36 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/14/2012

Refueling, at under 2 gallons, fuel sprayed out the fuel fill. Tried filling again, at almost 18 gallons, did it again. Spilling fuel on the side of the vehicle, the ground, and me.

37 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/03/2012

About one second after the pump shuts off automatically 6 to 8oz of fuel is expelled out of the vehicle running out all over the car and ground. Was found to be faulty inlet check valve on Wranglers manufactured between 03/01/07 and 03/31/08. My vehicle was manufactured on 11/08/06 but I am experiencing the same problem. Jeep refuses to rectify the problem as my manufacture date is out of the specified date range. I believe it should be expanded as I have read about many other Jeeps having this same problem. This problem is a dangerous safety concern that should be repaired at the cost of the manufacturer because of a defective part.

38 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/02/2012

The vehicle cannot be allowed to fill up on standard auto shutoff pumps. The fuel will rush out in a sudden backsplash. The situation creates the highest risk for fire and conflagration. The 08 and later Wranglers have a recall, but the 07 does not. The 07 is the same body style as the 08 and later. Nhtsa has claimed that media sensationalism has hyped public opinion on the matter. Unfortunately, I have to deal with the possibility of death and fire every time I fill up at the pump because NHTSA refuses to force the manufacturer to fix the issue. Nhtsa needs to wake up and address the problem.

39 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2011

While filling it with gas, it overflows and then clicks off after it has spilled enough to reach the ground. Maybe 2 cups of gas goes all over the body of the vehicle, and onto the ground. I can hear air pressure sometimes just before it spurts gas, but not soon enough to prevent the spill. This condition happens every time it is filled now.

40 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/16/2011

This vehicle spits fuel all over the operator when trying to pump fuel in.

41 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/10/2010

2007 Jeep Wrangler just before fuel nozzle automatically shuts off while refueling vehicle, gas flows out of the filler neck and down the side of the vehicle on to the ground. Happens every time I refuel, at any gas station doesn't matter which supplier.

42 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/17/2010

Filling up my Jeep Wrangler (2007) when the pump clicks off it will overflow and spill gas on the ground, side of Jeep and on my shoes.

43 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/16/2010

When feeling my 07 Jeep Wrangler it always overflows with gas. When it overflows the gas goes all over the side of my Jeep and on the ground.

44 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2010

Fuel back flows out of the fuel filler neck at gas stations when full, no matter how slow I run the nozzle. Chrysler has determined that my build date is before their TSB, so it is not covered. My solution is to stuff paper towels at the nozzle during every fill, which soaks up the excess fuel spillage. Not very friendly to the environment, but if it is ok with Chrysler, then I guess it is ok with me.

45 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2010

When filling gas on my 2007 Jeep Wrangler. The gas nozzle will click off at full. And then 2-3 seconds latter aprox. One quart of gas will spill out of the filler neck down the side of the Jeep onto the ground. This has been an on going problem for the last 3 months.

46 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/18/2010

Bought 2007 Jeep Wrangler unlimited x in April 2010. 2 months later while filling it up at the gas station the gas came pouring back out. I thought pump was broken actually informed clerk. Happened again 3 fill-ups later. Around that time started having a shimmy in front end. Brought it back to dealer on several occasions. Was told they never heard of gas coming back out I must be doing something wrong and the shimmy was "normal" for Jeeps. Been having major issues with this truck it has been in the shop more than any vehicle I have ever owned. I've only bought used. I've had to have the 02 sensors changed 4 times. I have my tires balanced several times. My tires rotated. Alignments, etc. I have also replaced the steering damper. Fast forward to 2013. Shimmy is so bad I almost took out another driver. Thankfully I'm a commercially trained driver otherwise it could have ended badly. Still have gas pouring out every fill up. 02 sensors still keep crapping out. Head gaskets had to be replaced already. I finally had enough and told dealer they need to fix no more games and I find out about the TSB for the steering damper. Then I also have to be told that my main rear oil seal is now leaking and my tranny coolant lines are leaking??? OH and was told that all this was normal for Jeeps as well???? really!!!!! the truck only has 66k miles on it. It's all original no lift kits, no off roading, nothing. . . . This is bull. . . For the amount of money I paid for this vehicle somebody should be doing something. I find his site and lo and behold. . . I'm not the only one. . . Unbelievable!!!!.

47 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/09/2010

I have a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. Everytime I fill it up with gas the automatic cutoff fails and gas overflows and spills down the side of the Jeep and onto the ground. It doesn't what gas station or where, it happens everytime.

48 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2010

I own a 2007 Jeep Wrangler unlimited 4x4, everytime I fill the vehicle with fuel, it burps back about a cup of raw fuel out of the fill tube and onto the parking lot. I purchased the vehicle with apporx. 68,000. It now has approx 72,000 miles and it has happened at every fill up since I purchased it.

49 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/05/2010

Filled up my '07 Jeep Wrangler unlimited 4-door today and gas came pouring out of the Jeep after the pump nozzle clicked off. Happened last fill up too, but never before.

50 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2009

When filling my Jeep Wrangler jk model x with gasoline, using multiple gas pumps from many different companies, it fills all the way to the top and spills over out of the Jeep. This happens every time I fill up.

51 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/15/2008

The vehicle quite frequently and unpredictably spits / spills fuel from the fuel filler port when re-fueling. This has resulted in numerous spills at the gas station and occasional spills on the operator. Sometimes it spills and sometimes it does not.

52 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/03/2007

I was driving with friends when I noticed that the vehicle was not functioning properly. Overheating, ac stopped working, and an odd speed fluctuation. I informed the people I was with that I was going to drive to the main road. Before I got there, about 50 feet, the whole vehicle was engulfed in flames. The flames went over the top of the Jeep. Luckily the flames died down briefly enough for me to jump out out. I lost everything in the Jeep and the Jeep itself. Upon contacting Jeep, they said it wasn't their fault rather it was my fault. Clearly something malfunctioned and I almost lost my life.

53 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/12/2007

Fuel spills out when filling my 2007 Jeep Wrangler. It sometimes splashes on me and always gets on the side of my Jeep and on the ground.

54 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2007

Fuel spitback. When filling 2007, Jeep, Wrangler it always spits back out of the filler when using automatic fill on handle of gas pump. If I hand fill it and listen very carefully I can hear the fuel rising in the filler neck an stop the splashback about half of the time.

55 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2007

Fuel splash out of filler hole, apx 1 pint. Happens every time I fill up.

56 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/15/2007

Engine light comes on and off. Gas cap signal appears and disappears. Engine has stalled x2. When applying brakes going down hill (15mph), vehicle shook a little like anti-lock system was in full effect. All recall notices have been taken care of at dealers.
