36 Steering Is Loose problem

Failure Date: 08/09/2018

Steering is very loose with a large dead spot. The vehicle wanders especially at highway speeds. To correct wandering the dead spot causes you to need to correct with a greater movement of the steering wheel. The vehicle and steering seems very loose and when hitting road imperfections the vehicle can seem to float.

37 Steering Is Loose problem

Failure Date: 07/02/2018

Steering is loose. Jeep wanders within the lane and you are required to chase it. Steering is most difficult in the 45-60 zone. It feels there is excessive play in the steering wheel. You can turn it 1/2+ any direction before the wheels respond. Drove it for 46 miles and took back to dealer but they couldn't find anything wrong and gave it back 3 days later. Vehicle originally delivered with tires inflated to 44 psi. I lowered them to 36 psi as recommended on the door frame and it reduced the wandering by almost half but still is a very loose steering vehicle.

38 Steering Is Loose problem

Failure Date: 06/19/2018

This is a brand new vehicle. The steering is loose. There's a dead spot when the wheel is centered. It is very difficult to drive especially speeds over 50 miles per hour because the steering wheel has play in it before the wheels actually turn.

39 Steering Is Loose problem

Failure Date: 06/18/2018

The steering is very loose especially at highway speeds. I constantly need to correct my steering to stay in my lane. I can move my steering wheel about 2" either left or right without any response. I have deflated my tires to 34psi and I have replaced the steering stabilizer with an after market one trying to resolve this issue. I have 6k miles on it and it has done this from day 1. I mentioned this to my dealer and they said "its a Jeep thing, that's the way they drive". Well I have owned 2 other Jeeps before and they did not handle like this. This makes it very fatiguing to drive for long distances.

40 Steering Is Loose problem

Failure Date: 06/07/2018

Steering is loose and hard to control on highway. Steering wheel locked up/froze while taking a left turn on highway preventing operator to correct vehicles direction. Vehicle moved into outer lanes where a collision could have occurred. Steering had beame stiff and using a large amount of force would not correct steering wheel. Soon after, steering wheel tightened again at low speeds when making a slow left turn onto highway center lane.

41 Steering Is Loose problem

Failure Date: 06/05/2018

The steering is loose. You constantly have to correct to the left or right to keep the Jeep tracking in the lane of travel. There is also a "dead spot" about 1/4 to 1/2 to the left and right where if you turn the steering wheel there is no movement from the front wheels. This happens at all speeds.

42 Steering Is Loose problem

The steering feels loose. It wanders on the road even at low speeds.
