I purchased a used Jeep that had floor mats that I found out had a safety recall that stated the hole that is used to hook floor mats to the floor board could tear causing gas pedal to stick causing a crash. When I contacted them they told me that they will only fix the issue if I was the original purchaser of the floor mat. Then in a follow up email they stated that the warranty only applies to the original purchaser. . Read more...

On my 2008 Jeep Wrangler (lhd) dashboard, the airbag warning light flashes on every other minute with a chime, an indication that there is something malfunctioning or interfering with the vehicle's airbags. This has been a recurring issue and concern for many 2008 Jeep Wrangler (lhd) owners, including myself, and has been shown time and time again to be caused by a faulty clockspring within the vehicle's steering wheel. This faulty clockspring is the culprit for potential airbag failure in the 2008 Jeep Wrangler (lhd) during an accident or premature deployment when simply driving around. Daimler Chrysler has refused to address the safety concern of their faulty clockspring that can cause failure of the vehicle's airbags from properly deploying. " right hand vehicles have been recalled but not the left like I drive.

I received an e-mail from Jeep around December stating recall n28 would affect my Jeep because the power steering line will rub the transmission oil cooler tube causing the vehicle to leak transmission fluid. I noticed on December 18th that my Jeep was in fact leaking transmission fluid so I called the closest Jeep dealership to me, gwinnett Jeep in stone mountain georgia, and took my vehicle there on December 19th. After further inspection, the dealership stated the entire transmission oil cooler unit was leaking, which I told them was odd since this Jeep is only two years old with less than 50,000 miles. The dealership later called me back and told me a different story stating a transmission oil cooler tube was leaking and that unfortunately it was a different transmission oil cooler tube than was listed in recall n28. I didn't believe their story since they initially told me the transmission oil cooler unit was faulty. The bill was 503 dollars. I am e-mailing you because my vehicle was only leaking transmission fluid because of recall n28 and the dealership took advantage of me. This is a classic "double dip" where the dealership collects money from from corporate for the recall and then collects money from the customer. This dealership should be under investigation and audited because I am more than certain that people have previously brought in vehicles to gwinnett Jeep for recall issues and then they charged innocent customers additional money for "issues" with different components of the vehicle. I checked their reviews and there was a similar incident with a Jeep pertaining to a different recall. I don't want this to happen to anyone else in the future. I am a full time student and I also work full time, so my time and money mean a lot to me. A routine recall that should have been free of charge ended up costing me over 500 dollars.

While traveling down a highway at 55, I adjusted my position in the seat. The vehicle was in cruise control. I placed my feet on the carpet in front of the seat and pushed myself up and back into the seat to adjust my comfort and position. The carpet and carpet mat went up into the brake and accelerator pedals. The vehicle began to accelerate. With my feet I pulled the carpet and the mat back and out of the pedals. Stopped the vehicle and moved off to the side of the highway. I got out of the vehicle to see the cause. The driver side carpet is a separate piece of carpet with a mat attached by a hook that is part of the carpet. The carpet does not seem to have any backing. It looks spun. The driver position carpet is a separate piece that terminates about 6 to 10 inches under the driver¿s seat. The carpet has holes that allow the driver seat frame to attach to the floor of the vehicle without clamping the carpet down. There is no clamping force holding the carpet down under the driver seat. The carpet end under the seat is placed under the carpet coming from the back seat. I did not notice any attachment between the front and back carpet to hold the carpet in place. My action of push with my feet to adjust my comfort and position ripped the carpet on the outside edge by the driver side door and stretched the carpet on the right side, which let the left side of the carpet to move up into the break and accelerator pedals. I replaced carpet mat with the hard molded rubber mats. These mats seem to keep the carpet and mats from moving up into the pedals. The mats and carpet still shift forward and I have to adjust them when the carpet gets too far forward.
When driving at approx 30 mph car began to overheat. Another time, when in traffic, driving 10-20 mph, car began to overheat, coolant liquid in plastic container was boiling. A very small amount of fluid had escaped through the radiator cap and was bubbling on top of the radiator. I stayed pulled over until traffic cleared, then drove home with heater turned on to hopefully keep the fan running. Checked thermostat 04/09/12 which was not defective. Radiator checked and flushed and found no defect. Replaced fan resistor on 04/10/12. Still fan does not turn off and on correctly (I think) because problem persists although I don't drive it as much anymore. Overheating continues to be a problem and if I am in stand-still traffic I'm afraid now that the fluid will boil again and like other reports, might cause a fire. I couldn't believe it when I read the reports. It was like they were talking about my car. I thought it was just me!.
I purchased a 2008 Jeep Wrangler 4x4 4door. Was going to put new brake pads on the vehicle and tried to use the factory supplied jack, the Jeep was on pretty level ground but the jack was unable to lift the Jeep high enough to take the tire off safely. The jack was in such a high position that the vehicle wouldbe to unstable to continue making this a very dangerous situation waiting for a accent to happen. I now carry two pieces of a 4x4 in case I have a flat that I may need to change. I believe that Jeep needs to address this as a safety issue and issue out new jacks that are able to have the clearance needed along with stability. All 4 door Jeeps are the same since hey came out as a new model in 2007 so this would be from 2007 to 2011. The Jeep come with several tire sizes mine had 20inch tires on them but I had them taken off and changed to a 18inch tire they also come in a 17 and 16 inch but no matter what size is put on at the dealer either stock or as a dealer option the jack system should be the correct size to handle the use and for what the use is for safely.

I was driving toward a red light, and slowing down at 35 mph, I and had my father in the vehicle when the radio shut off, there was a slight jerk in the vehicle, all the lights on the dash came on, and then everything continued like normal. I had 1/8 of a tank of gas, and it was 87 degrees out. This was the third time that my vehicle stalled. The last time I was reversing out of a space, and damage was caused.
