1 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2025 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 02/11/2026

We were at a complete stop, with foot on break when my Jeep lunged forward twice , second lunge hit the vehicle in front of me, also that car was at a complete stop. It has lunged 2 other times while at a complete stop .

2 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2017 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 02/03/2026

Recent abs module failure w c2200 code. Took to Chrysler/Jeep dealer for repair and was told replacement module part is unavailable with up to and more, a year backorder. Was advised there was nothing they could do to repair. Researched other dealers and suppliers with same results. This is certainly a safety concern as this abs module failure appears to be a common failure in Jeeps of this and adjacent model years and there is nothing a dealer or any other service firm can repair due to part availability.

3 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2021 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 01/31/2026

My 2021 Jeep Wrangler rubicon (3. 6l etorque, automatic transmission) has experienced recurring drivetrain instability beginning at approximately 2,000 miles while under factory warranty. The vehicle intermittently exhibits a high-rpm flare during acceleration, where the engine speed increases without a commensurate increase in vehicle acceleration. The transmission then abruptly engages, causing sudden jerking. At low speeds (approximately 10–5 mph), the vehicle shudders and harshly downshifts, creating a sudden grabbing sensation. Engine rpms fluctuate during deceleration as if the transmission cannot smoothly match engine speed. Braking feels inconsistent, and at times it feels as though the vehicle is accelerating or resisting braking input before abruptly slowing. The vehicle has felt as though it would stall at low speeds and has stalled intermittently. Additionally, the forward collision warning / automatic emergency braking system has activated without an obstacle present. There have also been intermittent instances of loss of power steering assist. The engine has developed a ticking noise and a high-pitched ringing/whining sound from the engine area during operation. In January 2026, the transmission catastrophically failed and required replacement of the transmission, torque converter, cooler, and control module. The vehicle was out of service for over 24 days. Following installation of a mopar remanufactured transmission and torque converter, the same symptoms have recurred, including rpm flare, delayed shifting, shuddering, harsh downshifts, unstable deceleration, and abnormal engine noises. These conditions present a safety concern due to loss of expected acceleration, unpredictable torque engagement, unintended braking activation, intermittent power steering loss, stalling behavior, and drivetrain instability. The vehicle is currently under further diagnostic evaluation. I have multiple documents, but the file is too large to upload.

6 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2025 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 12/02/2025

The automatic emergency breaking sensor has not been working ive taken it to the dealer twice. The dealer keeps saying the sensor is on back order and they have no time line or update on when the part will be available. Also I called regarding the hv battery recall and there is no solution to the recall.

7 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2016 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 11/29/2025

I have been waiting on a replacement abs module for months , was told I could continue to drive the Jeep by a Jeep dealership, the part is on back order and no plans to put in productions; my shop can see that there is ove500 people waiting on this part that effects the operation of the safety features designed on 11/29 my Jeep would stopped abruptly in traffic and would not go forward or reverse just stuck - lucky I was not hit in the rear or causing a major accident, after turning on /off I was able to go 100 yards to get it out of traffic, and needed a tow . Sitting at dealership - Jeep payment , no Jeep and no answers - along with many other people driving Jeeps on the road today . -this may of caused other issues to my Jeep as well.

8 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2024 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 10/15/2025

Driving down the road with vehicles on opposite side and vehicle shut off with no warnings and had no steering. Had to turn vehicle on and off 3-4 times to get back to home. Had to get vehicle towed to dealership and now has 3 recalls on it and two have no remedy. It has been since October of 2025 since this has been going on with no fix, no solution, no reimbursement for payments still being made on a vehicle that is not drivable.

9 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2024 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 10/12/2025

Once or twice per day vehicle brakes will lock up while accelerating from a stop. This usually occurs between 15 and 20 mph. It is a random occurrence. Also, after uconnect update, vehicle will lose power after driving for approximately 1 mile, requiring that the car be turned off and restarted. The car is drivable again for only another mile, then repeats the issue. Check engine light turns on.

10 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2024 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 10/10/2025

Jeep performed over the air update to the telematics box module. After update the vehicle, while in drive and running, driving on a public road way, set off a dash message to “place car in park to start”. Then suddenly can to a very violent stop in traffic. This could have cause an accident or loss of life. Vehicle is at Jeep dealer waiting on fix. Thousands of 4xe hybrid Jeeps are effected.

11 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2011 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 10/07/2025

Abs module problem that was affecting the performance of my 2011 Jeep Wrangler jku to the point I almost had to stop driving it cause it wouldn't change out of 1st gear. This particular module in my Jeep is on back order due to engineer review and the release date keeps getting pushed out. Dealer has to program VIN to match the Jeep if and when they ever get any in stock. The part needed is anti-lock brake system module - mopar (68089120ab) I have found similar parts on amazon, but I see prices from $500 - $3000.

