25 problems related to other fuel system tank filling/charging have been reported for the 2007 Jeep Wrangler. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Purchased 2007 Jeep Wrangler in 2015 and have had problems with fuel splashing from gas tank when filling up. This should not happen. Fuel should stop once tank is full. I have noticed this is a problem with many Jeep Wrangler (jk) owners and would like to know if a recall is in effect or how it can be fixed. Bottom line I have called several dealers inquiring about part cnnnx321ac, which is a recall part #, but they can't sell it to me. So, if I can't buy the part to fix and they have no recall on the car, is my only option at this point to sue the Chrysler corporation? this is a car my daughter drives and it is a safety issue not just some superficial issue with Jeep. This occurs every time she goes to the gas station to fill the Jeep. Smelling like petroleum after every filling of tank is not the right answer.
Fuel spills out of fuel tankl filling port after fuel dispensing equipment automatically stops. Fuel dispensing pump safety feathers incompatible with Jeep gas tank fuel filling design. This presents dangerous conditions and environmental concern with every fuel fill up regardless of gas station ran or equipment. It's almost as if fuel vilume greatly increases after gas dispenser stops fueling. More then a quarter gallon of fuel is spilled on my vehicle all over it every time I fill my vihicle, hot breaking system components and exhaust components coming in contact with liquid fuel,. Forums and internet searches reflect that this problem exists on all vehicles with this fuel system design. Situation captured in this video: https://youtu. Be/zouvokeolo8.
Gasoline overfills/overflows when filling the tank.
There is a problem when filling the gas tank, when the gas pump clicks off, fuel spills out on my vehicle and the ground, its been going on for about 6 months.
Fuel does not shut off while filling tank, leading to overflow onto vehicle, ground, keys, person.
While refilling the gas tank, as the gas pump shuts off it spills gas all over the floor. It almost spilled all overon me.
Filling the Jeep up with fuel it spits a lot of fuel out when it gets full and several times getting on my cloths and shoes. I've read that a lot of people are having the same issue. If I were to get back in the Jeep and would get static and ignite my cloths and burn myself badly I don't think this would be good for anyone. I've read that certain dealers are replacing the tank for free and others aren't . Is there a recall or fix in the works for this or do people have to burn up to get any action? please advise.
Fuel spills out when filling tank. The shutoff on the gas pump does not prevent this from occurring. This is not an overfill but happens even when the pressure is light. This is a potential fire hazard and environmental concern. Chrysler/Jeep has a TSB to correct this issue. This has been occurring since the vehicle was purchased in 2010.
This vehicle frequently experiences fuel "spit-back" on filling. It was manufactured in 10/06, five months before the date in Jeep's lifetime fuel tank replacement extended guaranty for spit-back. Also, the tank began leaking after every fill up. It leaked on the ground and/or with gas fumes present until the tank level got below 1/2 tank the leak source was where the fuel pump is inserted into the top of tank. The iron clamps and lock ring for the fuel pump are located in a depressed "bowl" at the top of the tank. Water accumulates and remains in the bowl causing the lock ring and clamps to rust. The rust expands and cracks the plastic that the fuel pump is made of. The repair requires replacing the fuel tank, lock ring, and fuel pump. In my opinion, this is a design or manufacturing problem and these conditions cause serious environmental and safety problems. I informed Jeep (case number 30126422) on 9/15/16 and they declined to do anything. I have spent $1,019. 60 on emergency and permanent repairs. Photos of the tank as it was removed from the Jeep showing "the bowl" and rust, rusted clamps, and cracked fuel pump are attached. Please let me know if I can provide any further information.
After the gas pump shuts off, when filling your tank, the Jeep Wrangler will shoot out fuel all over the Jeep and toward the person pumping.
Fuel spills out of the fuel tank fill opening when filling the tank everytime. If you are near the fuel cap you will get sprayed with fuel.
Fuel shoots out when filling gas tank. Even after having check valve replaced.
Gas tank spit back during fuel filling.
When filling the fuel tank, fuel will overflow out of the filling tube, thus causing several ounces of fuel to spill out. Thus coating the side of my Jeep as well as the group with highly flammable gasoline. It doesn't seem to matter how fast or slow the tank is filled, it overflows every time. Gas also contains aromatic hydrocarbons such as benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (btex) these chemicals are harmful to both humans and the environment.
When filling the fuel tank, gasoline ejected from the fuel tank onto myself and the ground! this has happens everytime I attempt refuel the tank. I have tried to use different fueling stations, I never "top off" the tank and now must manually shut up the pump before it fills up leaving me with only 3/4 tank.
Since June 2012 when filling up the fuel tank no matter how slow or fast the last bit of fuel spews from the tank filler opening spilling all over the car and ground occurs every time the car is fueled up completely.
Fuel spits back every time you fill the gas tank. The pump stops filling and then the car ejects fuel from the tank and it goes everywhere!.
The fuel tank overflows when filling with gas.
Gas overflow when filling tank, spills on ground contaminate or safety cancer or fire, epa concerns of every new Wrangler spills that is gallons of gas wasted or contaminating across the USA epa get involved please , every time filling up Jeep Wrangler 2007!!!! it spills!!!.
2007 Jeep Wrangler. When filling up gas tank the fuel overflows when full level is reached, spilling out of tank nozzle onto vehicle, ground and on person installing the fuel. This happens every time.
When filling the gas tank as the tank reaches it's full point the fuel will spew out, spilling fuel over my hand and down the vehicle. This is not from over fueling; it will happen whether I use the latch on the gas pump handle or not. It began happening randomly but as time passes it happens with nearly every refueling. I've taken it to the dealership when it first happened (while under warranty) and they could not replicate the problem and thus sent me on my way. It has continued to happen since, getting progressively worse.
When filling gas tank fuel shut off does not work. Fuel sprays out of fill hole.
When filling up with fuel at the gas station, when the tank gets near full, the fuel pump will shut off, but not until fuel spits back out of the fuel fill tube, out onto the outside of the Jeep and into the ground. There is a lifetime warranty recall for Jeep Wranglers for this problem, that starts with vehicles manufactured after March 1, 2007. However, our vehicle was manufactured in November, 2006.
When filling the fuel tank fuel shoots out of dill nozzle.
My fuel tank overflows when filling tank. Every time. Every filling station we have tried.
