The instrument cluster has went completely out. There is a currently open recall for 2018 - 2024 Jeep Wranglers (recall #24v-652), but my VIN is not included. According to fmvss no. 571. 101 (controls and displays), you are required to remedy this situation as it is now a safety and hazard for the driver.

I bought this Jeep brand new on 7/5/2025 at a dealership with 342 miles on it. The night of purchase, I noticed the fog lights did not work. The dealership had to replace all the wires to the fog lights. On the morning of 8/29/2025, while driving my vehicle between the speeds of 25 - 55 mph to work, the vehicle would shimmy for unknown reasons. Later that afternoon, while driving home from work on the interstate at approximately 60 mph, the vehicle began a severe shake (aka death wobble). I was able to slow down and safely exit the interstate, but the vehicle did not stop the “death wobble” until it was at a near stop. I immediately called the dealership, and they are to inspect it first thing in the morning on 8/29/2025. This vehicle has not had any modifications or previous owners.

Turned on ignition and wipers and headlights turned on with no control, car ignition beeped constantly, all dash lights illuminated, all gauges stopped working (speedometer, fuel, tachometer, temperature) and there was a clicking noise on the transmission. Had to drive home hoping my electrical system wouldn’t shut down while driving home. Narrowed down to faulty tipm.

? title: loss of power while driving on freeway – dangerous malfunction similar to recall 23v-116 complaint description: I am reporting a serious and dangerous malfunction with my 2021 Jeep Wrangler rubicon ecodiesel. While driving on a high-speed freeway (70–80 mph), all warning lights on the dashboard illuminated—including the check engine light—and the vehicle suddenly went into limp mode, resulting in a loss of power. This occurred in fast-moving traffic, putting me at immediate risk of a crash. This started happening again every time I got on the freeway for 10 minutes. I’ve owned this Jeep for about a year, have never taken it off-road, and have kept it properly maintained. All electrical components, fuses, and systems have been inspected, and no clear cause has been found. The problem persists and is clearly not due to driver use or negligence. This issue strongly resembles recall number 23v-116, which states that affected vehicles may experience a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. That recall was for 2021 Jeep Wrangler vehicles, the same model and year as mine. However, my VIN was not included, despite the fact that I’m experiencing the exact same symptoms described in the recall notice: “a loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash. ” this issue began occurring shortly after that recall was issued, and it has happened multiple times, mostly during highway driving—making the vehicle extremely unsafe. I believe my vehicle should have been included in recall 23v-116, as this is clearly a safety-related defect involving the powertrain or control module software. This is an urgent safety issue, and I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate why this VIN was excluded from the recall and consider expanding the recall to cover additional affected vehicles before someone gets seriously injured or worse. Vehicle information: •year: 2021 •make: Jeep •model: Wrangler rubicon ecodiesel •transmission: automatic.

The airbag light is staying on, the horn is not working, inoperable steering wheel buttons (for switching between dashboard options like mileage, temperature, and information) as well as radio and cruise control buttons. Occasionally, all dashboard lights will come and and flicker, the dome light and all interior lights will flicker as well for a few seconds. I believe the Jeep is affected by the clockspring issue covered by s40 / NHTSA 16v-288. However, because my VIN is not connected with this recall, no manufacturer service center will address it.

The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the side marker lights do not function when connected to the recreational vehicle he towed. The contact installed a tow vehicle wiring harness from mopar and connected the wires to the recreational vehicle. The contact stated that side marker lights seized to operate as intended. No warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was approximately 4,000.

