48 problems related to air bag light on have been reported for the 2007 Jeep Wrangler. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
On multiple occasions since 6/2011 the airbag light and audible bell goes off. Have discussed this problem with the local Chrysler service center and also had them try to diagnose via computer. They can not diagnose correctly. Light and bell are still activating. There doesn't seem to be any specific conditions that make this alarm go off.

2007 Jeep Wrangler unlimited rubicon. Clockspring is malfunctioing and airbag lights stays on.
2007 Wrangler rubicon unlimited with faulty clock spring. Airbag light came on along with an audible dinging alarm at 71,918 miles. Took vehicle to dealership and was told the clock spring needed replaced and wasn't covered under the 100,000 mile warranty I purchased. Have not had this replaced at this time.
The airbag light on my 2007 Jeep Wrangler constantly lights up and chimes about every 20-30 seconds. There wasn't an incident that caused this to start happening, it just started doing it one day. I believe the problem is a faulty clockspring in the steering column which, I also believe will prevent the driver airbag from deploying in the event of an accident. I have not done anything, as of yet, to get this repaired. I have been hoping there would be a recall to correct this problem seeing that many Jeep Wrangler owners are experiencing the same safety issue.
Broken clockspring/ airbag light comes on. Airbags likely to not work-(havent had the chance to find out yet)- not covered?- warranty expired 2007 Jeep Wrangler jk 2 door 50,000 miles.
While sitting in the driveway, the horn began beeping on its own for a few seconds at a time and then stop. I eventually disconnected the horn completely. A few days later, the airbag light came on a blinked intermittently. It still does it to this day. Jeep only has 50,000 miles on it. I took it to the dealership and was told it was a bad clock spring. I also heard of other Jeeps having the same problem.
2007 Jeep Wrangler unlimited. Clockspring and airbag module need replaced at 56k miles. Airbag light and chime stay on while driving. Numerous cases have been documented with same failure. Solution is to have $700 replacement done or circumvent airbag system. . . Which is not safe to do.
Incidents of engine stall; airbag non-deployment; random horn, headlight, taillight, door lock, instrument panel and windshield wiper activity; failure of fuel pump shutoff resulting in unintended acceleration; and fires. All the dash back lights come off and on randomly especially the heater controls. Air bag light is always on. Air bag light and beeper flash and beep all the time and no mechanic does not know what to do about it. Very flushterating to drive w airbag beeping . No resale value due to all the above things. Will you buy it? horn has now stopped working and lights behind the heater do not work either.
I have a 2007 Wrangler x with 37k on it, and for the last 2 years my passenger air bag light has illumunated and it has been into the dealership while still under warrenty and the dealership did not fix it or even mention that it existed, a safety issue, not only that but also the cruiz control and horn do not work either. Can you say Chrysler needs to step up to the plate and adjust accordingly with the faulty clockspring deal? this is rediculous and I can not afford 500 bucks to throw into faulty parts and labor to replace the faulty part. Where is Chrysler??? are you listening to your customers? no.
Electrical system failure - twice my Jeep Wrangler x 4x4 stalled and lost power while I was driving 65-70 mph on a major freeway in high traffic. Both cases are virtually identical. First occurrence was in Feb. 17, 2007 and the 2nd time was today, April 23rd. I had been driving for about 30-40 minutes before the power loss occurred. The car lost power, jerking like it had been down shifted incorrectly. All the lights on the dashboard turned on, the radio turned off and the gas bell rang. Within 3-5 seconds the car jerked sharply as the power came back on. I brought the car in to the dealership service center after the first incident and was told that they couldn't find the problem but they had "uploaded some new software". I asked if they had received any complaints of this type of electrical failure and was told no. I am bringing it back in again tomorrow morning. With no way to pull off the freeway, I was extremely lucky not to have been hit by the 18 wheeler that was right behind me during the first incident and the fast moving traffic behind me today. There were two other electrical incidents that happened during the last week in March. On March 28th, I started the car everything worked as normal but the radio wouldn't turn on and the clock wasn't on. After being on the road for an hour the radio and clocked came on by themselves. On March 29th, the passenger airbag light came on after I had been driving 10 minutes - there was nothing on the seat - it went off about 40 minutes later. I made an appointment that day to bring the car in on sat. March 31st, when I got there I was told that the tech's that handle the electrical work aren't in on saturdays. I will have them look at this tomorrow too.
