My car was parked in the car port. The rear back light on the driver side caught on fire. The police and fire department were called. I was not at home at the time, my neighbors used a plastic container to put out by time the fire department got there. The firs department stated that is was faulty wiring. I am waiting for the report from police, fire department, and insurance representative. The car was parked and there was no waring lamp. Fire department had to disarm my car alarm. I will be calling the dealer after this.

Driving at night and low beam headlights both went out at the same time. The only way to drive safely was to use high beams. Opened hood and passenger's side light came back on, very dimly, and then went out again as soon as the left turn signal was initiated. Even the high beam lights flicker when the left turn signal is used. This is completely unsafe because there is no way to see without blinding everyone else on the road with high beams. Headlight bulbs were replaced less than 6 months ago.
No accident to report. This will will be my second time replacing suspension springs and brake light assembly. I have reason to believe that the 2013 kia Forte ex model has a recall on these item because my car isn't the only vehicle in for these exact issues. I wish to have these investigated because this is becoming most costly than expected.

As I am driving my car losses speed slows to almost stop. I keep my foot on the gas pedal very lightly pressing acceleration to keep it going.

Unknown… the car has been having on going issues with shutting off while driving. With new battery, starter, tune up, plugs, and still no fix. The signal lights do keep busting. The headlights and brake lights. It’s expensive to keep changing the headlights that do not last more than 2 months. Driver side in particular.

The headlights flicker off when the turn signal is applied and also sometimes on bumps in the road. This could be very dangerous because there are no headlights when they’re supposed to be on. The dealer told me that they’ve seen that issue before, but told me there’s no recalls on my model and year, so I have to pay to replace a multi function part. I wrote to kia as well and they told me since my car is out of warranty, it’s up to me to fix that and pay. I don’t even have 50,000 miles on my car! and this problem is not due to me but due to a malfunction of the car. I researched this and see that there are other models of kia that have the same issue that were recalled to repair by kia. I have attached information from the web about a recall for kia’s that is the same year as my car, but a different model. There are no warning lights when this happens, so I have to pay attention to make sure the lights come back on. I have also attached the case number from kia in which they told me they are not responsible for this.

My car is affected by recall 17v773000, though it is not listed. Dealership refusing to fix.
The mdps power steering coupler became worn out causing erratic steering issues. The coupler part its self is not even listed on the vehicle so the dealership would only recommend replacing the entire mdps. I replaced the coupler myself due to lack of affordability for entire motor. Steering is now fixed. Additional ongoing issue with left turn signal bulbs have burned out repeatedly within days of being changed cuurently the bulb is working but the system doesnt register that signals are working causing hyper flashing. Researching these issues I have found multiple online sources claiming similar issues with both turn signals and power steering couplers.

The head light turn off occasionally when the turn signal is used and does not always come back on with out playing with it or jiggle it. It has put mine and others safety at risk at dark. The dealer recommends replacing the multifunction switch. Part is on a national back order.
I have been having issues with my daytime running lights and brake lights going out and then coming back on randomly for almost 2 years . I have lost count of how many bulbs have been replaced. In may 2023, deland kia replaced the harness for the rear passenger brake light as they said it was melted, and 3 months later it is happening again. My radio changes stations by itself, my driver window would roll down by itself (window was fixed and hasn't given me any problems since). My forward collision light comes on at random and my car has slammed its brakes when I was nowhere near another car or anything obstructing. My steering wheel will jerk to the right on its own. These cars are death traps.

The contact owns a 2010 kia Forte. The contact stated while driving and while at a complete stop, she noticed an abnormal burning smell. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the third brake light assembly had melted. The mechanic replaced the third brake light assembly; however the burning smell persisted. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer, where the valve cover gasket was replaced; however, the failure persisted. Additionally, the contact stated while starting the vehicle, the vehicle made abnormal rattling sounds. The dealer diagnosed that the belt tensioner needed to be replaced. The part was replaced by tripe a. The contact stated that the rattling sounds had reduced, however, the burning smell persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that she was concerned for her safety. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist as the vehicle was out of warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 77,000.
Engine had loud rattling and seized, was suppose to have long block and short block replaced. Only short block replaced paid $7,441. 53. After three months of it being in the dealership, I got my car back. Less than twenty four hours later the check engine light came on. Brought it back, it is the same issues. Component in engine that was suppose to be new part failed. It is back at the dealership. The right tail light keeps blowing lights. The component melted the tail light holder.
Water in the rear tail light. Dealer is trying to collect money from me, even though the other service tech said if it was not moisture but water retention that is would be under warranty. It is evident in the internet car forums that this has been happening to many current and previous Forte models and a factory know defect. The other issue is the gas tank lid won't opened. I had it in to be checked 7 times. They've replaced the spring, the replaced the lid. The tech claimed yesterday that he couldn't replicate and when I picked up the car I couldn't open the gas tank lid.

