The contact placed the shifter into park again whihc failed to engaged. No warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed by a triple-a to a independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and stated that the shifter cable disconnected from the shifter. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer greenway kia of rivergate1536 gallatin pike n, madison, TN 37115 (615) 860-9888 was contacted and informed the contact that no recalls was under the VIN. The failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure the failure but no further assistance was taken. The failure mileage was approxmently 79,000. Ck.

The contact owns a 2007 kia Optima. While the contact was backing out of the driveway at a low speed, he attempted to place the vehicle into drive. He noticed that the transmission would not engage into any gear and the emergency brake had to be applied to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and they stated that the shift cable needed to be re-attached. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure still persists. The current mileage was 38,100 and failure mileage was 26,591.
