1 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/06/2022

Service bulletin # 14-001-11, dated February 11, 2011 built between March 1, 2007 March 31, 2008 recall on inlet check valve recall. My vehicle was built 08/2006 and does not fall within the dated window however it is experiencing the issue. Gas overflow is not only a cost of money but also a danger to the environment. I am asking for an extension on this recall to include my manufactured year.

2 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/11/2022

In 2022, I paid over $15,000 to an official Jeep dealership (Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram city, greenwich CT) to replace the engine in my Jeep Wrangler. Without clear disclosure or consent, they installed a non-oem jasper remanufactured engine. The invoice misleadingly stated “all parts are new unless otherwise indicated,” with no mention of jasper or warranty terms. The vehicle began malfunctioning almost immediately, raising multiple serious safety concerns, confirmed by written service exchanges: •“the Jeep is stopping alone! just crazy, brakes come on alone” — ?? spontaneous brake engagement poses a serious crash risk. •“it also smells strong gas when turning the car on” — ?? potential fuel leak or misfire, which is a fire hazard. •“the Jeep is malfunctioning,” “check engine light came back on,” “needs a pcm”, followed “I’m not sure this is a computer problem, but the motor you folks placed in the car. ” — ?? suggests deeper integration issues between the engine and vehicle electronics. After only ~8,000 miles, the engine failed again. I spent thousands more with an independent mechanic, who found that several parts supposedly replaced in 2022 were already failing again (spark plugs, oil cooler, manifold gaskets, thermostat). This points to reused components, poor-quality parts, or improper installation. Stellantis refuses to assist, claiming their dealership is “independent,” despite operating under stellantis branding and authorization. A stellantis rep confirmed they would only file an internal complaint and left me to handle everything alone. This reflects mechanical negligence, brand-level accountability failures, and clear safety threats. I’m requesting NHTSA investigate: •post-engine replacement safety hazards and quality of work and materials •dangerous servicing practices at this authorized dealership (if not many or all of them) •stellantis’ lack of oversight over branded repairs.

3 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2021

Fuel spits out during filling so you have to barely squeeze the pump handle. It takes a long time to just put 20. 00 in gas in it sometimes as long as 5 mins. When you live in a cold weather state it becomes an issue when you try to pump it and get splashed with gas because you are trying to get out of the cold. Seems like this would be a health hazard along with a fueling problem.

4 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/28/2021

Fuel back flow when filling up. Well documented by other owners. . Certain other VIN # s have had recalls and repaired dealership parts department claimed no knowledge of inexpensive part replacement /addition of check valve in filler hose section to prevent back flow and flammable gasoline spillage while fueling. $40 dollar part? part # cnnnx321ac ?? youtube videos and Jeep Wrangler forum. Full of the issue. Predates my vehicle I know many people have shared that 2006 Wranglers had the same issue.

5 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/28/2021

1. Fuel overflow when filling up to full. 2. Vehicle struggles to take fuel. Fuel system triggers gas pump to turn off. Date of manufacture, 07-07.

6 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/13/2021

When filling Jeep with fuel it overflows.

7 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/20/2020

I bought my 2007 Jeep Wrangler in November 2020. It had approximately 122,000 miles on it and has the 6 speed manual transmission. After driving it for 7 days, I was backing out of a parking spot and heard a loud squeal and was unable to shift gears. It had to have the clutch replaced along with the flywheel and several other clutch associated parts. The total was $1,600. The salesman at the dealership where I bought it told me as I was buying it that there is no warranty but if something happens in the first couple of weeks that he would work with us. Of course he did not help me. He wouldn't even return my phone calls. Whatever, buyer beware! second issue is of course the fuel spit back problem. Every time I fill up, I end up with gas on the Jeep and on the ground. I love wasting money like that. There is apparently a recall on this issue but your website says my vehicle has no recalls. Third issue is all the door hinges are rusting really bad. I saw that there were several service bulletins on the proper procedures for replacing those hinges. Those should be replaced by the dealer at no cost.

8 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/05/2019

Every time I fill the Jeep with gas, about a cup of fuel spills back out of the filler neck before the pump shuts off.

