power steering. This Jeep had 122,000 miles on it, but this issue has occurred for every fill up since around 95,000. This is extremely dangerous as the car has stalled in the middle of intersections or in the middle of a lane. This sounds like the same problem that is mentioned on hundreds if not thousands of online forums. I've had the pcv valve, charcol canister, gas cap and 5 or more evap/emission parts replaced with genuine mopar parts and none of these replacements fixed the problem. This happens at any different gas station, different brands and different locations as well. The Jeep stalling after fill up is extremely dangerous and puts me at risk of harm every time I left a gas station.

4 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2010 Jeep Patriot

Failure Date: 02/20/2019

Whenever I put a full tank of gas in my car, my car stalls out. One time, I just left the gas station and it stalled and then when I went to get food, it stalled out again. I've heard of other people that have Patriots, it happens to them. My car was in drive and it also happened when I was stopped with my foot on the brakes. One time it happened when my Patriot was in parked. It's very dangerous because if someone was turning, they won't be able to since the wheel locks so you can't turn it. There should be a recall on this because it could be the fuel tank or the gas cap from what I've heard and it's not just me having this issue.

5 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2010 Jeep Patriot

Failure Date: 08/11/2017

Adding fuel to vehicle tank results in fuel gushing out of fuel filler pipe. It appears the fuel tank cannot vent the air in the tank as new fuel is added and this forces newly added fuel back out of the filler pipe. This is a very dangerous and common problem regarding faulty rollover valves on the fuel tank on several Jeep models/years according to online forums .

7 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2007 Jeep Patriot

Failure Date: 06/01/2015

I bought my 2007 Jeep Patriot on 1/24/2015 I was so excited. I started having problems around 5 months with the gas tank. I bought a new gas cap and yes Jeep brand and still the same problem. I have been reading other owners issue and they are identical to mine. The car stalls and shut off in the middle of traffic, at a stop light or just whenever. I was reading some complaints and they were saying the charcoal canister is the problem. The complaint also said you can not replace the charcoal canister, because it was build into the fuel tank, so you have to replace the whole fuel tank. The cost for a new fuel tank is around $1,250. 00 ☹️ very sad about the cost. My boyfriend gave me his car to drive because he said it's to danger for me to be driving my car, but he drives it now and I'm worried he might get hurt. I do think this should be a recall item before someone gets badly hurt or die.

8 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2009 Jeep Patriot

Failure Date: 07/20/2014

It has been stalling and chugging, doesn't act like it's getting gas. Doesn't matter f it's on a full tank of gas or lower. Replaced gas cap, didn't seem to help. Only seems to do this when n drive and getting up to the speed limit, whether on highway or in town. It s getting worse. Putting sea foam n doesn't seem to help or changing gas from 87 to 89. I purchase gas at several different locations, doesn't make a difference.

9 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2013 Jeep Patriot

Failure Date: 06/30/2013

The car had 1/4 tank of gas and the car started acting like it was running out of gas consistently near stalling when driving. It felt like the car had a clogged fuel filter. I've also had the car fully stall in the middle of the street while driving, almost causing the car behind me to rear-end my car at least one time. When I took this car to a dealership in los angeles in July, I was told the fuel sending unit was the problem and that they would order the part. Because the part did not arrive when scheduled and the date was pushed back, I called Jeep corporate and they sent my concern to their escalation department. They are anticipating the part will be available in mid-October; however, this is a safety concern and Jeep has been dragging this out for 3 months now. This is the second issue I've had with this car and the first issue is now reoccuring. At the very least, I expected Jeep to provide me with a rental car because this is a safety issue. This car was purchased in oregon.
