While driving car just shuts off. Must stop and put it in park to restart it.
The car seems to want to stall when driving along. Had to press on the gas and go above the speed limit so as not to stall. If I put it in gear and press on the gas I have to keep pumping the gas peddle for the engine to get the gas. Also if oil is low, the car just shuts off has happened to me 3 times, the sensor (dummy light) does not warn you that your oil is low. I do not drive my car far as I am afraid it will stall in the middle of the highway as I go to work.
After refueling the engine stalled when I drove onto the highway. After restarting, the engine shut down. A light came in "vehicle must be in park or start". I put on 4 way flashers. After several stalls, my Jeep restarted. This is the second time this has happened.
While driving down the road Jeep flashes all lights on dashboard and just shuts down. Doesn't matter where you are or how fast you are going, just powers down and you have to figure out how to roll off the road out of traffic. Had it to the dealership several times for the same thing, keep getting told this is "normal" and I should change my synthetic oil at 4,000 miles and this shouldn't happen.
As I was driving my 2017 Jeep Renegade, after I turned, my car wouldn't accelerate and a message came up to put my car in gear (it was in drive). Luckily I was able to coast and pull over. My car keep telling me to put my car in gear, so I put the car in park and pressed the ignition button but nothing happened. Then a message came up to start my car with the key fob. I touched the key fob to the ignition button and it started again. I was able to drive it the rest of the day, but it wasn't shifting properly. As it shifted, it would jerk into gear. That was on Saturday, October 19th. Today, October 23rd, after I turned my car shut off again. The same thing happened my car keep telling me to put my car in gear, so I put the car in park and pressed the ignition button but nothing happened. Then a message came up to start my car with the key fob. I touched the key fob to the ignition button and tried to start it again but the engine wouldn't turn over. It took 5 tries to start my car again.
Will be driving and vehicle will shut off while driving. Once it shuts off you have to put it in park and restart the vehicle back up. This has happened numerous times and even in intersections and on the interstates. The vehicle has been in the dealership for the same issue 20 times.
2017 Jeep Renegade has an oil issue where it shuts off the engine with no warnings and when investigating the issue it was found that there was no oil in the engine and there was an oil change done less then 2 weeks prior to this issue it has happened 3 times now where there was no oil found in the car and there were no warnings about the oil level or pressure being low.
I have a 2017 Jeep Renegade. There is a massive recall on them due to the car shutting off due to fuel pump and oil sensor issues. I have had the vehicle shut off on me in intersections and on the highway and is very unsafe to drive. I contacted chrystler and they said that they are not fixing this recall until after the 1st quarter is over due to part and funding issues. They refuse to help me with this issue. I cannot drive this vehicle due to unsafe conditions.
Engine shuts off when turning. At approximately 23,000 miles October 2018, dash message briefly illuminated "check engine oil" only one time (then turn off) when in a sharp turn (left and right directions). This happened 3 different times. The 4th time, the engine complete shut off in the middle of the turn. I was leaving my work parking lot and decided to drive toward the dealership. The engine turned on without hesitation and no warning on dash. 1/10th mile from work, the engine turned off again in a turn, almost causing a rear-end collision. I pulled to the shoulder and called the purchasing dealership to explain and asked if I can drive to them. I explained the only issue was this and it was time to change oi. The technician said that changing the oil will resolve the problem. It did. It is now match 2019 and the vehicle has not shut off since October. I am not thrilled about this "so called" safety feature. Save the engine by shutting off. . . . But put passengers in danger. Not happy - especially since I am a single mom of 3.
Vehicle shuts off at higher speeds. This year, make and engine have been recalled for this problem. My specific vehicle, while having the same shut off problem for the past 2 years, is not part of the recall. It is a dangerous ongoing problem.
The vehicle shuts off completely while driving if engine oil sensor detects low oil in engine. This happens without warning no matter where you driving ie (highway or local roads).
