As I was driving the airbag light quickly turned on and off. I did not get it checked out but it is a known issue were the light will turn on due to electrical issues. And if this fails and others or myself are driving/riding in this vehicle and a crash occurs we will not have the protection of the airbags.

Lanesense warning / strength & blind spot alert/other --- settings during occurrences - lanesense warning - early, lanesense strength - high, blind spot alert - lights&chime --- when using double lane outer turn, warning goes off at every turn alert that driver next to me. Blind spot monitor detects car in parallel turn lane, interpreting it as a dangerous situation. System cannot distinguish danger verse normal turning. When hands on wheel, in exact spot shown on dashboard, alert will go off. When no hands are on wheel (done for testing) it does not have any alert. Will go off randomly whether hands are on wheel or not. When centered within the lane, lane assist will alert. When driving in/out of lane (done for testing) no alerts go off. When using turn signals, left/right, sometimes no alert goes off when someone next to me. Sometimes an alert will go off when no one is next to me. In addition, electronic issues with key fob & e-brake. E-brake able to get fixed; key fob on its third shop go with no correction yet. --- initial appointment, dealership could not detect issues. Car returned; blind spot alert was turned to lights only. Brought back dealership. Had appointment, at check-in stand, told to do road test. Dealership's resolution was to reduce the safety settings from highest to medium strength. Told did not have to sign anything, could just leave. Drive test now undocumented. --- reached out to mopar, was told they aren't the right department. Reached out to stellantis/Jeep customer service, created case number, told to go to another dealership, if they can't find problem, then I could reach back out to Jeep for a more advanced repair. --- any vehicle that offers various levels of safety features should be able to use any of the settings in order to maintain highest level of safety on the road for others and themselves. Having random alerts go on and off while on a safety setting meant for the highest protection is potentially dangerous for all.

I previously had this same issue August 2024 (associated complaint 11608428). My rear drivers side tail light is out completely-no brake light, reverse, turn signal, or nighttime tail light is working. I spent nearly $800 to replace part 68599920aa, as the entire motherboard was fried, as were the connectors from overheating. I’ve located several other complaints with similar issues: 11585014; 11142232; 11023686. This is clearly a defective issue with Jeep Renegades and a safety concern that should be a recall.
Radio screen completely back. Including no rear backup camera.

A faulty tail light connection to ground can cause a fire hazard, potentially affecting the circuit board. I noticed a burning plastic smell emanating from the back tail light one day, which I believe originated from this connection. If left unrepaired, this could potentially start a fire.

Driving down the road the Jeep shuts off. It’s done it 5 times now. It takes a bit to turn back on. Almost caused four accidents it shitting down instantly.
While driving the moving vehicle on 3 occasions my vehicle has stalled out with me driving it, however there is a recall online for the same year, make and model of my vehicle for the same exact problems I am experiencing and I am being told that there are no recalls for my VIN. This is a problem since (let me repeat myself) online a recall for same year, make and model experiencing the exact problems with vehicle stalling and shutting off while driving. This is a serious issue and I keep getting the run around from Jeep corporation not insuring the safety of their vehicles and the people that own them.
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled for several seconds and then restarted. The contact stated that prior to the vehicle stalling, while stopped at a traffic light, several unknown warning lights illuminated and then turned off. The failure was intermittent but had become a recurring failure and occurred whether driving in a straight line or turning left or right. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, and an alternator check was performed, and the contact was informed that the alternator was functional. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred, and the battery was replaced; however, the failure persisted. Recently, the check engine and battery warning lights were illuminated and remained illuminated. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 79,000.
Head unit for the radio has gone blank. Soft and battery reset did not restore function. Unable to use back up camera.
See attached document for complaint.
Uconnect screen shows shows ghost images, intermittent white and black vertical lines and fades to black after starting the vehicle.
I have had to have the battery replaced twice in under a year in my 2023. There are common complaints on social media.
Uconnect screen is out. Started glitching but now it is completely black yet the touch part of it is responsive?? now if only I could remember exactly where everything is located and in what order. . Haha. Not. Also I have no backup camera view, not being able to see what temp my ac/heat is at or which mode it is on. What time is it even? how do I turn on the passenger heated seat for my daughter in the mornings and evenings when the temperature outside is below zero? how do I know where my next turn is when I am driving to a destination with my children and this is the first time I have ever seen, much less been on this road? it sucks!! and my android auto is no longer an option. . . Music?? the safety I could put myself and others in by having to look at and use my phone to change songs, artists, podcasts, make a call or change a gps route. . . Not cool! also the "fog light" running light on my passenger side does not work at times despite having changed the bulb, wiring, even though the fog light works just fine? and I have often felt like my transmission was slipping when accelerating from stop signs or at other times and that is insane considering the vehicle had less that 50k miles at the time. I want to love my Jeep like I once did yet all this has me questioning whether I would even ever purchase another Jeep. I also feel like my front end is loose and there is a wobbling and have had the mechanic check several times. It doesn't sound safe or feel safe. Yet what is truly most important is that I want and need my current Jeep to last me but all these issues kinda scare me to be honest. I want my screen back!!! I want my light to work at all times! I need my transmission to be wonderful!! I don't even have 95k on my Jeep yet!!! I am praying that submitting this report will help out in some ways.
When I was driving and stopped at a red light, my Jeep automatically shut off. It had the steering wheel warning and air bag warning pop up. I had a message that told me to put my vehicle in park when I tried to start it back up. I placed it in park and started up the Jeep again. It came back on, but the warning lights remained on. Once I made it home, I safely turned my vehicle off and then restarted it. Once I restarted it, those warnings were no longer on.
I was driving my vehicle and all of the sudden it just turned off and said vehicle shift to p to select gear, and I kept pressing the gas and it wouldn’t move , I have nothing on my dash no lights or anything.
It began with vehicle warning lights, several, illuminating. They did not illuminate at exactly the same time (such as when a car stalls) they illuminated consecutively I. E airbag disabled, followed by, blind spot sensors unavailable, front collision, lane departure, power steering temporarily unavailable, park assist, lane departure. . . All unavailable. Finally, the check engine light. Driving 65 mph until the transmission decided to no longer shift properly, which resulted in driving 45 in an 70 mph zone. Turned off vehicle and restarted, it was fine for 50 miles and began the dashboard light show again, followed by almost stalling at a toll booth. It has been "repaired" 3 times in 3 months, by Chrysler Jeep . Including a new bcm. I believe this 2017 Renegade either was not recalled during the original recall in 2017 or 2018, was not repaired, or was repaired improperly. Everything else operates properly. My vehicle is in great shape. I have video documentation of these things happening. No photos though. I do have documentation from Chrysler Jeep, just not with me at the moment.