12 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2008 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 09/25/2025

The abs computer brake module is bad in my Jeep. It needs a replacement. Confirmed by Chrysler Jeep dealership. However, Chrysler does not offer a replacement module. Abs does not work on my vehicle. This is a huge safety issue and is common problem among this year Jeep. Chrysler shouldn’t be allowed to not have a replacement oem abs module. Huge safety risk and lawsuit.

13 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2024 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 09/13/2025

Component/system that failed: the airbag system, forward-collision sensors, and collision-warning/braking system failed. Despite a severe frontal crash, no airbags deployed and no warning or automatic braking occurred. The bosch crash data report shows abnormal sensor spikes (up to +52g), inconsistent delta-v readings, and failures in object detection (“no object” recorded before impact). The components remain available for inspection through the body shop and insurer. Safety risk: my family and I were injured because the vehicle provided no warning, no crash avoidance, and no airbag deployment during a major impact requiring a full frame replacement. This failure places all Jeep 4xe drivers at risk of severe injury or death in similar conditions. Has the problem been reproduced? the problem occurred unexpectedly during the crash and cannot be safely reproduced. However, stellantis’s inspection did not explain the sensor irregularities or system failures. Vehicle inspections: the vehicle has been inspected by stellantis (file 94277361), my insurance company, and the collision repair center. Stellantis claimed “insufficient deceleration,” which contradicts the severity of damage, sensor data irregularities, and the fact that the other vehicle’s airbags deployed. Warning lamps/symptoms before failure: for weeks before the crash, the Jeep produced false crash warnings, beeping, and forward-collision alerts with no obstacles present. During the actual impact, all warnings stopped, and the system failed completely. This sudden shift from false alarms to total silence suggests a sensor or module defect. Urgency: multiple active recalls already affect this vehicle line. I fear this Jeep is unsafe to drive even after repairs. I am requesting NHTSA’s urgent assistance and investigation into this failure to prevent further injuries.

14 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2017 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 09/03/2025

Abs and traction control lights are on. Sometimes emergency brake light comes on causing it to go into “limp mode”. This is dangerous for me bc this is my mail Jeep. I’m driving on roads where the speed limits are sometimes posted at 55mph. Mechanic replaced the rear wheel sensors because the computer indicated that was the problem. Did not fix the problem. The abs module has to be replaced and they’re on back order. Forums online have many different people stating they’re having the same problem with Jeep. Jeep parts department stating it could be a year or more before the part comes in and is available.

15 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2016 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 08/01/2025

Jeep Wrangler unlimited abs, brake, & traction control warning lights all came on at once while driving. Once Jeep stopped vehicle went into limp mode limiting power and mph to less than 30 mph. Which is a huge safety problem when all the roads to and from out house are 45 mph. Abs module is bad per the dealer. Vehicle is vor in the system, and undriveable. No estimate when a new part will arrive.

16 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2007 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 07/11/2025

Tipm failure. Recall 07v291000 my vehicle (2007 Jeep Wrangler) is not included in the recall, although it was recalled for this model. Car suddenly had a variety of bizarre electrical malfunctions including wipers acting on their own, difficulty starting, and stalling while driving. Mechanic inspection ($150) also contirmed that it is the tipm. The vehicle is too dangerous to drive before the tipm is replaced.

17 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2015 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 07/07/2025

The Jeeps abs module is having an error code c2200 that is present in many Jeeps and the manufacturer is unable to repair or emit a recall for this issue. Jeep went into limp mode on the rode and cannot be driven.

18 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2016 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 06/11/2025

Anti lock brake control module (c2200). Cannot get part anywhere, on vehicle appears codes preventing cruise control and other safety issues.

19 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2015 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 05/01/2025

The abs, trac control & brake lights are all illuminated on the dashboard. I took it to have a professional check it out. It turns out the abs modulator is faulty, causing my Jeep to not have abs, or traction control. This is a safety hazard as the Jeep is not known for its great handling during any emergency braking situation. Here's the worst part. Jeep has known about this for over a year without any solutions to fix it. Why haven't they been held to the standards? didn't the government bale them out before? this is a serius safety feature and Jeep needs to do something about this, ASAP.

20 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2022 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 04/19/2025

Was driving to work and the car failed to let me know I was going to hit something and I swerved into another lane creating a crash into a telephone pole and then into a pond/swamp area. The airbags did not deploy and I was going about 40 mph I suffered neck back and bruises to my arms. I am suffering servers neck pain. The car filled with water. The car did say it detected a crash but no air bags deployed after the telephone being straight in the middle. The car was totaled. Nothing appeared. No warning signs. I believe the car has been taken to salvage. If I had the air bags go off I would not have been hurt as bad with my neck back and arm pain. It was thrown violently.