When it rain, both rear taillight accumulate water inside of taillight lenses causing lights to blow. Dealership has replaced gaskets and it still happens. Lights go out and no warning light indication on dash. Concerned this might contribute to rear end accident. This is a one owner car and no know accident to vehicle.
Rear combination lights (taillights) housing developed issue with condensation after developing cracks. This caused brake lights to burn out. This is a known issue with many Fortes and needs to be extended to additional production years.
I was told to come to service department on 2/22/2022 to change my indicator light because it was not working and had to be ordered in advance and for recall on trunk latch. The invoice said bulb was replaced and trunk lock and did multi point inspection. I asked her if everything was ok with my car she said yes but the next day I realized it indicator light was still not working. I got another recall to replace air bag. I called in and got a service appointment for 4/2/2022. I told them the indicator was still not working and I was having an oil leak. They said $155. 00 for inspection for leak, confirmed that one of the oil pan was leaking and would cost $200. 00 to replace but it was cover under warranty. I said ok. When I turned on car and try to drive out there was a funny scraping sound, one of the managers came out when he saw me stop and getting out of car and said it was because of the painted surface of the service entrance. The next day I looked at the invoice and saw that they did not replace the oil pan but had "scraped off factory rtv and replace it with fresh rtv and reinstalled oil pan. " my indicator light still does not work. I am still having leak, pool is on my garage floor and also drips. I am worried now because I am not sure air bag was changed even when they said they had and have done another "multi-point vehicle inspection.
I purchase the car from a car lotin the city where I live I got the car in March of 2020 I drove the car for 3 months one of my head lights started to short out so ialevieated the problem two months later a motor mount went bad I had it replaced after that my sensor s started to malfunction.
I believe that something within brake light assembly has caught fire at one time. The plastic I. Which holds the brake light bulb is melted to the point that I had to purchase a new brake light assembly because I can no longer replace the bulb because it is melted beyond repair.
Both low beams stopped working. High beams and all other lights work I replaced the bulbs and the low beams don't work at all and there's no relay or fuse and I can't find the problem.
My head lights keep shutting off and stop working, they have replace it twice already and again today oct 7th 2021ir stopped working again, now I just replaced the bulbs on sept 15th 2021 there shouldn't be any reason to change it out this soon. I keep calling the dealership about it and nothing back from them. Today I ended up not seeing and hit into a curb and smashed up the side by my tire on the passenger side, I'm very upset with kia they are putting my family in danger by not fixing it correctly.
Break lights, running lights and headlights go out at least every three months at different times. Apparently it’s a common problem with these cars when I go to online forums and I have recently been contacted by a class action attorney that wants to investigate. I have had to replace rear bulb sockets due to corrosion and the bulbs still burn out. We purchased the 2017 car used around 2021 and have probably replaced the headlights alone 6 times and an un countable amount on the running and break lights.
I’m having the exact same issues as the current recall on 2019 kia Fortes. Which is why I’m not sure why my car isn’t on the recall list. I have gone to the dealership for these exact issues with my car. Headlights not incorrectly going out as soon as they are replaced. Going to the dealership several times because of my left tire not knowing what the actual reason is. Looks like it could be the front left. Axle. Also, my carplay has been acting up, randomly going out and also displaying the wrong speed in the gps also glitching while driving not displaying the correct image.
The trunk seal is not functioning properly. Water gets into lighting and causes mold in truck.
I haven't even owned this car for 7 months yet and I have changed the lights 20 times! as soon as I change one the next one blows and the previous one will blow the following the week. I'm tired of making payments on a vehicle that keeps acting crazy with the lights.