9 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/31/2018

Gasoline splillover when filling vehicle at all gas stations/pumps. Vehicle turned off. Pump set to fill or manually held, the issue occurs. This has been ongoing since December 2017 though putting current date/last fill up below.

10 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2018

When filling the parked, shut-off vehicle with gasoline there is regular spillover. Regardless of gas station and pump, the pump does not detect fill and automatically shut off. This has been a frequent issue for about a year.

11 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/15/2018

Fuel spit back problem, everytime I fuel up gas pukes out and doesnt cut off when its full.

12 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/15/2017

When the Jeep needs refueled, it overflows. The pump handle can be manually operated so it can physically stop the overflow but not every time. Happens every week usually on a Thursday or Friday morning. 87 octane is used and does not matter which gas station is chosen at the time. This is an ongoing problem since purchasing the vehicle when we lived in oregon.

13 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/02/2017

I just bought the Jeep about 3 weeks ago. I took it to the gas station and walked away to clean the windows while it was filling up. I look over and gas is spewing out all over the place. I thought it was a bad gas pump. On the next fill up, it did it again. I looked on google and I find that Chrysler knows about this and has not done a recall on this. On some of their other vehicles but not this one. I am hoping that not only can you get Chrysler to fix mine, but force to to do a recall before someone is killed.

14 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/10/2017

When fueling the vehicle and you reach the full point it does not stop the pump. Instead it shoots fuel everywhere including on the person fueling the vehicle. At first I though it was the pump being used but this actually happens every time you fill it up.

15 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/07/2017

Parked at a gas station, refueling my Jeep to the fullest causes it to choke on the gas and throws up some of it.

16 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/22/2016

When fueling the vehicle, the gas pump handle constantly shuts off! it takes an extremely long time to put fuel into the vehicle.

17 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2016

Every time I fill up at the gas pump gas over flows. I'm afraid to fill up anymore while being anywhere near this thing. The gas eritates my skin and eyes. This is so wrong.

18 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/27/2016

Fuel splashes out of filler neck when automatic pump nozzle shuts off.

19 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/31/2016

Fuel spills during normal refueling situation.

20 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/04/2016

The airbag warning light comes on at random, my horn no longer works. The dealer said that it is due to a faulty clockspring assembly. I got the recall information stating that the clockspring assembly may become contaminated, but my VIN is not one that is officially recalled. I would really like this fixed as it is a show vehicle. Thank you! (NHTSA campaign id number: 16v290). Also, my gas always splashes out all over the side of the vehicle when it's any where near full. It doesn't trigger the gas pump to stop and splashes back at me every time I fill up for gas. Please help!.

21 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/15/2015

Fuel over flows when filling up. Jeep shakes violently at random times. Air bag lights up and dings at random times.

22 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/03/2015

When refueling the vehicle, gas gushes out of the filler tube at the end of the fueling process.

23 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/17/2015

When filling up my Jeep Wrangler the filler neck spits gasoline back onto the paint of my Jeep.

24 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/09/2015

When refueling the pump automatically shuts off then gas over flows. This happens regularly now at different gas stations. The problem has gotten much worse and frequent over time. I can not date the other incidents as I thought it was a pump problem intill it happened 3 times in one day on a long road trip at 3 different stations that I looked into the problem to find many others have the issue.

25 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/29/2014

I have recently purchased this vehicle and while refueling my Jeep the pump wouldn't shut off on its own until a pint to quart of fuel spilled out of the inlet. This has happened every time I put fuel in the vehicle. Now I listen to the inlet to hear it coming to the top and when it's almost full I stop the flow, but I still end up covered in fuel which burns the skin and is harmful to the environment. I am on an army base so secondary containment is extremely important and every time I fill up I have to put a mat under my fuel inlet.

26 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/25/2014

This is the second request I am now sending. My 2007 Jeep Wrangler caught on fire while driving through some brush on 10/25/2014 and was a total loss. The fire department that responded concluded that it was caused by the catalytic convertor as well as my insurance company. Jeep said since I already settled with my insurance company there is nothing they will do. This is the second time I am reporting this incident to you so can someone please get back to me?.

