36 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/06/2012

Every time filling the Jeep with fuel when the gas pump kicks off fuel spills or should I say blows back out of the filler neck covering who ever is fueling vehicle as well as the side of vehicle and the ground.

37 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2012

Every time I fill up gas. It's spit out gas on the side of my car and on the ground. This happens from the day I own the car. The gas attendant told me that it doesn't that with all the newer Jeep.

38 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/26/2012

Every time the vehicle is filled, regardless of gas station, the gas always gushes out the fill spout. The pump shuts off and then a rush of air, followed by fule spits out of the vehicle. The amout of fule is probably on the order of 2 cups.

39 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2012

Gasoline spit-back after pump automatic shutoff. Repeated incident, occurs every fill-up, at different gas stations. Seems like the pump nozzle sits haphazardly in place. The Jeep regurgitate a fair amount of gas, which gushes out all over the gas cap, side of the car, and bumper.

40 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2012

The contact owns a 2009 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that fuel spilled out of the filler neck while refueling the vehicle. The failure was experienced numerous times. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 48,000 and the current mileage was 55,000.

41 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/13/2012

Pulling away from a stoplight the plastic gas pedal snapped off - resulting in the inability to accelerate out of the intersection. I purchased a replacement from the local Jeep dealership that same week - and this has just occurred again (February 22nd 2013). This past time I was pulling out of a parking lot and the gas pedal snapped again. I am not an aggressive driver. There must be a flaw in this design.

42 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/02/2011

My 2009 Jeep Wrangler is spitting out about a pint of gas at every fill up just after the auto shut off for the pump engages. It runs down the side of my left rear quarter panel, onto the bumper and then onto the ground. This is both a safety and environmental concern. I am currently using my trip odometer to estimate the amount of fuel I can put in based on my estimated gas mileage and miles driven.

43 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2011

Gas overflows every time I fill up.

44 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2011

Fuel filler burps out gasoline after all fill ups. Happens at any type of pump and fill station.

45 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2011

Gas comes out while fueling the Jeep. The gas spills all over the side of the Jeep and is causing a hazardous condition. It does it every time I fuel the Jeep at the gas station. It does not matter what gas station I go to. It does it all the time.

46 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/09/2011

Everytime I fill my 2009 Jeep Wrangler unlimited rubicon with gas, immediately after the pump turns off, gas starts flowing out of the fuel neck spilling on me the side of my vehicle and the ground. This has occurred at several different stations using different pumps. I can take my other vehicle to same pump and not have the same problem. I'm concerned not only of the damage this is doing to the body of my Wrangler but also the environment because of all the gas spilling on the ground.

47 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2011

In Feb 2011. I started getting fuel spitting back when filling my Jeep. Tried 5 different gas stations over the course of a month. All with the same results. Took it into the local dealership. They agreed that it was a known problem and made repairs under the 3/3600 warrenty. Now the same problem is happening again. Dealership is going to take a look at it later this week. But cannot promise anything about it being covered. Even though it has been a known problem with this series of Wranglers.

48 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/07/2010

When fueling this vehicle the nozzle will not shut off correctly resulting in fuel overflowing and spilling out, aprox 1/2 pint worth. Cause unknown. Seems to happen in the fall winter and spring but not the summer. Not sure if the temperature or fuel blend has something to do with it. Bought vehicle new in '09 and its been doing it regularly. Jeep recalled '07 and '08 for this problem. '09 has the same problem.

49 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/05/2010

Every time I fill up with gas the fuel spills all over the side of my Jeep after the pump shuts off. This happens at all gas stations. I have been reading on the Jeep forums about this problem for years and still no recalls. A lot of gas is being spilled because of this, not to mention it could catch fire.
