Four problems related to clutch pedal/linkage have been reported for the 2000 Jeep Wrangler. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Was noisy when purchased they changed the throw out bearing didn't solve problem.
Grinding / rattling noise coming from transmission area when clutch pedal not depressed and stops when depressed. Problem also worsens as vehicle warms up. This has occured and persisted since vehicle was first purchased. Took vehicle to dealer and was told that there was no problem. Transmission also becomes progressively harder to shift after vehicle is driven for a short time.
Transmission makes a noise, sounds like the clutch-release bearing (throw-out bearing) as the sound goes away when the clutch pedal is pressed. In addition there is a vibration noise when shifting through the gears. Dealer states this is normal for the Jeep manual transmission??.
Transmission rattles if in neutral, with clutch pedal not depressed. When in first gear, will often pop out of geat with a loud sound. Difficult to change gears from 5 to 4 after driving for more then 30 min in 5th gear. Please note that I'm in ontario, canada, postal code k1n 9m5, so state and zip infor in the form are not correct.