27 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/15/2014

My 2007 Jeep Wrangler x (just purchased this past Saturday 3/15/14) overflows gasoline when filling it up. It doesn't indicate like other vehicles that it's nearing full by shutting off, it keeps going and splashes out, every time you fill it.

28 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/04/2014

Expereince very loud and noisy exhaust manifolds, dealer found both intake manifolds to be defective and leaking , warrenty repair and replaced both. #2 leak found in power steering, dealer stated leas in lines, rack , and pump, warretny on all but the lines,#3 also found catalytic convertor leak, recommend replacement (again happens to be under warrenty) #4 found small hole in intermediat pipe, recommended replacement . #5 looking further dealership found cylinder head to be leaking!!!!!!!!!!!!! and yes, covered under warrenty. Now I am beginning to wonder about this dealership, as I have never used them before not did I but the Jeep from them. . #6 tech stated some wear in all ball joints , recommended replacement . #7 found steering damper to have a leak, recommended replacement, now as anyone can se there seems to be many issues related to my 07 jk.

29 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 07/25/2013

Spits gas upon filling. Took it in to the dealer originally and they replaced the carbon can and other items to the tune of about $500. Did it again a month later and still does every time for the last couple years. We have learned to put the cap where it won't get wet and stand far away form the filler when filling. I saw the extended warranty for a fuel inlet check valve, but am reluctant to go to dealer (only one around for 120 miles) because I don't want to hosed buy them, I'd rather get hosed by fuel. If the vehicle burns down a gas station it's good to know that there isn't a dangerous problem with this vehicle.

30 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/22/2013

This has now happened several times at several different locations when fueling that the pump will stop and then within seconds afterwards gasoline shoots out all over the vehicle the ground and whomever is pumping the fuel. This is very frustrating and dangerous.

31 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/19/2013

When filling the vehicle with gas, pump does not automatically shut off and gas spills out. I have to try and listen for the fuel to come up the fill pipe but it is difficult to gauge and hear. This is very dangerous as well as costly. This is the only vehicle I have had/heard of that has this issue. I know other Jeep jk owners who also experience this.

32 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/13/2013

I was fueling my Jeep. While the pump was active I was washing the windows. I heard ans smelled fuel splashing and had to run back and manually disengage the nozzle. The left rear of the vehicle and the ground were covered with gas. Thinking it might be a gas pump (gas station) problem, I ignored the problem. When it happened two more times at different locations, I got repairs done at a local garage. . Read more...

33 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/09/2013

The fuel over flows when refueling.

34 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/06/2012

First occurrence Dec 6th 2012, backing out of an inclined driveway. Vehicle seemed as if it had no power, stalled, spitting and sputtering like it was starving for gas. Finally got it out of the driveway and was about 15 miles from closest Jeep dealership in ocala FL, and nursed it there, spitting and sputtering and stalling the whole trip. Left it overnight and got a call the next day where they had found the problem and a couple of other things wrong (unrelated to the problem) I approved the fixes and after $677. 00 later drove off the lot. The only thing I can see on the invoice that would have caused the original problem is a line that reads "cleaner-fuelsystem" and has a $59. 00 part and a $106. 00 labor charge. On January 13th 2013 it starts acting up again. I take it back to same dealership the next day and complain that I'm not going to come in every month and pay a $90. 00 diagnostics fee for something they said was fixed. So they plug it in and the code tells them I was running "lean" however they have no idea this time whats wrong. And of course it's not doing it so they "can't fix what's not broke". Between Jan and July it has done this many times, in the beginning it was once or twice a month but now will do it almost every trip. When it stalls completely I loose ps & pb, very dangerous. It now stalls at speeds of around 50 mph and I just have to pull onto shoulder to restart. Sometimes it restarts right away and other times I have to sit a short bit. It seems to be related to longer trips, 1-2 hours. But sometimes will happen after being on the road for 15 minutes. The stalling at 50 mph and loosing ps & pb is the most concerning in traffic.

35 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/15/2012

When filling the Jeep with fuel it overflows instead of "stopping" it in time. Fuel flows out all over the side of the Jeep and onto the ground.