The backup lights are no where near bright enough to safely backup at night. There is no easy way to upgrade the bulbs. This is a well know issue in the Jeep community with Wranglers. There are aftermarket solutions but I shouldn't have to spend 100's of dollars to remedy a design defect.
On October 17th. The vehicle exhibited serious electrical issues when I attempted to start it in my school parking lot. Upon pressing the start button, the car would not start, and all electrical items began malfunctioning. The lights inside and outside the vehicle were flashing, the windshield wipers activated on their own, the horn was beeping intermittently, and the car was emitting alarming noises. The situation escalated when the tow truck driver arrived. He was unable to start the vehicle. Instead, the engine produced a loud revving sound, as if it were about to blow up. This experience was not only frustrating but also alarming, considering the potential safety risks. The dealership said they will get to it as soon as they can, but are 7-10 days booked.
Several times I have experienced intermittent operation of the rear view camera system and rear brake light operation on my vehicle while reversing. The issue has occured about 10 times in the last year or so. The issue seems to be the same as symptoms as fca us recall 77b, but my VIN number apparently does not fall under that recall despite being the same model, which I think is a mistake.

There is a confirmed recall 92a for the gear position sensor on my 2022 Jeep Wrangler. I took it to river oaks dealership in houston to have the recall work done in March 2024. They told me the work was complete; I returned to pick up my vehicle and found out the work had not been done because they didn't have the parts, so I took my vehicle home. I'm now told that they actually ordered the parts for the recall without telling me, and I was never informed that the parts arrived at the dealership or were going to be returned after that. I have now brought my vehicle to a different dealership (helfman in houston) for a repair and to have that recall fixed. They are unable to order the parts from Jeep to fix the recall, because river oaks had previously ordered them under my VIN and have most likely returned them. No one at river oaks is willing to help in any way. The recall manager says I should have known that they received the parts in stock after I left without any kind of notification, and the parts managers won't answer or return my calls. Jeep corporate has stated that they cannot cancel the previous parts order, but that river oaks can cancel the previous order so that helfman can put in a new one with my VIN. River oaks has denied this. At this point, I cannot get a mandated safety recall fixed on my Jeep because of the previous and ongoing actions of river oaks dealership. My options are apparently to leave it at the dealership indefinitely or take it back with a safety malfunction.