21 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2016 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 04/10/2025

Brakes are sticking causing extreme heat and damage to pads, rotors and calipers and I'm afraid there is a fire hazard as well. The brake also occasionally engage during acceleration at around 45 mph and cause a severe wobble that could also be a safety issue as the vehicle becomes hard to control. Dealership claimed the problem was a single brake line that was replaced, but the problem is still occurring and now they claim it is a second brake line but my mechanic assures me it is a faulty abs module and the online reports indicate this is a real problem with Jeep Wranglers.

22 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2021 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 02/21/2025

I have a 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe rubicon. My vehicle has been recalled three times for updates. I have had one recall done for the defroster due to the faulty software that can cause reduced visibility increasing a risk of a crash. The second one was for risk of fire from a faulty high voltage battery driving or parked. The third recall call was to update software for the high voltage battery in which doing so caused my vehicle not to fully charge and to lose power when driving and not be able to start for hours at a time. I now have brought my vehicle back to the Jeep service center for a diagnostic test and it was found that the high voltage battery pack is faulty in which Jeep has said they will put a new battery in once approved from Chrysler. Jeep has not been able to be able to fix the problem with hybrid battery packs possibly catching on fire or exploding and the new one I'd be getting would risk the same problems possibly injuring or killing myself or any passengers I might have in the vehicle. Jeep is not able to get to the root of the cause of why these high volt battery can go on fire even when they are not in use causing possible property damage to my home or neighbors. I am told in the recall to park my vehicle away from properties and other cars which is impossible to do. I hope you take this serious matter into consideration that Jeep corporation must find a solution for this nationwide problem and for people on the road.

23 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2022 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 01/09/2025

I was driving in the middle lane on i96 west when the dashboard lite up fully every light alerting me of every possible thing that needs attention known to man. This isn’t the first time this has happened but it is was the first time on the highway. I attempted to move the steering wheel which wasn’t working-I’m guessing the power steering wasn’t working, I slowly moved to the far right lane and managed to exit the freeway actually “‘manhandling” the steering wheel to make the vehicle turn in either direction. Needless to say I was beyond scared of what was gonna happen next. I made it to a grocery store parking lot and called for towing back to the dealer. This vehicle was just at the dealer the previous week for the dashboard lighting up in the same way but I didn’t drive it anywhere since I couldn’t turn the wheel that time either. The dealer told me it was a fluke and sent me on my way. This vehicle is two yrs old and has only been serviced by the dealer for oil changes and tire rotations. After doing some research, I’ve read that other owners of Jeep Wranglers have had similar problems going as far back as 2018! I can’t possibly be the only to report this issue. If I lost control of the vehicle due to power steering issues and sensor/computer failures what would happen to me? would I be dead? would I kill other people on the road? how would I ever be able to prove this is the vehicle and not me? this is an issue that needs to be looked at deeper. My vehicle is still at the dealership. It’s only two yrs old and has 40,000 miles. I need someone to look into this problem before something horrible happens to someone. Unfortunately my daughter also has a Jeep Wrangler and I hope she can stay calm if something like this happens to her on the freeway.

24 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2016 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 12/12/2024

Just like many other people have wrote about, the abs sensor is defective. The abs light comes and the traction light does also. Jeep has been aware of the problem for 18 months to 2 years. There is no fix or replacement sensor in sight.

25 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2016 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 12/01/2024

In December of 2024, my Jeep felt like a ghost was pressing my brakes. It got worse over time despite any troubleshooting we did and replacing sensors did not work. It went inot limp mode and would not drive out of second gear. Took it to my mechanic to find there is a national issue and back order problem with all abs modules for mopar/Jeep. I have read many Jeep forums online and this issue started in 2020. As of now since January there is no true eta on the replacement part. My Jeep sits while paying for it and unable to repair. We sought a company to try to rebuild the old one and they can't either since the replacement chips are back ordered as well. Luckily I noticed the issue while driving slow on a dirt road, however, this issue could have pulled the vehicle into oncoming traffic or off the side of the road. Jeep has not issued a recall or any help for the ones that are not inoperable. Someone needs to step up and take responsibility for this issue. There are thousands of people involved from what I have read. Please help!.

26 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2019 Jeep Wrangler

27 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 10/03/2024

While driving at 55 mph the brake light, service abs system, check engine light, service 4wd, service transmission, loss of power steering, and engine cooling fan ran very fast. I was lucky to pull off the road and put the vehicle in park. The 4 way flashers would blink erratically. Engine still running wouldn't come out of park. I turned the vehicle off. L let it set a few minutes. I then restarted the vehicle and it shifted into gear and drove home with the check engine light on. The next day it had no check engine light.

