My 2017 kia Sedona passenger side seat belt sign was flashing and air bag warning red light was turn on. According to the manual air bag on passenger side may not work properly. It's keep going on and off on my dash.

The rear view camera setting engages whenever the car is put into reverse. The driver comes to rely on the backup camera. Several times the backup camera fails to turn on and can not be manually turned on. I feel that there is a correlation between turning the car on and putting it into reverse quickly however I can not reproduce this at will. This has happened 10+ times. I have also noticed on some but not all occasions that after reversing, when I put the car in drive, suddenly the backup camera does engage although I'm now driving forward. I'm concerned that people who have been accustomed to using the backup camera will get in a crash or run into a person when the backup camera intermittently fails.
The rear tailgate will not unlock or open, and there is no manual way to open it. This is an utmost safety concern for me and my family.

Rear passenger-side doors do not operate properly. Will not open with "key fob", but sometimes will manually. If open, may or may not close with fob, and extremely difficult to close manually. Also, will open themselves even when the vehicle is locked. In this particular experience, vehicle was parked at home. Doors had been locked and checked by visual inspection due to having this happen previously many times. Concern is that doors could open while driving, exposing passengers to possible danger.

I have had issues with the manual sliding doors on my Sedona. Many times the doors will not latch and lock so it's very frustrating. I do not feel safe with my kids in the back because I'm afraid the doors are not locked properly. Also during the winter the manual sliding doors are frozen shut and it's been like that from the day o purchased the van.

While driving with my 4 year old twins in my 2012 kia Sedona the passenger power sliding door repeatedly opened while the vehicle was in motion. The first time I was actually entering the expressway on the on-ramp - not certain of my exact speed but I was accelerating to allow me to yield into traffic. I obviously pulled the van over immediately - my daughters and I both frantic. This was the second issue with the power doors that particular evening. The first issue occurred approx. 10 minutes earlier when I was unable to get either door to open at all. I tried to open them with the remote; the overhead console open/close; the interior open/close on both doors; I turned off the power to the doors and tried to open them manually - the doors would not open. They continued to set off the interior lights/alarm as if they were trying to open but were not. Thinking it may be related to outside temperature (which is what kia had suggested to me previously when I had complained about issues with the doors sticking) I proceeded towards my home. The passenger side sliding door opened twice more. I never imagined anything like this could happen - when you purchase a vehicle shouldn't it be safe to assume that doors (such as power sliding doors) will remain closed when they are supposed to. There is most definitely some kind of mechanical failure that is allowing this to happen. Kia suggesting that they cannot do anything about this is not acceptable. I understand the desire to duplicate the issues as I have described to them but unfortunately I cannot make that happen any more than they can. The solution to this problem is not cross your fingers and hope for the best. The vehicle doors are randomly latching and unlatching. There is significant risk to my children that are passengers in the vehicle when the doors open during operation.
I own a 2008 kia Sedona lx and just recently we are experiencing issues with opening the manual sliding doors on both sides, also the looks fail to open manually and with the remote control. The concern is that in case of an emergency we might be unable to remove my 3 daughters from the vehicle since again in many occasions the doors don't work properly.
I own a 2008 kia Sedona. The Sedona has/had a problem with the automatic open/close door electronics breaking. The left automatic door function stopped working and I received an estimate of nearly $1000 to repair. I have done research and found that the problem is well documented. I did not worry about the problem because I can still open the right door electronically. I have small children and it is very hard for them to open the sliding doors manually. It's hard for me to open the doors manually. Regardless, I am concerned about my kids not being able to exit the van from the left door if the right door, for whatever reason, is not an option. Kia should have taken care of this safety issue a long time ago.
The driver seat's front right tie down system has broken from seemingly inadequate steel cross sectional area abd anoverall a bad design. The power seat is manufactured by modifying manual seat with obvious defects, as a result of which the mounting/connection parts are subjected to stress and combined with inadequate sizes of sections definitely resulted in breaks.

I own a 2005 kia Sedona lx that was purchased April 05'. I'd noticed off and on for the past 3-4 months a musty odor permeating from the vents when using the ac. I inquired with the dealership as to whether or not this vehicle had a filter for the cooling unit and was informed that the older kia's do not have filter systems. It was further explained to me that I was probably smelling mold from condensation that builds up on the evaporator, while using the ac, drains into the reservoir and over time mold forms. To prevent the creation of mold the vent would need to be changed to normal air flow, manually, prior to shutting the vehicle off. To remove the mold the evaporator needs to be cleaned and treated with an anti-fungal spray. An alternative to the afore mentioned service is to directly spray the anti-fungal agent into the vents while the heater is on hopefully, killing the mold and eliminating the smell. I've contacted kia customer service and was again informed that this is classified as a "maintenance" issue, which isn't covered under warranty (cost anticipated $1,000). Good news though, all kia's from 2006 through present day have been built with a cabin filter; and an auto-switch for air flow, preventing mold. I believe this is a manufacture defect and had a filter system of some kind been used there wouldn't be an issue with mold. It is the responsibility of the manufacturer to inform the consumer of this hazardous to your health issue. So while I'm being told that this isn't a manufacture problem, but rather a "maintenance" issue, the vents continue to blow the air directly toward my face, thus causing health risk exposure. I know that property and casualty insurance companies have gone to great lengths to explain signs and warnings of mold exposure and request preventative measures be taken since there are mold exclusions, surely manufactures should be held to the same standard. Thank you for your time of looking into this matter.