The daytime running light feature has never worked even with the feature turned on in the settings.
Right after leaving work, the following message appear shifter error. Dash light up marking all type of errors whipers, gasoline, motor, etc. And the most scary part was no power steering at all. Then one second latter it totally shut down. Thanks gad! there where no cars behind me or next to me and I was able to pull over and tuns on my emergency lights. But I was about to go into the freeway only 2 blocks away from it. Just imagine! that happening at 65 or 70 miles in rush hour. I consider that my life was in danger with this issue, not only mine everyone driving around me. What if it happens again? I am truly afraid to drive my Jeep in a freeway or even travel.
I reported the instrument panel failure to Jeep cares and my vehicle was not listed in the recall. I completed this repair 1/28/2022. I am concerned that all the Jeeps affected were not included in the recall. I am not sure how fast I was going because there were no lights on the dash to allow me to see the mph. Mileage was 52423. The instrument panel went dark several minutes while I was driving down the highway. It required replacement. [xxx] was notified on [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
When a snow event happens, especially wet snow the factory led headlights and fog lights get completely covered in snow and are useless. They produce no heat to melt the snow. This is dangerous at night.
We leased our Jeep [xxx and started having software (sw) issues in December 2023. We were informed in June 2024, after having multiple sw issues, from dealer senior mechanic that 90% of the first wave 2024 Jeep Wranglers had sw issues. Our Jeep was a first wave unit, we were not informed of a possible sw during test drive. There's been two sw updates that I know of, one in late Jun 2024 and another in mid sept 2024. Neither fixed all the sw issues and in fact added more additional issues. Dates listed or beginning dates. Issues include control-d: going totally blank starting in Jan 2024 on startup or while driving or starting, in oct 2024 having a half inch strip across the top and down left side, dash navigation direction provides two dashes starting Jul 2024 on startup and for about 30sec, gps freezing up in Aug 2024, all functions on screen froze up Nov 2024, to name a few. Fca us llc has no idea when the next sw update will be released or what fix's will be included. Hardware (hw): Mar 2024 headlights with switch in auto will come on in broad sunlight. While driving on [xxx], engine warning light came on and remained on for a total of 36hours during start up and driving time. Presently at starr motors suffolk, va since Dec 16, 2024. They have been directed to trouble shoot and fix hw. We've were informed Jan 14, 2025, that the oil control valve is bad, and more testing will be performed once parts are replaced. With the sw and hw issues this Jeep has had, we believe it is not operationally safe to drive. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
I was driving home with my 3 kids in the car. Age 13,10,2 we were almost home and my daughter shouted from the back seat… “ there’s a fire . . There’s a fire” my self and my 13 year old son proceeded to look outside the car for a fire. We both kept saying where? my daughter then said “ right there look up” we both looked and the passenger side visor was in flames where it connects to the roof of the Jeep. My son tried to blow it out but it sparked up 2 more times before he held the visor up before the fire went out completely. This was absolutely terrifying. I’m so worried my car is going to catch on fire while I am sleeping tonight. Please help.
I stopped to fill up with gas and when I started my Jeep all my instruments are dead. No speedometer no tachometer no fuel no temp. Everything else works fine. I checked all fuses and they are good. I also replaced my auxiliary battery and still everything is dead.
On multiple occasions, I have gone to start my Jeep and not been able to turn it on. It will then lock in an "on" position where the engine will not run or shut off. Has had to be towed twice and chrystler is not helping. I am not being told anything other than they do not know what is going on, but say it happens to a lot of these cars.
Led headlights are not hot enough to keep snow melted off headlights. Jeep design has headlights in a recessed hole, so the snow sticks to headlights and does not blow off. The light is covered in snow and reduces visibility by 90%. This has been extremely dangerous as I have had to stop every mile to 2 miles to clean off manually in order to see. Why is this not a recall? this seems far more dangerous than many other recalls that I have seen. What can be done about this?.
I have a 2022 Jeep Wrangler unlimited rubicon with the led lighting package. I live in the mountains of colorado and my first heavy wet snowstorm I drove home in at night on my dangerous windy tight canyon road home the headlights as well as the factory fog lights got completely covered in snow and ice to the point were I had to pull over about 10 times on my 10 mile drive home to clear the lights off as they got so covered that the light was completely gone to the point of not being able to see anything. . . Not the reflectors on the side of the road or anything at all. I've never seen anything like it. Even though you can see dim light through the snow and ice the actual light emitted in this state is unusable. I risked getting hit every time I had to stop in the middle of the road (no shoulders just a cliff to the river below and cliff walls on the other side) to clear the lights off to get another straightaway down the road. This was terrifying and I think Jeep and stelantis should recall these lights and replace them with heated units like cars in europe are mandated to have. This is such a safety issue and my solution will be to install some aftermarket old school halogens but this should still be addressed because somebody could get killed in their first bad snowstorm with these lights. They work fantastic in most conditions but when in a bad snowstorm these lights are totally useless and it is not safe to stop in the middle of the road when no shoulder exists to clear these lights over and over. Please address this and hopefully other people have filed complaints over this as well, I can't believe I'm the only one and the Jeep forums are full of threads about this! thanks for any help on this. Please let me know if you need more info.

Driving in weather from -4c to 0c with medium snow coming down. Normally not a problem at all. Was with a friend in a ram 1500 2019. We both had stock led headlights. Within approximately 5-10 minutes the snow flakes directly infront of the car but above the hood height got brighter and brighter even though my high beams were off. My headlights also lacked any beam distance at all. I was forced to reduce speed to 10 miles per hour unless other cars headlight were illuminating the area infront of my car. My friend was still able to go 40mph safely and comfortably. Traffic was passing me constantly on the snowy road due to my inability to go a reasonable speed and having nowhere safe to stop. Upon stopping I found a caked layer of snow on both headlights complete diffusing their beam into every direction including vertically up into the snowflakes that had been so disruptive to my ability to see. On the remainder of the drive home I had to stop every 15 minutes (5 times) to clear the snow from the lenses. The diffusion of the beam also meant that while my beams were less bright, they were always in the eyes of oncoming traffic and I would regularly get flashed with high beams to let me know.
The headlamp assembly lenses have become warped and frosted due to excessive heat from the bulb and defective heat dissipation from the headlamp assembly . Poor visibility at night, as light output is significantly diminished creating a safety hazard. .

