Air Bag Problems of Kia Motor Sephia

I was on my way to college when I hit a patch of wet road, when I tried to correct the slide, the right side grabbed and put me into a spin over both lanes and I hit the left side guard rail head on at approx. 45mph. Air bags didn't deploy for either side. Car is almost worth fixing but I will never drive that metal deathtrap again. This is my first and absolutely the last kia I will ever buy.

Dashboard warped and coming up and touching windshield. It is breaking or blocking the vent/defroster/defogger system. Therefore the windows barely defrost and this is a safety hazard. I know of two other people having the same problem with the dashboard. Also "door open" light remains on and drains battery.

The horn stopped working on my 1999 kia Sephia with 61,000 miles. The dealership (which also sells and services fords) estimated the repair at $50 to $100, which I authorized. A few hours later the service manager called and told me to forget it. Due to a totally bizarre design, the horn is integrated into the airbag unit and fixing the horn requires replacing the entire airbag assembly. The cost: $650 for the part and $150 labor, total $800. If the horn design were normal, he said it would have cost less than $100. I called kia of America consumer affairs and offered to pay $100, the normal amount, toward the repair. They declined as the car is out of warranty and said that I would have to pay the full cost myself. I had placed the car on sale just before the horn went bad and have been unable to sell it as nobody wants to buy a car without a horn. Also, it is dangerous to drive a car without a warning signal in case of danger.

Interior systems:passive restraint:air bag:side door:passenger summary: dashboard has come apart. Also, seals around airbag on passenger's side has lifted up, exposing parts underneath. Heater vent on dash has cracked.

The vehicle was impacted in the rear while stopped. As a result the vehicle was pushed into oncoming traffic. None of the air bags deployed upon impact.

Air bag problems. Nlm.

While traveling at 35 mph, consumer stated the vehicle was involved in a frontal collision. Consumer stated none of the airbags deployed. No problems prior with airbags. Please provide any further information.

Since the dealership turned off the airbag system cause the module is defective and they don't have the replacement part should I have been giving a free loaner car for the safety related defect on a car that is standard equipment.

Consumer was experiencing problems with the airbag system.
