5 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 10/10/2019

Jeep is less than 12 months old and the stitching in the middle of the rear seat is missing. Have tried to tell the dealership that it is not "normal wear and tear". Nothing sits in the middle of the back seat. The drivers seat stitching would go way before due to wear. Dealer in longmont, CO told us that there was nothing that he could do after he made us wait weeks and we had to drive to the dealership multiple times. Multiple calls were made that were ignored. Finally we went in and were told that we should bring it in the next day and they would get it taken care of and that they had to have the pictures we sent them sent off to make sure it could be warranted. Nope. Another lie from the dealership. What a shame. I love my Jeep, but the serive that comes with the "Jeep cares" and all of the extra warranty mumbo-jumbo is a joke. When you pay $55k+ for a vehicle, you would at least expect it to last a year.

6 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 2016 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 12/06/2018

The back seat when in the up position flops back and forth with no way to lock in it in. When the vehicle is stopped from high speeds the back seat springs forward hitting both front seats very hard which results in the driver and the passengers being pushed hard into the dashboard. The seat also will unfold in the back of the vehicle crushing anything in the back including my dog who was injured while riding in the back.

7 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 10/26/2018

The first day I purchased the Jeep there was obvious steering wheel play as I drove home on the freeway. Three weeks later the steering is still loose and I am concerned that there will be a crash. At 70 miles per hour it is very noticeable that the steering system has too much play. It seems that there may be a screw(s) loose on the steering shaft or a problem in the steering gearbox itself. While driving you have to constantly correct the steering due to the vehicle wandering from lane-to-lane. The second problem occurred today as the drivers seat back fails to lock in place after getting items out of the back seat after leaving the grocery store. The seat back simply rocks back and forth as I accelerate and brake. The problem appears to be with the strap that allows the seat to be tilted. This strap at the base of the seat goes into the airbag housing for side impacts. This strap does not engage the mechanism to keep the seat in an upright position.

8 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 2017 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 09/01/2018

The entire body of the Jeep has rust corrosion inside and out the gears always grind especially in reverse seatbelts are not working in rear seats dealship says they can't help me fix the issue. They did a leak test and found several leaks throughout the Jeep. I currently have no carpet due to the off and on leak issues. And the smell is so bad I can't drive the Jeep. I have a three year old grandson and I'm scared to take a trip with him. I feel this particular Jeep is unsafe in several ways.

9 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 2017 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 08/19/2018

Gears pop out while in reverse and grind when in reverse my Jeep is covered in rust and sounds like it's about to fall apart the dealership actually sold me a brand new rusty Jeep that they refused to replace even Chrysler is giving me a hard time. I had several leaks around the doors window and the top and still they refuse as well as me and my grandson have cut out hands on sharp edges on all the seats and two of the rear seat the seat belts don't work.

10 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 2008 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 12/01/2015

In 2009 my tipm failed and I experienced the 'possessed Jeep' condition where everything turned on (lights, turn signals, horn, radio blasting with no display). I took it to the dealer and they replaced free of charge (under 5 year warranty). In 2012 my rear brake calipers seized on both the passenger and driver side, they were glowing cherry-red after a 1 hour commute into work, perfect to start a fire if I had pulled into a gas station with some gas spilled on the ground or something. I got after-market calipers because the guy at auto zone said that he had several customers with the same issue that replaced it with factory calipers and they failed within 40000 miles, they went with after-market calipers and never had a problem, I have not had a problem since myself. Well now all of a sudden my horn, front passenger parking lamp/turn signal stopped working. There are no blown fuses or unhooked wires, everything is stock (I bought the vehicle brand new). At this same time, my passenger seat keeps coming unlatched and flying forward and back (as if someone were trying to enter the back seat). I can push the seat back into position, but it will fly forward all by itself at random. This started immediately with the horn and passenger parking lamp issue. This is dangerous and presents a choking hazard, especially if someone is sitting in the seat with the seat belt fastened. Since the horn has stopped working, I am concerned that my air-bag may not deploy (clock-spring issue) or if it is that tipm again. I don't think I should need to pay for yet another tipm this should be covered for the life of the vehicle since it is a safety hazard.

The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The approximate failure mileage was 10,000.

12 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 2014 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 03/01/2014

This complaint is not related to an accident, but to a potentially serious design flaw. The us version of the 4-door, 5 seater Jeep does not have a head restraint in the center rear seat. Does this really comply with all NHTSA requirements? how can a car company in 2014 call the car a 5-seater but only have 4 head restraints? the uk version of the same car has 3 head restraints in the rear seat so it is possible. This is incredibly unsafe and I can't believe it meets the guidelines.

13 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 2011 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 02/08/2012

While driving on a straight road, I shifted in my driver's seat and the seat back collapsed to the rear seat. This caused a momentary loss of control of the vehicle. I attempted to raise the seat back with the recliner mechanism. This allowed me to sit up in a highly reclined position (wherein my arms were stretched to the maximum in order to drive the remainder of my trip). I didn't drive the vehicle the next day. I reported this situation to my dealer the next day (February 10) for correction (although I had previously reported this same condition around April of 2011 and was told that no problem could be found). The dealer service department investigated and found that the recliner mechanism was broken and required replacement. They suggested that I put something behind the seat to keep it from falling back into the rear seat while the part was ordered. I waited a week (February 17) with no response from the dealer, I visited the location and was told that the part had to come from the seat vendor and an express request was placed on the order for immediate shipment. Today (February 23) I was contacted by the service representative and informed that the an eta for the replacement part was not available and for me to contact Chrysler directly for their intervention. Since this is a safety situation where the seat could un-expectedly collapse and the dealer not taking any other action for my safety, it is a strong concern that this could happen to others and have a terrible result.

14 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 2010 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 08/17/2011

The passenger seat on the Jeep does not lock in place, when you try to enter the back seat. The passenger normally will grab hold of the seat on entry, or exit of the Jeep. It is ustable and slides and causes the passenger to fall or stumble out of rear seat. It needs to be able to move forward and lock.

15 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 2006 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 01/01/2008

There are no crash test ratings for the rear occupants in Jeep Wranglers. Passengers are extremely vulnerable in the back seat since there is no protection except the roll bar but if they are rear-ended, the other car could simply hit the back seat directly. There is no neck protection as the seat is too short. When children ride back there, they are basically unprotected. This situation needs to be advertised so people don't assume it is safe to have passengers, especially children in the back of Jeep Wranglers. The back seat is only designed for cargo, not people! that's why they don't have data on rear occupant crash test ratings, because they would fail.
