No parts, they said to order but I do not see anyway of completing this.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v352000 (air bags) and stated that the part needed was unavailable to perform the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect. The VIN was unavailable.
Takata recall . I was given a recall notice early in 2016 . The Jeep dealer in n miami said the parts were on back order and they will notify when they arrive. Nothing has happened in 1 year. I am most apprehensive to drive the vehicle on major roads . This is a life threatening problem and nothing is being done . Please advise.
Takata recall , 1 month ago the air bag ligth turn on in my cluster and I dont know how he turn of everityng looks fine just that ligth and the bell sonds every few minutes.
As I was pulling into parking lot the air bag went off and blew up in my face. Chrysler Jeep has yet to pay for it, so it sits at body shop waiting to get fixed, I don't feel I should pay for it.
The spring clock is broken.
Faulty air bag clockspring.
Clockspring recall. I own a 2007 Jeep Wrangler v6 automatic with 86000 miles. Around April 25th 2015 I noticed the airbag dash light would light up and ding every few minutes. After doing some research I found this to be a very common occurrence with this model Jeep. I took my Jeep to my local dealership last week for its regular maintenance and the service manager called stating the clockspring was in need of replacement. I asked him if the Jeep was covered under the recent recall and he said he "couldn't find anything about it in his system". I explained what I had read online about all the complaints and to the best of my knowledge there is a recall for the clockspring replacement. He told me the only way the dealership would fix it without charging me $700 is if I had proof of the recall. Aside from this problem being annoying , I'm concerned about the safety while driving the vehicle and if the airbag would properly function if myself or my wife were in an accident. Any help with this matter is greatly appreciated.
Clockspring failure disables horn and airbags.
The horn stopped working and then a day later the air bag warninglite indicating malfuntion came on intermittingly and then stayed on chiming from time to time. It goes off and then comes back on when the vehicle starts moving again. It sometimes goes off when turning right. My mechanic said there have been several complaints about it,it is the clockscrew he said nad when I looked it up ,it was the eaxact description. Pitiful is all I have to say, this is a safety issue and Jeep should fix it immediately.
In NHTSA action number :pe11019 date :April 15, 2014 at 01:39 pm Chrysler informed odi that it intends to initiate a consumer satisfaction campaign for my2007 lhd Wrangler which will extend the cs warranty coverage for 10 years or 150,000 miles. Accordingly the investigation was closed. The air bag warning in my Jeep keep going on and off; I brought it to the deal, who determined that the clock spring was defective and that it needed to be replaced. The repair cost over $750; the dealer informed me that despite Chrysler representing to the NHTSA that it would extend the cs warranty coverage for 10 years and 150,000 miles (and securing closure of the investigation), Chrysler was not providing the warranty coverage it promised. Please investigate/inquire why Chrysler is not doing so! thank you.
Horn stopped working completely, checked all the fuses and everything looks fine. I've traced it to a faulty clock spring in the steering column. Not safe and will not pass inspection!.
I had previously had my clockspring replaced twice per Chrysler and fought to get reimbursed. Now, my cruise control is not functioning which pertains to the clockspring. I'm concerned that the clockspring is compromised and will eventually fail as the previous two have. A faulty clockspring is a safety issue as it determines whether or not the airbag will discharge. It is a continuing concern.
Rh front seat the airbag alarm shuts off and turns on all the time. Faulty alarm the dealer wants 300. 00 dollars to fix. It seems to be a common problem in Jeep Wranglers, that tells me it's a faulty alarm that should be recalled.
Just as all the other 2007 Jeep Wranglers my clockspring has gone bad and my airbags and horn malfunction constantly. I filed a reports years ago but that seems to have been removed. I see that the 2008 Jeep Wranglers had this recalled, but 2007 Jeeps were not good enough. Guess our lives and the lives of our families don't mean squat.
Clock spring for air bag is failed open on driver side steering wheel.
This is my third clockspring in just over two years. I run a Jeep tour company with two Jeeps, two being the 4 door unlimited. Just after replacing the second one in just under two years on the 07 Jeep this one went out. I was traveling approximately 5 mph or less when the airbag was illuminated. Based on prior experience with the 07 I had it checked out and discovered this clockspring had become defective as the prior two. I replaced this clockspring myself to save on costs as the two prior replacements cost over $400 each time. I have saved two of these clocksprings if needed for investigation.
My computer in the Jeep thinks the airbag went off took it in and dealer said air bag is dead. 1st gear pops out of gear almost died on take off, turning left .
The Chrysler clock springs are failing on almost all of their vehicles. There are pages and pages of complaints on Jeep forums alone. This is a extreme safety issue. Chrysler will not warranty this part at any cost. There needs to be a safety recall on this item ASAP.
On my 2007 Jeep Wrangler my clockspring went out and posed a serious issue with my safety. With the clockspring out of commission my airbags would no longer deploy. When I went into my local dealer to have it fixed and asked if it would be covered under my extended warranty and the serviceman told me it wouldn't because he said it was a wiring program and that my warranty did not cover wires. I told him that the clockspring was a safety issue. The end result was that I had to pay $437.
Clock spring premature failure. Causes horn to not work and air bags likely won't function either.
The "clock spring" failed in my 2007 Jeep Wrangler rubicon. The "clock spring" is the device within the steering wheel hub that the electricity passes through allow in the airbag, horn, and cruise control to work when the steering wheel is being turned. When the clock spring fails these items do not work. The service writer at keffer Jeep in charlotte north carolina, 704-532-1050, explained there is more than 500 back ordered and it will be up to a year before the part arrives. This means there are currently more than 500 Jeep of all models (all model Jeeps use the same clock spring) driving around without functional airbag systems.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 09e044000 (equipment, trailer hitches) and 16v352000 (air bags). The part to do the repair was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
This is the first of three similar incidents concerning two different Jeeps and clockspring failure. In this incident they advised that it was caused from a big jarring. In the second incident they said dust. The third one, in a separate 2008 wranger I replaced myself. They charge approximately $150 for less then a minute of diagnostic and approximately $250 for a part that costs less then $180. I believe this is a fleecing of the public and needs the attention of your agency. There is a way to disable the the airbag sound and because of these costs it could/will lead to a death from failure.
Air bag lite and alarm on/off. 3 Chrysler dealers unable to fix. I believe it is the clockspring. I believe it is unsafe to operate as is. Needs to be recalled.