Prior to the engine incident I was experiencing the lights flickering , power window malfunctions. The incident occurred on 6/21/2020(father's day morning). I was on my way to the store when my cars engine seized suddenly. I recently had my oil changed in 4/03/2020. No problems reported at the oil change appointment. So the morning of 6/21/2020. I started the car and proceeded to leave my boyfriends house. As soon as I made the left turn out into the street I heard this knocking in the front of the car I'm assuming that was the engine then suddenly ! the car made this loud grinding noise and I immediately experienced loss of power while the car was in motion and the car suddenly stopped in the middle of the street as soon as I made the left hand turn into the street then the engine light came on and there was smoke coming from under the hood as if the car was about to catch fire ! thank god me and my boyfriend were able to push the car out of the street into a parking lot in nuetral. I was able to get it towed to a shop using my insurance and I had to leave it at the shop overnight in their parking lot because they were closed for father's day. The next day I get a call from the shop and they said they tried to jumpstart it, the checked the battery, oil level, and they said the reason for the engine failure was not oil related they said it was nothing they could do. I had to go and and look for an engine to replace the failed engine. It costs me aloooooot of money ! I only had the car for 2 years. I got it at a dealership but my warranty expired so I was unable to repair it through the warranty. The car just hit 87,000 miles ! I got the car at the dealership at 54,000 miles. I do not drive long distances, I keep up with all the maintenance on my car and my engine suddenly failed ! help !! this problem is too common amongst the kia Fortes. I have a 2015 kia Forte5.
My car was parked outside like it always is. Went for a walk and when I came back, my car had been on fire. After fire department did their investigation, it was deemed electrical. The light in my visor or the wiring to it had gone wrong. My whole front of the seats is totaled.
Problem 1, long crank hard start. Have to cycle the ignition key several times to get engine started. No pcm codes. Had to kia dealer multiple times. Cannot duplicate issue. Problem 2, instrument cluster goes blank, radio goes blank and engine stalls while driving. This is a safety concern.
The air bag did not deploy, lighting was limited, the sensors did not work.
Tl-the contact owns a 2019 kia Forte. The contact stated that while driving approximatele 20 mph, ( at night )did not see an animal come out of the woods ( head lamps very dim ) and forced the driver to go of the road in to a ditch. The frontal air bags did not deploy. The police were not present. No injuries were reported. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for a diagnostic. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage 16,000. Bp.
Driving at night on a rural road, without street lights (or other ambient lighting), the low beams do not illuminate the road adequately. According to the florida drivers handbook it states that low beams should illuminate 250 feet. Once safely off the roadway, in the same dark conditions, I actually measured the distance that was lit by the low beams and it only measured 85 feet. . . Way less than required by law. . The low beams are consistently dim yet the dealer claims they are "working properly". This is not safe!.
Kia Forte driverside front head light on low beams will not come on. Dealer states part is on back order when having oil change done several weeks ago. In three weeks will need car to drive possible at night to child college graduation through mountains. Do not know if other head lamp will malfunction and stop working. The driverside was going and out now stays off. Vehicle is still under warranty.
I have owned my 2013 kia Forte for over 7 years. Within the last 3 years I have had significant issues with my tail lights and break lights burning out. To the point that the socket completely melted and shattered the light bulb. Upon attempting to fix and remove the melted socket I sliced my hand open. I have been pulled over multiple times for my lights flickering or even just being out. It's to the point where I carry spare light bulbs in my car. I've had a mechanic look at my vehicle and I've been advise that I need to have the whole tail light assembly replaced. This is a huge safety issue especially when traveling with my small children. I've spoken with many people that have this model car and all experience the same issue. I'm shocked to know this is not a recall issue!.
Low beams are dull not able to drive in the dark. Estimated sight distance of low beam lights 200 ft. Passengers in my car ask if I have my lights on. On coming cars flash their lights as a signal to turn on my lights. I have to drive with highbeams after dusk for viability and for cars on the road to be able to see my lights. The electric dash board will not illuminate at times; having to turn off the car and turn back on multiple times for the dashboard to light up. The low beams are consent every time I am stationary, in motion, reverse, parked. The electric dashboard is when starting the car, stationary when at red lights with the break on.
Rear passenger light consistently going out regardless of light replacement. Replaced light bulb numerous times and had harness replaced, problem still remained. Now all rear lighting have stopped working while car is on.
