Cooling Fan problems of the 2017 Jeep Renegade

Ten problems related to cooling fan have been reported for the 2017 Jeep Renegade. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Cooling Fan problem

The contact owns a 2017 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated while driving 30 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated, and the engine cooling fan seized. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and diagnosed as engine cooling failure and the engine cooling fan was replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 38,952.

Cooling fan has been replaced twice in the last year and now on 3rd time going out.

My check engine light came on and my engine started overheating. The radiator cooling fan just stopped working for no reason. It also blew out the relay amd fuse. I was told that this is out of warranty and a new fan assembly needs to be installed. The Jeep is only two years old and has 39,232 miles on it. After researching this is I find out that at least 66 other 2017 Jeep remegade owners have had their radiator fans go out at 40,000 miles. This isn't an isolated issue and the part has to be recalled. Chrystler and Jeep are unhelpful and unwilling to admit to the problem.

4 Cooling Fan problem

Cooling fan failure while driving under normal conditions, problem reported and diagnosed by dealer. They indicated would be ok to drive until next scheduled service interval. Car overheated was returned to dealer for repair and concluded not a warranty issue which is unfair due to the amount of these failures reported on the internet. Attached invoice of $ 817. 63 in repairs we have unfairly had to pay.

5 Cooling Fan problem

Engine cooling fan was replaced at 50 thousand miles, codes show that that is malfunctioning the transmission threw codes dead battery. It locks up and doesn't want to start even after replacing the battery. Their was two different sensors that threw a code. I've gotten a message to service the airbags. On everything I have told you the car was sitting still. Except on the transmission, when it goes from 3rd gear to passing gear it shifts really hard. And it feels like it's going to stall out. I maintain regular oil changes . Average of 1 per month. It's been well taken care of. At 50 thousand miles it started having a lot of little things go wrong. I feel like I bought a lemon and no one is willing to admit it.

6 Cooling Fan problem

Cooling fan failure. Cooling fan is rattling and inconsistent. Leads to overheating. Limited fca "customer satisfaction recall" (v54) does not cover all affected vehicles.

7 Cooling Fan problem

Failure Date: 08/30/2019

Cooling fan failure. Fuse blew on fan and led to rapid spike in coolant temperature. Led to p0481 check engine light code. Replaced blown fan fuse but fan cycles on and off and seems to be wobbling or have bearing problems. Based on searches, this is a common problem on the Jeep Renegade but Chrysler has not issued a recall for 2017 years.

Cooling fan went out some electrical power outlets weren't working oil change signal light won't reset when making turns car skids and the 4x4 control kicks in vehicle is shaking, engine problem.

9 Cooling Fan problem

Tl-the contact owns a 2017 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated while driving at an unknown speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact also stated that the vehicle was turned off as it made a rattling noise with the tempreture gauge illuminating. The vehicle was taken to kings Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram 513 683 3000 4486 kings water dr, cincinnati, OH 45249 where the malfunction was diagnosed as the cooling fan, the contact was informed by the technician to schedule an appointment. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 47,300. Jw.

10 Cooling Fan problem

Failure Date: 09/19/2017

Check engine light came on at 10,000 miles. Took to the dealership and cooling fan went out. They estimate 6 weeks or more before they can replace the part.
