Radio/tape Cd Player Problems of Kia Motor Sedona

I was using my bluetooth and my radio and blue tooth stopped working. It shut off and would not turn back on. When I tried talking the people on the phone could not hear me and I could not hear them. When I shut off the bluetooth the person could hear me and I could hear them. If I shut off the car and turned it back on it still wouldn't work. After about 20 minutes it started working like it should again. This has happened twice.

My kia Sedona starts when it wants to. I have power to the dash lights, radio, and other electronics. The company has known about this issue since the 2002 version and with high miles. It has to deal with the "an issue with the factory vehicle immobilizer control module can cause the vehicle to think it is being stolen. This will immediately disallow the vehicle from starting. ". While this is good most of the time, it isn't good since it doesn't set off the "engine light" so mechanics can read the computer. I have been without my vehicle for a month and missed numerous days of work due to this issue. The mechanics that attempt to work on my vehicle, can not get it to duplicate the "not starting", it will start every time for them. Making me feel like an idiot. While driving from the babysitter to my house on 07/19/2011 my car shut down while I was turning in a busy intersection. I was alone with my kids in the middle of the road while cars try to go around me after 3 minutes my car turned back on when I got home my stereo shut down and engine started making nose. I called the dealer spoke to a sales person who wanted me to come in for a trade in, spoke to jeff from the service department and he will call me back to schedule an appointment to come in. This is not the fist time I had a problem with the van stereo it's been changed before, door handles and other miscellanies work have been done, the grip from the back door is coming off.

The consumer owns a 2005 kia Sedona. She purchased the vehicle on 6-20-05, and twenty minutes after she drove the car off the lot, the radio quit working along with the ignition light illuminating. The consumer took the vehicle back to the dealership, and they could not service the car that day but made an appointment to come back on 6-22-05. The dealership kept the vehicle for three days. On 7-26-05 the brake went all the way to the floor and made a loud ticking noise while turning. The consumer took the vehicle to another dealership for repairs, and they resurfaced the brakes and the ignition. On 7-31-05 the brakes failed. The consumer tried to pump the brakes and they would not catch. To keep from hitting the vehicle in front, she veered to the left and ran onto the median, causing two blow outs on the driver's front and rear. The consumer had the vehicle towed to aaa, and they replaced one of the tires and placed the spare on the vehicle. There where no injuries in this accident. Also, one of the tires in the accident looked as if someone had taken a knife and cut the tire. The cut was so clean that the dealership refused to repair the tire or the rim. The consumer had to buy a new tire and rim. On 8-18-05 the van was taken back to kia,. The consumer was given a rental car. The consumer had gotten the vehicle back on August 28, 2005. On 8-19-05 the consumer received a recall letter concerning the gas pedal and braking problems. (11/30/05) the emission light had come on and smoke was seen coming from under the vehicle, there was a loud ticking sound heard when turning the steering and a coil was repaired as a result, the grease seal leaked and there was a hesitation when the vehicle kicked into gear.

The day I purchased my 2005 kia Sedona the radio stopped working. That was replaced, then the lighter went. Again the radio and then within the first three weeks the brakes and front end which has been the ongoing problems and concern to date. With numerous trips up until 9/05 and my taking it to yet another dealer 9/05-1/06 leading to it blowing out a tire and now them telling me all along of course that nothing is outside of "normal" or their fault etc. However buying this vehicle new and it sounding and like something I've never heard before (and I've driven for 20 years many types of cars new and very old!) let alone the way it shakes. . Yet they always led me to believe I was nuts. They did replaced the rotors finally only after I took it to someone else who documented it needed it and I took it back with the paper work and that wasn't until August (I bought it in may) and they'd blown me off for two months. I've called kia main office who also is making it not their problem it's a "normal" wear issue. There is no car that sounds and feels like this upon braking. Reading your site at least I know I'm not alone finally which is what *they* want you to think!.

Re:kia Sedona minivan [xxx] with about 58,300 miles. No prior problems of any kind. St complaint: on evening of Friday, 12/31/04, a clunking/grinding sound from right side of my kia Sedona at about 58,000 miles grabbed and seized the right axle. On 1/1/05 [sat] I drove car to local srvce cntr. On 1/3/05 [Monday] srvc cntr diagnosed burnt/broken right axle wheel bearings. Altho I told srvce cntr to do brake service on all 4 wheels but not wheel bearings, as I wanted that work to be done by my kia dealership - my local station replaced brake pads & rims and honed rotors and replaced front right axle wheel bearings. Tow service to kia dealership was cancelled by me as a result. 2nd complaint: on wed, 1/5/05, I drove daughter at 6:45 a. M. From bronx to her laguardia hs in manhattan. Noticed that car radio and head lights flicked on & off while driving for minutes at a time. Later in day, I drove to brooklyn's 99 street cleaners to pick up my military field coat at 3:20 p. M. Minivan parked but engine would not turn over & start. Used auxiliary battery pack [abp] to start engine and entered bqexpressway. Crossing brooklyn bridge to manhattan, engine died. Used abp to start engine and entered fdr drive up manhattan to home. Car engine died 3 more times. After 4 stalls and re-starts with abp, I kept abp connected to vehicle battery and, with all lights off in darkness from 4:30 p. M. -5:45 p. M. , in slow rush hour traffic, the abp kept car alive till arrival at local srvce cntr. All fuses checked okay while car battery recharged. Diagnosis made that alternator and/or regulator not working. Have phoned kia tow service for pick up to dealership. Vehicle has about 58,300 miles on it. I am very satisifed with kia customer service and kia tow service, whom I telephoned on 1/3/05 [and then cancelled tow] and today on 1/6/05. Battery keeps on dying, needing boost. Recieved new one in January 2003. That one died in Feb. They replaced radio, saying it had a short. But battery died again. Then they said an alternator wire was loose. They reconnected it. But battery died again, the following month. Back for service on 6/2/03. Afraid electrical system may fail while vehicle is being operated. Know of 2 other individuals with same kia Sedona ex that this has happened to (battery failure).
