We purchased the vehicle used with around 12,000 miles last year. Ever since we bought it, it will run over when pumping gas. It does not cut off so you just have to listen to stop it. I googled and saw there have been issues with other years. It would be great if the problem could be fixed.
When fueling the Jeep the gas overflows. Even though we are very careful it is impossible to gas up the car and not have gas all over your hands and the ground. The gas drips down the side of the car and is a serious safety concern. We have tried different pumps and different angles to no avail. It is not human error as we have other vehicles that we never have a problem at the same pumps with any other car.
Fuel dumps out of filler hose when close to filled up, has been happening since I first filled ,now almost 5 years have still seen no solution unless I have do myself.
When refueling the vehicle, the automatic shutoff does not engage from the vehicle itself properly, causing fuel to continue to flow and out and all over the side of the vehicle. It also sprays out and on the operator fueling the vehicle. There is a technical service bulletin from Jeep about the issue, but action has not been taken by the manufacturer. I request this be repaired under warranty. Material safety data sheets classify gasoline as a hazardous material, known to cause health defects when in contact with skin, and environmental impacts when improperly contained.
Every time I fill up the gas some spill outs. Fuel shut off does not work. Every time I fill up at every station.
Unless I stop fueling prior to a complete fill up, gas will spill out. I have mentioned this to a couple different Jeep service advisors at my local dealerships they are not aware of what is causing it. This can be extremely dangerous and needs to be addressed by Chrysler.
Spits fuel every time I fill up, no matter where or how slowly I fill it. 3-5 ounces of fuel spit back out every fill up, on first auto shut off occasionally fuel is expelled forcefully enough to splash on objects18-24 inches away.
Every fill up the fuel splashes back out of the fill tube, spilling about a cup of fuel down the side of the vehicle and onto the ground. This happens regardless of the fill rate. I have looked the fuel system over to the best of my ability, and can't come up with the cause.
The vehicle will spill gas out of the filler neck every time after the pump handle shuts off. It doesn't matter if I use the lowest setting on the gas pump or if I manually use as little pressure as possible. It overfills every single time and gas pours out of the fill spout running down the body of the vehicle on my hand on my clothes and on the ground.
Happens periodically, no forewarnings just happens, always when going slow or reversing like to park or back into parking spot. . . . . Unintended acceleration. . . . Scares the bejebers out of the person driving, since you never know when it's gonna happen. . . . . I bought the Jeep used (like maybe a year old) with 14,--- miles on it. . . Now have about 52,--- miles on it. . . . All street driving, no off road driving. . Has happened from the beginning when I bought it. . .
When fueling vehicle, fuel will splash out of the fill tube before filler nozzle shuts off. This happens every time I fuel and at different gas stations. I estimate my total fuel spilled over the past decade to be in the area of 300 gallons.
I purchased my Jeep in may of 2005. Since that time the engine light has come on and the O2 sensor replaced three times. The light is on again. I truly feel there has been a malfunction in these sensors, since I talk to other Jeep owners and they have the same issue. Can you fix this under a recall?.
Every time I fill up with fuel, it spills and splashes all over the place causing puddles of fuel all over the ground and running down the side of my vehicle.