Tried to turn on car and Jeep ecu started misfiring. I got the part replaced twice and it still did not work. Just stalled and engine refused to turn over. Was told it also was having fuel system problems.
About a month ago, I started noticing that my radio was making strange beeping sounds. Of course I’ve got the display, and I immediately noticed that those beeps were being caused by, what looked like an invisible person touching my screen. At first, it just was a nuisance, but quickly escalated to a radio and display screen that is completely unusable. . It didn’t matter whether my phone was bluetoothed to it or not, it’s a complete mess and won’t stay anywhere for more than a second. Today it interferes with my rear facing camera, not allowing you to turn on sometimes it does not even come on. I’ve been reading that a lot of Jeep Renegade owners in this 2018 time period are having this problem and, in my opinion, this should be a recall item. Absolutely because to fix it. “go from $1500-$2500.
The uconnect / touch screen display is constantly glitching- I can’t see anything other than striped lines and colors and/or a pitch black screen. I cannot use the rearview camera because of this, which creates a safety concern when backing up/reversing due to limited visibility without the rear view camera function. This problem has occurred with many other owners of the same vehicle (see posts online). The vehicle hasn’t been inspected but others had theirs inspected and claimed they were quoted $1,500+ for the screen repair, and even after repair, the screen malfunctioned again in a few weeks. The first sign of the issue was when I saw a thin, vertical green line through my touch screen, but it didn’t affect the visibility or usability of the screen so I thought nothing of it.
The car will all of a sudden have light started flashing and then it will stop going.
When I speed up at times my cars engine will rev weird and when I go to back up the main screen is burned into the screen.
While driving my car, all of a sudden all my icons on my dashboard will light up. My car will die in the middle of driving it and once I put it in park it won't restart. Also when driving it seems like not enough gas is going through to get it to move. I can be driving my car for 15 to 20 minutes and all of a sudden it dies in the middle of the road. This is the 3rd time it has happened to me since owning it all withing the last year. . It is unsafe for me to have my car die in the middle of the road while traffic is all around me. Something is absolutely wrong with my car. Yet I put in my VIN for my particular car and it doesn't show a recall but on the 2017 Jeep Renegades there have been recalls for fuel pumps electrical and not enough fuel pressure.
The car keeps shutting off while driving. Had to replace battery twice in the last few months. Also had relays replaced. Problem keeps happening. Something is draining the battery. I read there were problems with this make and model where even when the vehicle is shut off, certain connections remain active and drains. Shutting down with no warning while driving is very unsafe.
Stereo head unit screen went black. It started "glitchy" with streaks but eventually went black. No use of the rear back up camera or any functions on the head unit. . . Climate control, radio, setting, etc. I have seen online that this is common and I do not think it is right for a consumer to spend well over a 1000 to replace it. This is not a "wear" part. Disapointed in the quality of components in my Renegade.
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated that while her daughter was driving at approximately 65 mph the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that the daughter reported that the stall was abrupt and that there were no warning lights. The contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic. The mechanic was unable to diagnose the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The contact had researched online and related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 18v524000 (electrical system), however her VIN was not part of the selection. The failure mileage was unknown.
The information screen, which displays the backup camera and everything else that the car does, from radio to climate control, glitches and then goes black. From what I’ve seen on the internet, this is a widespread problem and, since it deals with the backup camera, is directly safety related.
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated that many different electrical features controlled by the infotainment center were activated independently. The contact stated that the ac/heating system, defroster, bluetooth, and several other systems occasionally activated without driver intent. The dealer was informed of the failures; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 62,202.
This is the 2nd time I am repairing the left rear light that controls the signal, brake and parking light. The wires are burnt to the bulb. There is condensation in the light. Not accident related. I note that there is a potential recall but not officially.