My Jeep Wrangler unlimited sahara have this problems for the last 5 years the light goes out and comes back all the time, it is very dangerous, especially when you drive at night and you can have an accident. In addition, the police gave me a ticket for not having light. I took this problem to the dealer to repair it and once again it has the same problem. Electronic problem I am a woman and it is very dangerous for my safety at the moment my Jeep.
The door locks will unlock and lock by themselves. Without anything being touched. It does it so often that it will run the battery dead at night as the headlights come on every time the vehicle unlock is triggered. Also the horn will sound for no reason. Unprovoked at all hours. No warning whatsoever.
Over the last 7+ months, my vehicle will not go into gear. When I push the starter, the vehilce flashes a number of warning lights and codes then the service shifter warning comes on and stays on. The vehicle will then not go into gear. The dealership has now looked at it 3 times and can not find the issue. They can see the code, have replaced the auxillary battery and traced the wiring. This happens approximately 3 times a week. It leaves me stranded where ever I am because it will not go into gear and has to be towed. A few hours later, it will start as normal. On other occassions, it does the same thing to me while I am driving! all of the warning indicators will flash and I will lose power steering. If I pull the car over and turn it off and on again, I gain power steering back. This has happened to me while driving on the highway. The first time I was on a 4 lane highway with no power steering. I can send a video link if provided an email address.

My Jeep Wrangler required the instrument panel to be replaced due to failure. The entire console lighting went dark while I was driving. I had not information on my speed and it made me take my eyes off the road when I tried to figure out what happened I did not have an accident but my fear Jeep is not issuing a recall to all the vehicles affected. Notified them of the safety concern by in January of 2022. My vehicle was not issued in the recall and they would not cover the repair even though it was the instrument panel failure on my repair bill. I was unable to look at the mph. Submitted complaint to Jeep of instrument panel failure.
Jl Wrangler equipped with led headlight and fog light. When drive in snowstorm, snow quickly cover up headlight and fog light due to not enough heat generated from headlight fog light. Once snow covers headlight and fog light completely, the visibility reduced to couple feet at most. Make it extremely dangerous.
When driving at below freezing temperatures at night during snow storms, snow/ice will accumulate on and completely cover the headlight lenses rendering the headlights unusable. This is a problem primarily for vehicles with led headlights. The problem happens on both the primary headlights and the fog lights.
While driving all dashboard warning lights came on and the headlights and directional lights stopped functioning causing a dangerous driving condition in the dark. I immediately pulled over the 2017 Wrangler and attempted to turn off the vehicle to reset the computer system. The Jeep would not turn off with ignition turned off and the key removed. The Jeep began overheating. I disconnected the battery terminals and the Jeep still would not shut off. Finally I was able to find a large fuse to remove which shut off the Jeep.

Clock spring failed, left multi function switch failed, air bag recall.
Appears the Jeep in order to save money has put people in a dangerous issue the vehicle has no dash light in the day time in less you turn on the parking lights or headlights, I understand that daytime running lights are not required ( should be a law )there are no daytime running lights so no dash lights and on a over cast day you can not see the speedometer. I have looked on the Wranglers owners site and appears most Jeeps do not have dash lights in the day time the instrument panel sets far enough into the dash you just can not see the instruments. This is a dangerous as you don't know your speed.

I have a blank instrument cluster, my lights are on and wipers run constantly. No warning before this happened. I cannot turn wipers off or control lights. No safety at night with no interior lights and not to mention. I cannot know how much fuel I have. I have found from research that many Jeep Wrangler owners have the same issue from reading forums. I can disconnect the negative battery cable and it temporarily resets then reverts to the same problem. I have also checked the multifunction switch as I was told could be causing the issue and this is not the case because the issue is still there when the switch was unplugged. I then checked the instrument cluster . Unplugged and plugged back in with only a momentary reset and then back where I started. This is not safe and very frustrating when I know there are many people with the same issue.