28 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2013 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 10/01/2024

My dash lights went crazy while driving. I couldn't get the vehicle into the correct gear ( automatic transmission) I shut off waited then restarted drove home. After having the codes scaned it shows c2200 code ( faulty brake abs module) called dealer they had none to sell or buy and told me no time was given to them when or if it would be available. I asked them what's the solution to using my vehicle safely then park it and don't drive it. . Since then I've found thousands of people just like my situation. How can you build a vehicle and be unable to supply the public with replacement parts to operate as intended and not have a recall or offer a solution to trade off said vehicle. It's definitely a safety issue when a100,000 + owners have the exact same issue and no help in sight.

29 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2016 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 08/01/2024

The Jeep has an abs module that went bad. I have been waiting months- perhaps over a year, and there is still no estimate on the part coming in. It is an essential part, one with no generic replacement. It is illegal for Jeep to just leave all of us hanging.

30 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2016 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 07/19/2024

On July 19, 2024, my abs and trac control light (anti-lock brake light) came on. I took my vehicle in to the myrtle beach Jeep dealership in south carolina and after a complete checki was informed that c2200-ans module internal will require replacement and the part was currently being re-engineered and was on backorder for at least thirty days. When even tried calling other dealerships and was told that they are having the same problem. On August 27, 2024 I called and spoke with my Jeep service advisor (jennie jo, 843-448-1191) and was told that the abs module is still be re-engineered and will not be available for another thirty days or longer. I saw on-line that numerous Jeep owners are having this serious problem with no relief. There has been no-recall and we cannot drive our vehicle do to the safety risk. I do not know why Jeep is not providing some relief or alternative to customer. I have never experience this type of situation. The dealerships are waiting on Jeep to provide the part and the part is not cheap, over $800 dollars to replace. Jeep needs to inform customer that this is a major safety issue and conduct a mass recall of these other Jeeps. We need help.

31 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2016 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 06/19/2024

My first issue is my windshield wiper fluid only works or comes out once every couple days. My 2nd issue is my tpm system has been blinking and does not show the pressure on very hot days. Both issues have been going on for over a year. 3rd issue is I can no longer use the am/fm radio. 4th issue is my brakes went out due to a faulty rear passenger side brake hose in March. Over the past 2 weeks something has been wrong with using my brakes. Today I just found out both front brake hoses are defective. Due to these defective hoses, my rotors also need to be replaced. My automotive mechanic said this is very common. My car only has 54k miles on it. I feel like these issues should not be happening on a car that only has 54k miles on it. I feel like many children are in danger because of these hoses being defective. What if a parent has this happen and they are unable to stop on the interstate or anywhere really. I almost wrecked when my brakes went out in March, but luckily I was able to stop before hitting anything. The car behind me almost hit me as well. Can you please investigate these issues as soon as possible before anyone gets seriously hurt. Thank you.

32 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2016 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 06/10/2024

Jeep Wrangler jk model with abs issue. I had the "brake" "abs" and "traction control" light come on my dash. I took my Jeep to the dealership to diagnose the problem and have it resolved. I was told the "abs control module" had a c2200 code that stated internal fault with the abs control module. I had the dealership order one and I paid for it so I can make sure my family is safe driving the Jeep. I was informed by the dealership that the part was on back order and there was no timeline on replenishing off stock. The part was on "engineering hold" and would not be available anytime soon. The dealership gave my Jeep back to me and told me since it was the internal electrical part of the abs control that I would be safe in driving my Jeep without this safety system. I have read multiple forms online stating others are having the same issue across the USA.

33 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2015 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 02/01/2024

I have been waiting on a part that been on back order for months- abs module anti lock braking system in my 2015 Jeep Wrangler- I'm not the only 1 waiting for this part to come off back order been since Feb 2024 I've been waiting its oct 2024 - they need to recall it if they cant take off back order very dangerous to drive.

34 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2024 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 08/29/2023

Driving in parking lot, as I went to turn into a spot, my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe suddenly accelerated as if I had floored the gas. Unintentional acceleration continued as I applied and pumped the brakes. The Jeep hit a concrete and metal pole in the lot, and continued to try to accelerate, crawling up the pole until the engine was shut off.

35 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2016 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 08/02/2023

The abs pump module on Jeep Wranglers are not working and stellantis/wrangler has stopped making replacement parts. If you look on Wranglerforum. Com you can see that this is a nationwide issue and impacts Wrangler models spanning over several years (so far I've seen from 2014-2019). I've been trying to get the part for over a year to no avail. Also, the part is tied to the vehicle's VIN number, so you cannot use one from another Jeep (for example one from a junk yard). The safety issue is that the automatic braking system does not work properly. My Jeep also fishtails when driving in the rain. There are warning lights on the dash, which come on and off randomly. Mine do not stay on permanently. Initially, I tried to get this part replaced at a firestone in CA, and then tried again at a mechanic in TX. Both told me the same thing, that the part is unavailable, no longer being made and that it is a national issue. A recall has not been issued either.