Screen display does not work. Very pervasive for these vehicles. Does not allow for using the backup camera. . Safety issue. . . Also affects hands free phone requirements.
While driving, the service engine warning came on and was followed by the coolant temperature high warning roughly 5 minutes after. The somewhat cool air coming out turned hot, even with the settings set to max cool air. Turned the vehicle off and found the engine code p0481 fan 2 control circuit, I allowed the car to cool before checking fuses for the cooling fan. The f07 engine cooling fan had a 40 amp fuse that was blown (note: the owner manual states the 40 amp fuse is for the 1. 4 without a/c, the 50 amp red was required for a 1. 4 with a/c and all 2. 4 models). A new 50 amp maxi fuse was installed and the car a/c cooled down for approximately 15 minutes. Then the coolant temperature started to rise again and white/grey smoke came out from under the hood. Thankfully I was able to find a safe place to stop my car, but I was driving with smoke obscuring my vision which was a serious safety issue that would have caused an accident especially if I had made it on the highway. The cooling fan was shaking and very noisy even as the car was turned off. After cooling down, the fuse was checked again and verified okay. So the cooling fan was replaced. Upon replacement, the a/c and coolant temperature were normal. But the service engine light remained and the code p0481 refused to clear. Currently monitoring the coolant temperature and new fan.
The display screen for the back up camera, heating/cooling, radio, and all other settings has stopped functioning. The screen comes on, but with flashing static lines in the screen instead of the proper display. This makes it very hard to reverse at night, and downright dangerous. . . The screen can't be turned off, so when you put the engine in reverse, the screen automatically comes on and can't be turned off. But the bright flashing static display it shows make it hard to use mirrors to see to back up. Other factors make the screen not working inconvenient, but this point makes the malfunction an actual danger.
I purchased in 2015 (Jeep Renegade). The dealership promised a “lifetime warranty” for the duration of my ownership, but despite repeated service visits over the past 10 years for persistent electrical problems, they have refused to honor this warranty. It has come to my recent attention that the two major reasons Jeep has stopped making the Renegade was due to electrical and engine issues. Both issues with my car never told to me, and games are being played. Key points: I have complete documentation: purchase receipts, service records, text messages, and emails confirming the warranty and the repeated service attempts. The dealership now claims they have no record of my purchase. I was assured by a service representative that the issues were covered under warranty so I brought it there time and time again. The last time I brought it in the representative was working on it under warranty, but the representative was later terminated while still working to resolve the problem. These service manager, keri has played games to avoid repairs and has even tried to tell me that I didnt buy my car there when I have proof I did. She said my receipts mean nothing and aren't proof. Its been a non stop headache for almost 10 years when all they had to do was be honest from the beginning. This car has had these problems on and off since 2017 and caused the dealer to have to replace the engine due to this parasitic draw. Each time pretending to fix it and not doing so. These issues have caused significant inconvenience, expenses, and emotional stress over a decade. I would like to explore: enforcing the lifetime warranty and having the electrical issues properly fixed free of charge pursuing remedies under tennessee’s consumer protection laws for unfair or deceptive trade practices. Discussing compensation for damages resulting from the dealership’s repeated failures to repair the vehicle. I am fully prepared to provide all documentation, a detailed timeline of events.
Radio touch screen is now half black/out.
Vehicle started to overheat when sitting still and ac was reduced at a stop. Found the cooling fan to be unresponsive and not operating. Found csn v54 TSB and conducted determination of it's application to my vehicle. Vehicle had the bushing style plastic heat shield from the examples and using proper scan tool, found the fan unresponsive to run command. Called dealership to schedule repair and they were adamant that it was not covered, or must have been repaired already, but did not provide proof of such repair. The unit in the vehicle is the plastic heat shield bushing style unit, not the ball bearing replacement unit.

Backup camera/radio/uconnect screen is glitching to where I can no longer see the backup camera when in reverse, and can no longer see what is playing on the radio. This started happening less than 3 months ago, when the heat started ramping up. Backup camera is a safety mechanism, and while using the rear view mirrors is fine, the backup camera should work without fail.
