2011 kia Sorento. Consumer writes in regards to the auto function of the heater/ac not working. The consumer stated the auto function worked for another six months, and then it stopped working again. The dealer repaired it for the second time. Shortly after, it stopped working again. The dealer kept the vehicle for a couple of days, to determine the problem. The vehicle was returned to the consumer and it was working, but was told it wasn't fixed and would continue to stop working.

Please make blind spot scores part of vehicle safety ratings. It needs to be an actual score. Most terrifying test drive of my life. 2012 kia Sorento was my dream car. I had built it online 10 times & walked in -specs in hand- ready to buy. The test drive to me was a formality. That changed during the test drive. New suvs are adding huge pillars to the rear of vehicles, shrinking rear third windows, shrinking rear trunk door windows, pushing driver seats tightly up against the driver door- to shrink the car and boost gas mileage. On top of that, they are pursuing "quietness" & part of that is shrinking the exterior mirrors. Add this all up & you can hide a semi in the blind spot of this car. It was like driving a windowless cargo van w/o the big cargo van mirrors. The mirror are small like what belongs on an economy car. Yes, my driver side mirror was well adjusted to only show a sliver of the vehicle. I just couldn't see. As I continued SUV shopping, I found this new design in many new suvs. Gigantic blind spots are now the new design. I couldn't see to change into the left lane. When I looked over my shoulder my face was so close to the window, all I could see behind me were the separating pillars. Changing lanes was a guess. I did not buy my dream car, but more importantly I realized there is a new highly dangerous design trend in many suvs that needs monitored. Consumers should be informed of the severity of this risk at the time of purchase. We need a visibility rating score on the label of vehicles. I walked away from dream car. Bells and whistles don't matter if you can't even see to drive. I contacted consumer reports and requested a report that shows which suvs have the best visibility and they had nothing on the topic. It is not even monitored. How can this danger be being installed in so many vehicles and go unchecked by the whole safety industry?.

Drivers power window would not open. Had to tap rocker switch multiple times. Window then would not close again had to tap rocker switch to close.
The driver side window malfunctioned in the down position. It will not roll up or down. The fuse was checked and appears to be ok. All other windows function properly.
After the first dealer oil change I began getting lifter noise on engine start up that would last for minutes. The problem has gotten worse. Dealer refuses to aknowledge the problem and now I have put a non-op on my brand new 2011 Sorento because of this problem. Tried to get this resolved with a lawyer and the company refused to take the car back. I have been forced to retain a lemon law attorney to get this resolved. Kia motors does not stand behind their warranty. My car was in and out of different dealerships with an array of problems. The interior cloth around the rear hatch is coming apart and the car was in the shop 3 times for it and it was never fixed. The last dealer said that they have to get "special permission" to fix this even though the car is under factory warranty. The brakes are getting very spongy, and they are still not fixed. The car has been in the shop for over 70 days on and off with most of my complaints being ignored. One of my original complaints was a glare off the instrument cluster that blinds the driver on sunny days. I almost hit another car when I was momentarily blinded by the "chrome rings" around the cluster while flashed in the eyes as I was going around a curve. They said that they could not correct this problem because it was an "engineering" problem. The bluetooth still does not work correctly, and I am still getting warning lights that go on and off, including low tire pressure (when the tires are fine) as well as an emissions light and a check engine light . There are many problems with this car and it is parked because of them. The car is not safe to drive, and I submit that the company knows a lot more about these problems than they are letting on.
I have had my 2003 kia Sorento since March 2010. It was purchased with 32,000 miles on it, and as of the end of October 2010, it had 36,000 miles. So far, I have had to replace the coolant reservoir, because it was cracked. I was driving, and it overheated out of nowhere. It was in the shop for four days, because they could not find the problem even after doing several pressurized systems tests. At the end of October 2010, I had to replace the oil pump, because it had a crack in it. No one anywhere I called could believe I had to replace an oil pump. All the mechanics stated that's one of the few things they never have to replace on any vehicle, and certainly not at 36,000 miles. Anyway, due to oil leaking onto the timing belt, that had to be replaced also. The timing belt was in fine condition otherwise. Consequently, I now have engine problems. I'm sure the engine will have to be replaced from overheating and then having no oil. At high rpms, you can hear a slight tick, which I'm pretty sure is a lifter issue. Headlights burn out quickly. I was driving one day, and both burnt out at the same time. I had to drive on high beams in the city. Constant electrical problems with the dash. Dash lights rarely work, and then all of a sudden all the lights will start flashing here and there - dash lights flash on/off, ceiling light flashes on/off, all back and forth while I'm driving in the dark. Very distracting, especially in traffic. The truck itself (seats, comfort, etc. ) is awesome, but it was definitely manufactured poorly. Worst purchase ever. Glad I bought the 5 star warranty or I'd be paying for a truck I can't drive.

I have a 2008 kia Sorento. The low headlights make a circle in front of my car. The headlights illuminate the street and I can see the circumference. Beyond the light, it is pure darkness. Is there a recall on the headlight range?.
