2 Brake Light On problem of the 2010 Kia Motor Soul

Failure Date: 07/22/2020

I exported my kia Soul 2010 to germany due to military movement order. As the car is now registered in germany; I did not get any notifications from kia us about the recall sc098am regarding a problem with the brake light switch, rated as a safety issue. My german car dealer is trying to help me get the brake light switch changed, but is unable to get the necessary information from kia. Is there a possibility to assist me in getting the necessary work from a safety recall done in germany? thank you for your help.

3 Brake Light On problem of the 2014 Kia Motor Soul

Failure Date: 02/10/2018

At 10000mi, this car lost pick- up, then charging outlets failed. By 30000mi, the brakes were mushy and weak, the engine makes noise, steering issues and weird smells started to occur. By 45000mi, the brake light failed, vibration/shaking, hesitation and lurching (on its own), gas millage was cut in half, rmps/idle unusually high, faulty/ failed sensors, fuel gauge failure, heating/blower failure. Dealerships will not look into anything without a "code" tripping, and I was told by their mechanic that kia corporate will not allow any investigation of issues without a diagnostic code, so my warranty woun't cover the high price of finding the issues. I get in the car, start it up and the noise and rev is not normal. I drive 10 feet and the car starts shaking and making noise. When I tried to turn on the heat, loud noises started under the hood, and the engine would rev, when the car revved, the heat would kick on for 2 sec then fall out again. It now doesn't perform at all. When I accelerate after a stop light, it won't move for several seconds, then putters and goes. I have almost gotten into many accidents because of this.

4 Brake Light On problem of the 2013 Kia Motor Soul

Failure Date: 01/20/2017

Brake switch failed. My brake lights no longer worked and power steering was disabled, making the car impossible to drive. Could not get car out of "park" without using override button. Car needed to be towed to kia dealer. This switch has been recalled on 1. 6 million kia's but my car was not included but should be added. Not sure how long I was driving without brake lights working. I'm glad I never use my cruise control as pressing the brake peddle would not disengage the cruise control function.

5 Brake Light On problem of the 2011 Kia Motor Soul

Failure Date: 09/19/2015

Tl- the contact owns a 2011 kia Soul. The contact while driving the vehicle's brake lights would not illuminate, the brakes seized, the front driver and passenger wheels smoked, the brake shifter interlock feature would not take vehicle out of park, and the vehicle cruise control would not deactivate even when the brake was depressed while driving at 72 mph. The vehicle was previously remedied under NHTSA campaign number: 13v114000 (exterior lighting , service brakes, hydraulic) however the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle failure mileage was approximately 55,000. Kh.

6 Brake Light On problem of the 2010 Kia Motor Soul

Failure Date: 08/17/2015

I was notified by another driver that none of my brake lights were lighting up when I braked. I immediately took my kia Soul to the dealership and they found a faulty brake switch. This was the same faulty brake switch that was subject to a recall in 2013. This means that the replaced new brake switch is also faulty after less than 2 years of driving. It is a worry to me that kia could be replacing a faulty recalled part with another faulty part, especially one that has major safety implications. I was also required to pay for this repair and this also seems unfair given the history of the particular part.
