The contact owns a 2008 kia Sedona. While driving the vehicle at various speeds, the brakes began pulsating and there was excessive vibration in the steering wheel including a burning odor. The stated that the failure could be related to the way she drove the vehicle. A second dealer stated that brakes over heated and the brake pads and rotors needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the brakes should have failed at 15,000 miles. The vehicle will be repaired; however, she stated that the brakes were defective. The failure mileage was 7000 and the current mileage was 15,300. Updated 10/26/09. The rotors overheated and were warped. The air bag light was on. The consumer was also informed tires were need on the vehicle due to cupping. Updated 10/26/09.

Lter from constituent complaint and demand for action re her 2006 kia Sedona which without warning shut-down due to a catastrophic engine failure. The dealer stated the engine failure was due to sludge build-up. Prior to the engine failure, the consumer stated the brakes were vibrating, noisy and the vehicle was pulling to the right. It was recommended that the brakes and all of the tire be replaced. The dealer also recommended as alignment. The transmission would slip when shifting fro first to second gear. The dealer had to order an input sensor.

I purchased in 2008. I have heard the axle or tire rod make squeaking noise on every bump or dip. Everytime I mention to shop mechanic and they check, they say nothing is wrong. After 96000 miles they tell me they cannot give me a alignment because I need new tire rods. The same vehicle I have complained for 9 years.

I purchased a 2006 kia Sedona October 21st of 2006 and ever since then I have had it in for service about 8-9 times. First few times were for the engine light going on all the time. Then it was shaking of the vehicle and they did a wheel alignment about two times. Took it in again for same shaking problem so they replaced the struts on it. Than the horn went out and the under carriage of the vehicle started shaking while trying to accelerate to 50 miles an hour. They replaced some part on the under carriage but the vehicle is still shaking and is still in the shop waiting to hear from kia in the next part to replace or fix. I have had a rental each time which is fine and dandy, they have picked up the cost but it is just getting frustrating to have a brand new vehicle with only 20 miles on it when purchased to be serviced as many times as it has in the past year. Somehow I do now know if this vehicle is even road safe anymore!!.
In Jan 2006, after only 12,000 miles on my 2005 kia Sedona, we took our car in for front brake work. The front wheels vibrated when coming to a stop. The kia dealer re-turned the rotors and it fixed the problem temporarily. The problem returned but we have ignored it until now (July 2007) when at 40,000 miles the kia dealer says this is a maintenance issue, not a warranty issue. They said they would fix the problem for $450.

When hitting bumps vehicle is making a squeaking / creaking sound fire light front every 3 mon seat belts every time hard to used and now finally broke.
Bulbs constantly going out. Lots of front end issues with noises, clunking mostly. Difficulty seeing due to blind spot where front window and doors meet and where front doors and back sliding door meets.
The 2005 kia Sedona I own has been plagued by numerous problems. The first of which is a brake malfunction. It was thumping when braking at high speeds then grinding when braking at low speeds. The pads have been replaced, rotors machined, then they were replaced. Also, there is a joint or strut problem b/c . When you go over a bump in a residential neighborhood it sounds creaky and as if it might snap. Also, power door locks have been serviced twice. In addition the steering wheel is very shaky. The dealer blamed that on alignment. Also, the tires need to be replaced at less than 25k and probably have needed to be replaced since 15k. This is due to the brake problem I am certain. All attempts to have these issues resolved have been blown off by the dealer -- until 11/07 when I demanded that there was indeed something wrong.
A regular maintenance at the dealership caused a defect in my vehicle's brakes, a tire rotation defect and a steering problem(vehicle keeps on pulling to the right and brake pedal too soft and almost touches the floor when used-brake ineffective). The dealer did not show any signs of concern about the safety of the vehicle despite several attempts to address the issue. No choice but to contact company's headquarters.
The contact owns a 2004 kia Sedona. When applying the brakes the whole front end vibrated. Did not hear noises when applying the brakes. She noticed this around two months ago. The consumer mother-in -law also had a 2005 kia Sedona and she experienced the same problem. The consumer took car to a dealer, and they told her that it was not the brakes. They were not sure what it was. The consumer said this happens at any speed.
They were minor at first, speaker cover, weather stripping, and noise when backing up. Then the other problems came: faulty pilot bearing, clutch, and pressure plate, 4wd light, e brake, power windows, paint coming of vehicle in various places, dome lamp, door lock sensor, gear shifter, windshield molding, air bag light, gas pedal sticking, cup holder. The ones that concern me the most is the vibration that I have at speeds of 65-75 mph. The whole steering wheel shakes and the vibration can be felt below. I have seen where there are other complaints on this model for this. I am concerned because I have taken it to the dealer and they cannot locate the problem. I also have problems shifting into lower gears especially in the mornings. I also have problems shifting into 1st gear from neutral. I was sitting at a stop light and when the light turned green went to put my car into first, it would not go, I shifted into 2nd and tried to go into 1st but it would not go. I finally cut the vehicle off and got it into 1st. The other main concern is there is a delay on acceleration. I experience it after my vehicle has sat for 5 or more hours. When the gas pedal is pushed the vehicle will not go or will move several feet and then stop. I have made the dealership aware of these problems and some have been fixed but the major ones, vibration, hesitation, and shifting into 1st cannot be fixed because the cause is unknown. I have already had two close calls in this vehicle one because I could not get my car into gear and I was about hit from behind. The other was the hesitation where the car stalled just as I was pulling onto the road and would not go. The vibration concerns me too because this could be the transmission or steering, and I know that much of a vibration has to affect other things as well. I am going to contact someone about trying to declare this vehicle as a lemon. I am concerned for my daughter's safety and this is my only source of transportation. Please help me.
There's vibration in the engine compartment at idle or driving. Dealership/manufacturer are aware of the problem, but don't have a solution.

Consumer stated he experienced premature tire wear. He stated he was only getting 18,000 miles from a set of tires. He stated his first set of tires were the original ones and they wore out at about 18,000. Now he has sigma 15 rims and now they are wearing out at about the same amount of mileage.

The bolts in all of the seats continued to become loose. The back of the seat continued to fall backwards or forwards. The front suspension always has to be tightened when the consumer has the vehicle service. .
Thumping noise in left front from strut when going over bumps kia is aware of situation and does not know how to rectify.
Our Sedona has been pulling since we first bought it. First to the left, then to the right, then nothing, no pull. Been aligned twice. Also been told I take my hands off unevenly which causes to pull, also that I don't know how to keep correct tire pressure in. The car pulls heavily. One way or the other. Scared to drive. Also brakes vibrate car badly when braking from high to low speed especially on a downhill. Have contacted the bbb auto line. I believe the car is extremely unsafe and I can not stand driving this thing. It is a two hour drive to my kia dealer and I have been there a lot. **dimsii ivoq entry posted after 12/12/02 cut over to artemis**768313.
Consumer had problems with two leased kia Sedona and with the dealership. The consumer heard an awful rattle not long after having an oil change. It was discovered that there was no oil in the reservoir and oil was all over the vehicle. The consumer was able to get to a repair shop and the mechanic informed him there was no oil and the filter was not properly installed. The vehicle began to shimmy and shake. The dealer stated the problem was a defective cable, however the shimmy and shake returned. The check engine light illuminated. The consumer stated the second Sedona blew a fuse within the first month. Then, two months later the vehicle would not start. The dealer replaced the battery and this vehicle also rattled.
The accelerator pedal and brake pedal were too close together and vehicle rides rough.
